VALUE FOR MONEY

19 July 2008
HAD A VERY PLEASENT WEEK HERE. VERY CLOSE TO EVERYTHING. FOUND THE ROOMS TO BE BASIC BUT CLEAN. STAFF FRIENDLY AND HELPFUL. SHOULD POINT OUT THAT THERE IS A GATE BY THE POOL THAT TAKES YOU ONTO MAIN BEACH FRONT, WE DIDN'T NOTICE THIS UNTIL 2 ND DAY WHICH CUT OUT ABOUT A 150 STEPS IF YOU LEFT BY THE FRONT ENTRANCE TO HOTEL. ON THE WHOLE, WOULD RECOMMEND IT.

Too many Cockroaches

30 June 2008
This hotel was just ok, to be fair the pool area and the general hotel area was lovely, however the rooms were very basic and not very clean. The bathroom was a bit cringe worthy just needed a proper clean! But the main problem for me was the cockroaches, during our 7 night stay we had four massive cockroaches in our room, got to the stage where I could sleep worrying where the next one was hiding!! but besides the rooms being in need off a good scrub and the bugs the rest of the hotel was nice and the location was ideal!

These apartments were great. Absolutely spotless. All staff were very friendly. not enough sunbeds. Great location as very close to beach, shops, bars and restaurants. can walk to magaluf in 5 mins if you want it more lively. Lots of families and couples. We had a studio which I was quite worried about for space with 4 of us but was fine. Good for size. Would like to see some entertainment on in the apartments as most places didn't start the entertainment till 11pm which was too late for the kids therefore our holiday was a lot quieter than expected.

Excellent

19 June 2008
Great cheap apartments if you are looking for the lively nightlife of somewhere like Maguluf while still being able to get a good nights sleep! A decent beach is basically 2 min walk from hotel and 5-10 mins to night spots. Good hotel for young couples or slightly more mature groups 25+. Probably not so great for stag/hen parties looking to be constantly entertained.

Fantastic

16 June 2008
Didn't expect too much from these apartments but got a very pleasant surprise when we arrived. Apt over-looking the pool which was basic but had all the essentials, was very clean!!! Lunamar apts are right in the heart of everything, minute walk to the beach and about 3 mins walk to the lively night spots!! Would definitely recommend these apartments to young and old!! We would definitely return here :o)

We stayed at these apartments from the 17-24 May along with our son & daghter in law & grandson (16 months) & there may be a few things people should know. If you book with 'another company' as we did,we notified them that an infant was traveling with our party & requested a cot for there apartment but upon arrival we were told the hotel had not been informed & a cot had to be found which took a couple of hours. Also as per some previous reviews there is still building work going on at the rear of the hotel. Apparently there are 3 apartment blocks being built & if you are unfortunate & end up in apartments ending in 22-38 on any of the floors you will be facing the building work & it can be extremly noisy. Fortunatly we both had rooms that were facing away from this. As for the hotel itself all the staff were very helpful & rooms very clean, 50 Mtrs to the beach from the back gate & all the amenities you would want are close by so for the price pretty good base for your holiday. Will book my next holiday with Alpharooms to avoid any of the above mistakes next time.

Stayed here in May 08 it was a nice break away from kids for us and was unsure as to how it would be booking on internet. I was surprised by the organisation of it all! The hotel is in a great spot for everything u need, the staff very helpfull and always very clean. The pool are was very nice and when lit up at night it looks lovely. Ther is not and entertainment in the hotel but so much in the area it didnt matter. I would also recommend the shuttle service offered on this website it was very organised and prompt. We had a wounderfull holiday and will be going again with kids as well.

ASH & DEE

16 January 2008
We stayed here in October 2007 roooms are clean and plenty of room to move around, the position of the hotel could not be better its away from any noise and, yet just fifty metres from the beach, eating out was cheap enough two euro for breakfast just up the road all in all a great place to stay, and a the price is right with alpharooms we are going back there in 2008 its all a matter of opinion when it comes to reviews, but I have stayed in loads of hotels and for the price this will take some beating, Palma Nova's hidden gem on a budget.

Recomended

20 October 2007
We had a pleasant stay. The room was lovely and clean, has everything you need such as kettle toaster hobs, Although no oven or microwave. It had good running shower and bath if you fancy. It also had a very sunny terrace. It has English T.V so you can keep up to date with the soaps if you so wished. Dont forget your hair dryer ladies, and also your plug adapter for southern Europe. We went in October so bit chilly for the pool although it seemed well kept along with the bar area also. Staff seemed friendly enough and spoke English. The best thing i found was the rental of cars, we had a panda for the whole day for 39 Euros which is the cheapest by far from anywhere in palma nova. We manages to go to porta christo and the Inka market and spent the whole day just cruising. So yes 10/10 for our holls this year and will gladly go back again. Debs

Fantastic Holiday

15 October 2007
What a fantastic holiday!! We were really pleased with our room, it was a good size and was very clean. We were on the 3rd floor which is great if you have children as it is on the same level as the pool, so no lifts or stairs, when you forget things. We have an 8 month old and was pleasently suprised to find that we could hire babywalkers, highchairs etc etc from reception at a very good rate. We made a mistake on the first night (but we had had a 6 hr delay) and we went out the front of the hotel looking for something to eat and we ended up on the tail end of Magaluffs nightlife, not good!! In the morning i remembered from the reviews that you could go out of the pool gates and what a fantastic suprise that was. You are only 1 minute from the beautiful beach and all the resturants are on your doorstep. You must try the F&C resturant (the one with the BIG BBQ at the front) the food, especially the steaks were out of this world, staff were lovely too. Diana's beach bar had lovely staff and food was brilliant. We spent most of nights in Monroes, which was a Karaoke bar but for older people and not the youngsters. It was a lovely atmosphere in there, half of the place was non smoking which suited us being with our son. The holiday on the whole was brilliant, the weather was stunning the resort was fantastic, the Sol Lunamar was in a brilliant location and we would definatley go back again. Palma is defiantley worth a bus trip, it gets very busy on the buses though so expect to stand, not good when you have a heavy baby! If you get off at the Catherdral then your bus stop to get back is over the main road on the same side as the Catherdral, i think it is the 104 bus, we had trouble finding it. You could not ask for a better location you literally are 1 minute from Palma Nova's nightlife and about 3 minutes from Magaluff.

Great Location and Great Place to stay

27 September 2007
I always go on first impressions, and my first impression of the Sol Luminar Appartments was, clean, tidy and helpful staff. Did it it get any better. Yes. Rooms were spacious and comfortable with everything you needed. I was very pleased with the size of the balcony over looking the pool. Very pleasing to the eye especially at night as it was all lit up. The area around the pool was secure so it would be great for couples with small children as you need a pass to get out of the gate which leads to Palma Nova. 1 minute walk from a beautiful and clean beach and about 5 mins walk from the magaluf night scene. This was the first time my wife and I habe ever booked a break over the internet and i must say how easy everything was. I would definitley go back to this location and use alpharooms again. Thank you and enjoy.

Just mention Alpharooms

26 September 2007
Check out your light fittings before nightfall. We reported them early afternoon and nothing happened. We again reported them around 8pm and was told by insolent reception man that we should have reported it again one hour later so therefore it was our fault. My husband had to hold a lighter so that I could get things from my case. There is a safety issue with a too short kettle flex and only one socket near floor level. Next morning the manager, housekeeper and maintenance man came up to our room after I had shown the same guy at reception an e-mail from Alpharooms with the emergency number on it. All items were sorted out right away.

the good , the bad and the ugly

18 September 2007
Great location-if you want lively go or stay in Magaluf.Rooms adequate although beds are hard, cooking facilities need bringing into 21st century. On ceiling 20 plus squashed mosquitos when we arrived-informed reception but still there when we left. Shower and bath water only lukewarm. One card key to enter complex and room not enough as this restricts your movements if one of you stays in!No card --no electric ! Only 4 coat hangers --not enough ! Only one member of reception staff friendly.Another member of reception speaks very little English so it was difficult to be understood. Not allowed own food or drink around pool area.Bar only had burgers one day---poor selection.Pool tiles very scummy around waters edge.Shower in pool area not working.Sunbeds never cleaned. When booked requested certain floor and room---didnt get anywhere near. Some rooms have view blocked by trees. Some rooms overlooking building site thats been going on for 18months.Cleaning staff friendly and good serice with towels changed every other day and apartment tidied at same time.Use Bips supermarket 200 yds away as local ones very expensive in comparison.Catch a bus at front of apartments((pool end) to Palma.2 mins to beach.Door for disabled access was broken and wheelchair user had to manouver step to get out of apartment.Repaired after 3 days.Extra cents put on ost of daily newspaper--20 cents cheaper over road.Keyboard on pc needs letters replacing--worn out.A little bit more effort and the problems could be resolved.I will stay here again.

Great place to stay

13 September 2007
Just got back from a brilliant holiday at these apartments. Rooms basic but everything you need, safe, air con utensils etc and are clean. Pool area lovely and plenty of sunbeds even later on in the day. The beach is a 2 minute walk away and there is a door for hotel guests only which leads out onto main strip. There are plenty of bars and restaurants on the doorstep. We went into magalluf most nights which was only a short walk away if you want it a bit more lively. I would definitely recommend this place and will be coming back in the future.

Great Holiday

11 July 2007
Have just returned back from this holiday yesterday (10.7.07) can definitely recommend this as a place to stay. Accommodation clean all kitchen facilities provided, beds not too bad to sleep on, rooms cleaned every 2 days. In a brilliant location close to all amenities plenty to do/eat/see. Beach/sea really nice and about 1 minute walk from the complex. Pool nice although rather deep (but there is a toddler pool as well so great fun in there for young children. Only noise was from people going home of a night but nothing to complain about. Will DEFINITELY be going again.

Very impressed!

11 July 2007
The room was basic, but had everything we needed like air con and fridge etc. We stayed on 6th floor and had a fantastic view, looking right over the pool! Pool is a good size and the pool bar is very convenient. The staff were nice too, especially those at the bar. Although we were only a walk from the main nightlife of magaluf, we always got a good nights sleep and weren't kept awake by all the noise! Overall a very good holiday!

OK

07 July 2007
You get what you pay for. Fairly basic amenities. Towels changed every 2 days. We booked a double and we got 1 single bed and a couch in a studio so we had to move the furniture around. Mattresses were spongey. Receptionist rather unfriendly. That said, the location is great. Balcony looks on to the pool, lots of sun beds, pool's deep. Air con, tv, fridge, safe are all there.

10 November 2006
The apartment was exceptionally clean, cleaning staff discreet. Reception staff were pleasant and helpful.   Small, quiet apartment complex. Quiet area, great for peace at night. Nice pool area. 2 minutes walk to beach. 10-15 minute walk to centre of Palma Nova, tourist info office, taxi rank, buses to Palma.

Review of 'SOL LUNAMAR APARTMENTS'

09 October 2006
Me my partner and my 13 year old son stayed in these apartments at the end of September for 8 nights we could not fault this Hotel in anyway. The rooms are basic but for the price are very good value for money.
The Staff on reception were really nice and spoke very good English and were very helpful, it was not very busy when we went so did not struggle for sun longers around the pool. The pool area is kept clean and tidy the food is not bad, we only ate there once has it is much cheaper down on the front in the bars.
I would advice when booking these Apartments you ask for a Pool view otherwise you may be situated at the back of the Hotel facing the Roadside which is a bit boring. The Hotel is situated in a really good spot you can go out of the main entrance and turn left which brings you onto the main strip, or you can go down to the Pool and there is a gate that leads to the strip and the Beach which is literally just a 2 minute walk away, also the Bus to Palma city is on the strip too i would advice a trip out there for the shopping and the sight seeing as there are some lovely cathedrals out there  .
Both Palma Nova and Maguluf Beaches are really nice and clean,Just a warning beware of the JellyFish in Magaluf My Husband got stung pretty badly on the arm it maybe that it was just a seasonal thing, we did not see any in Palm Nova Sea.Would definatly go back to this Hotel if we were to go back to Palma Nova.

Review of 'SOL LUNAMAR APARTMENTS'

08 October 2006
Nice apartments. Clean and tidy with everything you need.  Beds could do with an upgrade but not too bad.  Swimming pool looks lovely from a distance but needs a good scrub.  Sunbeds are uncomfortable and many are broken but we spent most days on the beautiful beach nearby with clear waters and fish swimming around you. (9 euros a day for beds with a parasol for two weeks worked out pricey.)

Go out the back of the apartments and you are in palma nova.  Out the front entrance and down the road a few minutes walk is Magaluf and a whole different resort.  There are a large number of stairs to the pool and bar and to the back entrance to Palma Nova. Not suitable for disabled!.  The gates are supposed to lock at 1am but we found them locked much earlier meaning a walk of about 6 flights of stairs

One guy on reception is really grumpy but the rest are nice.  The bar is really quiet but they are really nice although one barman at the pool always seemed to play music really loud and drowned out my own.  The cleaners never bother you and towels every other day and beds are made.  The bathroom was spotlessly clean but the bath and some of the fixtures could do with upgrading as it was not up to the standard I expect from Sol Melia properties

On the whole these apartmetns were in a great position and I would definitely go back. I hope Sol Melia upgrade these apartments soon.  However, they are reasonably priced and my holiday was not affected.

Review of 'SOL LUNAMAR APARTMENTS'

23 August 2006
Myself and my friend stayed in Lunamar apartments from 15 - 22 July. The rooms are basic and compact but they have everything you need for S/C (toaster, kettle, fridge/freezer, cuttlery and plates etc), they also have a TV. The balcony is a good size, air con and a safe are also available for a returnable deposit (ask at reception). The hotel was quiet when we arrived, mainly families, but did get busier with some younger groups and couples. The apartments are in a perfect location as there is the option for a quite night in palmanova with lovely restaurants (F & C being our favorite!) or the oposite in magaluf for bars and clubs, both only 5 minute walk from the apartments.  The pool is a good size although it could do with a bit of a clean around the edges! Food is available from the pool bar.  There is also a bar inside which is aircontioned and has a TV. We was given a room at the back of the hotel which over looked the road and some building works, it wasn't noisy and it wasn't a problem for us but if you want a better view ask for a room overlooking the pool. All in all it was a brilliant holiday and we would definitley go back!

Great hotel & location - only 2 mins away from beach and shops/bars etc. Rooms quite basic but clean and most importantly air conditioned! We requested a room with balcony overlooking pool when booking, which we got and also a great sea view! Pool great but recommend you take extra towel for padding if use sun loungers (!) and get to beach before 10.30 if you want a sun lounger there. Lovely clean beach. Great location for families as palma nova on doorstep and young couples/groups only 5 mins walk to lively bars in Magaluf. Taxi approx 30 euros from airport. Cheap buses to palma if you want a day out. Very helpful reception staff. Note there's a refundable deposit for air con & tv remotes. Would definitely stay at Sol Lunamar again!

APARTMENTS LOCATED CENTRALLY ON THE BORDERS OF PALMA NOVA AND MAGALLUF. QUITE SMALL BUT NICE BIG BALCONIES AND AIR-CONDITIONING WITH A 10 EURO RETURNABLE DEPOSIT. REQUEST A ROOM OVERLOOKING THE POOL AS OUTLOOK IS BETTER AND NO NOISE FROM ROAD AT REAR.  PRETTY HORSESHOE SHAPED POOL BUT COULD HAVE BEEN CLEANER AT TIMES.  THERE IS FOOD AVAILABLE BUT THEY DON'T SEEM TO ADVERTISE THE FACT.  ALTOGETHER GOOD VALUE FOR MONEY AND LOCATION WAS HARD TO BEAT

Apartments plain but clean, towels and beds well serviced, free aircon and it doesnt go off when you leave the room. Ample lifts and they work!
