Brilliant!

23 August 2008
Had a most enjoyable stay! Half board was great value, lovely (and plentiful!!) food each morning and evening. Rooms always in excellent condition and wonderful friendly staff. Location is excellent. It is not in the middle of the resort, so is nice and quiet at night( no pubs or nightclubs with blaring music), but yet you are only a 5-10 minute walk from the centre of things. I asked for a room at the front of the hotel which we got. I would recommend this, as at the back of the hotel there is a residential complex which would not be an ideal balcony view! The hotel is well connected with a bus stop right around the corner. Also, there is a supermarket and atm nearby. The rooms all have air conditioning which is provided at no extra charge. A safe is also provided. My only little complaint was that there was no hairdryer in the room, but wasn't really a big deal!. Would give the hotel 10/10 and without doubt go back there again!

WOW!!!!

29 June 2008
WOW!!! says it all the hotel was fantastic set off the main part of Salou . A leasurely stroll for about 10mins to the beach and the hive of activities. The rooms were excellent air conditioned(no charge for a change)every room has a saftey deposit box(no charge for a change). At the pool are there was enough sun loungers and parasols to go around, staff were most helpful, politie, very well dressed would find any information you wanted book taxis if required. The restrauant was eceptional the food was fantastic .Every day they catered for all different nationalities ,you could get a full english breakfast(yes they has proper sausages )The evening meals were yet again to a very high standard we stayed for a week and the menu changed every night. The salad bar was replenished often so all the salad ingrediants were fresh from the time the restraunt opened till it closed. The main meal the meats (pork, steak, veal, chicked and all types of fish were cooked fresh in front of you.The only downside ,although which did not bother our group not ideal for children as there was no proper kids club were the parents could leave them for a couple of hours they just has a few activities around the pool.I would recommed this hotle to anyone and the price we had to pay for one weeks half board was fantastic and to round off a fab week weather was hot hot hot and met some lovely people from Scotland and Northern Ireland the Sol Piramide is a MUST!!!

Food!!!

01 June 2008
Just stay week here, end May 08. Hotel lovely, clean, staff great our only big dissapointment was the food, main courses only, salad bar and desserts were fab. Main courses yukk some nights, two nights totally awful, one night we were served hot dogs and burgers on buns, not what we are used to in 4* hotel. Come on Piramides, we've stayed with you before and always had lovely food, dont spoil it!!!

Couldnt Fault it

28 May 2008
We have just returned from a 5 night break at the Sol Piramide hotel. We both thought the hotel was great , we were half board and there was always lots of choice for dinner pizza, roast chicken, pork , ribs pasta, veg chips wedges there was freshly baked bread out which was delicious and a full fruit selection. Even the fussiest of eaters would find something. Breakfast was fine, the buffet contained boiled & fried eggs, omelettes, sausages, beans, toast , bacon, mushrooms etc also a selection of pastries, yoghurts and fruit. They also had out long baguttes which I seen a few people making up with salad and meats and sneaking in their handbags for lunch. We got a taxi from Reus airport to Piramides and it cost 30 euros, its only 10 mins away, on the way back we were told about the aeroport bus which when booked by reception picks you up from outside the hotel and only cost 5.40 each. Sol Piramides was excellent value for money, great food lovely big rooms and big big balconies. We would definately book again.

We have enyoid our stay in the Sol Piramide Salou and have been very satisfied with the food on half bord basis. Pool and rooms have been clean but sometimes during weekend we got some noise from people in the street getting passed from a Disco visit early in the morning. The Gym was not worth of a 4 Star hotel but maybe not that important for everybody. Main reason to choose this particular hotel was that in the descriptions it is mentioned that every room would have Internet but there are only Computer in the Lobby area and for an hour it would cost 9 Euro. This was quite disapointing. The staff in the Lobby and Restaurants was frendly and entertainement for the late season was ok.

Great Holiday - Thanks

My husband and I have just returned from a weeks break ( 21-28 September 2007). We were very impressed with the cleanliness of the hotel including the pool area. The hotel is situated within easy walking distance of Salou town and the beach. The choice of food was excellent, we ate at the hotel every morning and evening. We enjoyed the couple of evening entertainment we stayed in for. We particularly enjoyed the pool, being late in the season the pool was chilly but not too cold to swim in, the pool area provided plenty of sunbeds and sunshades, although you could have found shade during the day round the pool which was very important for my husband! We found the staff to be friendly and helpful. We thoroughly eboyed our break at the Sol Piramide Salou and are already planning a return trip! Pat and Malcolm Moffatt

Not For Us

30 June 2007
This was our first visit to the 'Sol Piramide Salou' and first impressions were that it was a well presented hotel. The location was excellent, with the beach, shops and bars within easy walking distance. The cleaniness of the hotel was very good, however our biggest complaint was the standard of food. Having stopped in other 4* sol hotels, this compared as no more that a 3*. The choice of food was minimal. We only ate in the resturant once and decided to eat out thereafter. However on a positive note, I would return in the future, but only on a BB basis.

My second trip this year.

No fault can be given to the hotel. Everything was great.

On my third night I went back to my room and a basket of fruit had arrived. This was a thankyou from the managment for my repeat business.

We were extremely happy with our 7day stay in the "Sol Piramide Hotel" staff were very helpful and pleasant. The food was very enjoyable. The kids entertainment was a bit of a let down for a 4* hotel as we had our 7yr old daughter with us and there was very little activities organised for her especially in the evening for e.g kids mini disco only lasted 30mins from 9-9.30pm nightly.Would not let that deter us thiugh as the hotel was centrally located and within walking distance of the beach, theme park and other amenities would definitely recommend to freinds and familys.

Review of 'SOL PIRAMIDE SALOU'

10 June 2006
Just got back from 1 week at Sol Piramide, and do not rate it at 4 star. Good hotel, very clean and would stay there again, but I have 2 gripes about the place.1 The pool does not get any sun on it until around 2pm meaning the water is very cold.2 The food- some of the dishes were in my opinion not warm enough, and some nights there was not much choice unless you like fish.

Review of 'SOL PIRAMIDE SALOU'

29 May 2006
We have just returned from a weekend break at the Sol Piramide, Salou, and we had a brilliant time.  The resort of Salou is a 10 minute transfer from Reus airport (we flew with Ryanair), and the hotel itself is a short walk from the bars and shops that lead down to the beach.

The rooms were clean and spacious, and looked freshly painted. Free safe hire was a welcome bonus.  My personal first impression of our room wan tainted by the view from the balcony. A spanish apartment block was metres away, and even on the 6th floor we were overlooked.  But the actual hotel was perfectly adequate as a base.

The food - in my opinion not worthy of 4 star status for food, it wasn't inspiring food, in the least.  A selection of pastries, cooked breakfast, and salad/ham etc for breakfast ensured everyone found something suitable, but the evening meal was not enjoyable.  Not that it bothered us, we went in the one day, helped ourselves to a plateful, then on trying a few mouthfuls decided to give it a miss and went down to the seafront instead.

The swimming pool was a little cold, but there was a good amount of sunbeds available.  A kids club was running, which the children participating in looked to be enjoying.  There was a pool bar, which was a bit pricey, and entertainment throughout the day/evening.

We found it fine for us (a couple) for a weekend, although I wouldn't have wanted to take the children there for a week or more.  The reception staff were very helpful, giving us a choice of rooms, calling us a taxi to the airport, showing us a map of the area and telling us the best spots etc.

All in all I would say this hotel is worthy of a 4 star in respect of its rooms, pool, location and services, but not the food.  The area of Salou is brilliant - loads to do for families and couples (and singles!) alike.

Review of 'SOL PIRAMIDE SALOU'

05 October 2005
My daughter and I have returned from a five day break staying at the Sol Piramide hotel.
We found the hotel location was very good in pleasant surroundings and it was more than we expected. The staff from reception to the maids etc were very obliging. We found the bedrooms were very clean and service was excellent.
The food could not be faulted - meat and fish were cooked in front of you to your own taste and we were spoilt for choice.
Hopefully we will be able to return for a longer holiday next year as we found Salou a good holiday location for all ages - we would certainly go back to the Sol Piramide.
May I add that the Airport transfer you offered to us was really great - the timing was good, it took the strain of worrying about taxi,s etc.
A big thank you to Robert and Simon who helped me with the bookings when I slipped up with the time of my flight.

I was very pleases with the rooms and the room servicing but this hotel should not be rated as a 4 star. Ifound the facilities were minimal. The pool bar was open from 10 until 8 pm. But if you were going to dinner you do not want to go the for a pre dinner drink in good clothes. Drink prices as expected in a hotel expensive and bar staff had no clue about the way to serve some drinks. Dinner was a joke. I had half board and only ate in the hoter two nights dinner. For example a 4 star hotel should not offer frozen hamburgers as main dinner course and frozen everything else. Hot and cold foods were displayed side by side in saying that most of the hot food was cold. Choice of dishes very un imaginative. Perhaps the chef only trained to run a chipper and a bad one at that.
Finally attitude of management totally un customer
Example one of the days we had thunder and lightning with torrential rain all day and management did not see fit to accommadate customers anywhere but at pool bar in the freezing cold. People with children were unable to go out due to lack of taxies and no alternative was offered ie open the main bar a small bit of cop on would have gone a long way.
It would be my opinion the the management of the Sol Hotel group is take it or leave it there will be plenty more coming along to take your place. I have stayed several times with the Barcelo group of hotels and their thee star rated hotels are streets ahead. My rating would be 2 star at a push.
