Just Returned home from this hotel , had a great holiday no thanks to this hotel. The hotel was not bad much more catered to the older generation. Staff were not very pleasent. Got Up to our room and opened the door to find an earldery couple sitting on their sofa in our allocated room ( frights all round) . After that was eventually sorted we were given a twin room when a double was requested we were also greeted with a broken light hanging down from the ceiling wires on show. Not exactly what we were expecting from our so called 4* hotel. The situation with sun loungers was diabolical , if your werent up by half 6 to put out you towel yoo were on the floor =)) !! Also wasted countless euros on broken pool tabels and vending machines in the hotel. Breakfast Had a good variety of food diner on the other hand was dissapointing lived on chips for nine nights. Hope this is helpful.

Excellent, would definitely go back. I can't fault the food, the room was good with separate bedroom to living area. Great if youve got kids to put to bed. Good location, within walking distance of marina and a good range of bars close by.

Comfortable and Friendly

14 June 2008
We have just returned from our 6th visit to this hotel over the last 15 years. It has always been comfortable and friendly with an excellent buffet restaurant. The standard is as good now as always. Great location, though car parking can be a problem, particularly at weekends.

Brilliant

03 June 2008
We have just returned from a 9 night stay at this hotel. It was really lovely. The food was fantastic, excellent choice. The rooms were really large with a seperate lounge area. They were cleaned every day with clean towels as well. For 10 euros you can get a beach towel (a clean one every day if you want) you get the 10 euros back when you hand the towel in, great for saving space in your suitcase. The location is fantastic, out of the gate and your on the beach! We are booking again for September. Would highly recommend this hotel.

Great food, rooms and location

01 June 2008
First time at this hotel and it was as good as any we have stayed at. Food was varied and delicious although waiter service a bit over-attentive! The rooms were large and consisted of lounge with bed settee, double bedroom with en-suite bathroom(good shower) and small kitchenette area with (free) fridge. Safety deposit box is 11 Euros for the week including 3 Euros refundable deposit. Pools are large and quite deep but cold! The small games room requires attention particularly the ripped carpet around the table tennis table and equipment was not in good condition. Evening entertainment was acceptable aimed more towards elderly guests but bar prices on the steep side (Best to take advantage of the Happy hours during the day). All in all a good clean well positioned hotel with decent food and great rooms worthy of its 4* rating. Booking through Alpharooms was also hassle free.

Review of 'SOL ALOHA PUERTO'

30 May 2008
Two adults and one 6 year old child. This hotel is always extremely good value and the location of the hotel is excellent for the beach, and with the marina and friendly bars close by. The staff were friendly and welcoming, we booked half board but we usually like to dine out, as we have found that dinner in the hotels we have previously stopped in have sometimes been disappointing, this was not the case for the Aloha, food is plentiful and enough variety to suit all tastes. Now for the moans, as usual there are the selfish discourteous people who must sneak out in the middle of the night with towels to reserve their own ‘personal’ sun beds around the pool, I don’t know what the policy is for the hotel but I would personally like to gather all the towels up and throw them in the middle of the pool.

We have just returned from a 9 day holiday. Fantastic location close to the Marina and the beach is just outside the hotel gate. The food was very good. The rooms were lovely and spacious and the maid service was the best I have come across. Will definatley stay here again. Lastly thanks again alpharooms for a great deal, the best price around.

Super as always

14 May 2008
Excellent value, position, standard hotel again, this being our third year there. Right next to the Marina which is always bustling and fun at night. The hotel rooms spacious and spotless & rooms cleaned daily. Staff helpful. There is some outside noise late at night since the locals party on the promenade till the early hours. Toilet flushing can be heard from neighbouring rooms but no more so than other 4* hotels we have stayed in. All in all, excellent value for money, will always be happy to return at the drop of a hat! Hard to beat for position, quality and price! Looking forward to our next visit.

hi, stayed in hotel for 4 days, hotel is very clean and the service is excellent, staff are friendly, i had half board, plenty of food, basic food not too exciting but not bad, reccomend staying in one of the blocks away from main road if you dont want to listen to karaoke in the small hours, walls are to thick so if you have noisy neighbours youll hear every word. overall id reccomend this hotel, nearest rail station is el pinillio its about 20mins walk if your feeling energetic,

This hotel is always extremely good value. Situated close to the Marina on the promenade and with a good choice of food close to a number of popular watering/eating holes. We have now stayed here 5 times and we are never disappointed. The staff are consistently helpful and very attentive. The bedrooms are suites and have a fridge which is a luxury (you need to purchase 20 items to set up the fridge - 20 euros). There's plenty of space in the bedrooms and the Maid Service superb.

Good Hotel

26 April 2008
Just returned from a short break (6 days) and enjoyed it very much. Hotel is in a good location and is very comfortable. Stayed in this hotel 11 years ago and I don't think the living room furniture has been renewed in that time. Very comfortable though and very clean. Food is not as good as I had hoped but there was quite a good choice e.g. fish, meat, pasta etc. Go for the salmon which is very good and the chips have to be mentioned (brilliant) even though I am not normally a chip eater. We don't tend to lie around the pool every day but when we wanted sun beds late afternoon we had no problem getting them. Don't take beach towels because they are provided by the hotel and ladies don't bother with hairdryers because the one's in the hotel bathrooms are good. The hotel is in one of the best area's and the bars opposite are worth a visit. Go into Torremolinos and try some of the bodega bars for tapas or try the chiringitos along the beach front out of the back of the hotel.

Nice but Noisy

23 April 2008
My partner and I have just come back from a 4 day break at the hotel. First impressions are welcoming. Food is plentiful and enough variety to suit all tastes, staff helpful. Being April, the hotel was not busy so there were available sunbeds around the pool but would be a 5am towels on beds in high season. Our room was clean but the furniture was in need of updating. My biggest moan is the very poor standard of insulation between rooms and floors. You could hear other toilets being flushed. Also staying at the side of the building, you can hear karoke from the bars in the streets 8 floors below. The windows need to be double glazed. Perfect location for the beach with the Marina closeby which is worth going to for drinks or dinner.

Great Location

20 April 2008
My husband and I have just returned from a 4 day break at the Sol Aloha Puerto. The location of the hotel is excellent and the best I have stayed in, situated straight on the promenade and next to the Marina. The room was good and cleaned daily, with a great view of the sea front. The choice of food was excellent and quality good. I would reccomend this hotel and hope to visit again soon.

The Best

02 February 2008
This is the 6th time I have stayed at this hotel. I have stayed on my own on a business trip I have stayed with my partner and also my elderly father. The location is first class the staff are excellent they cant do enough for you. Pool area is a little on the small size for such a big hotel. Food is very good and plentiful, Rooms are cleaned daily but could do with new furniture but its not really a problem Bar is Expensive but there are loads of little bars over the road which are good, if you go in Mr jeeves steve and kat make you very welcome and is the torremolinos equivelant to Gala Bingo afternoons and evenings. Also Ian and Elaine at Rumours Bar are really nice people for a good pint in pleasant surroundings. If you do go in please remember me (Joe)to them. It really is the best hotel in the area....Book it you wont be sorry and Alpharooms was by far the cheapest price...

Probably best on the area

30 December 2007
This was my sixth christmas in Torremolinos, though first time in this hotel, but always on the same area. This is final Hotel on the side of Torremolinos. After couple of meters there will be the border of Benalmadena. Well, that´s really just trivial information. Hotel is recommendable; it is clean, the staff is very professional and nice, the situation is I would say among the best, if you want to stay on the beach-area. I dropped the last star away firstly because hotel isn´t anymore quite new and it needs some modernification and secondly because even the restaurant has huge selection of foods it kind of needs help from Gordon Ramsay. I mean that especially the warm foods weren´t on the level of the hotel and also the restaurant should also be modernified to more homely place. But service is very good, also the room-service works fine. At this time of year the customers of the hotel were mostly olderly people, but that equals to whole Torremolinos at winter time. Even so, the hotel offered different kind of entertainment for kids (and for the rest also) at daytime and shows like flamenco and even something more daring (drag-queens) for adults at evening. The hotel is worth of trying, I propably will stay my next christmas-time again in Sol Aloha Puerto.

Book this hotel!

25 October 2007
This is the third time i've stayed here and i can honestly say you can't fault anything about this hotel. The only negative aspect in my opinion is the size of the pool area, as the hotel has three blocks. I was away with my sister and we love relaxing in the sun. We could not get a sunbed by the pool for the entire week, so we had to beach it everyday... how awful!! Gorgeous beach, just yards from hotel but could not see any lifeguards on there. The hotel was very clean, and the staff are very friendly and helpful. My parents were staying there at same time and we went to surprise them for their wedding anniversary. The staff put a bottle of champagne in their room to commemorate this event. We were H/B and the restaurant was very busy all wk, but the staff never stopped working, making sure everything was topped up. Great selection of food for breakfast and dinner, something for everyone, even the fussiest of eaters. Most of the bars in resort are English and is well priced. If you like Spanish food, there are lots of Chiringuito's ( beach bars/restaurants) that serve spanish food. Had a great time, and will defo book it again in the future. Enjoy..

Hotel was very clean and pleasant-food very wide and varied choice- rooms spacious and well equipped-pool lovely- the only dowside is that we had a room overlooking the road with the various bars and clubs and this was very noisy until the early hours resulting in disturned sleep with the noise!! so beware- suggest you ask for pool side rooms to avoid the noise... hope this has been helpful---

Have just returned from a week long stay at this hotel which was very relaxing. The location is second to none overlooking the sea and very close to the marina at Benalmadena. There is a lovely promenade to walk along into Torremolinos also with lots of restaurants and bars along the way. There is a lot to do in the area for families you have got Paloma Park in Benalmadena which is a very beautiful park with peacocks strutting around. There is also Tivoli World theme park and countless other attractions, too many to list. The hotel itself was lovely and very clean, our room was cleaned daily with clean towels provided. The restaurant was great with a good selection of food and we didn't have any problems finding something for our 4 year old to enjoy, who in particular loved the pancakes each morning. The hotel also has a happy hour each day which we only found out about on our last day, a shame. The rooms are lovely with a separate living area with a fridge which was great. The TV did show mainly Spanish channels however there was sky news, bbc news 24 and also BBC 1 which was not listed as one of the channels but we found it. The staff at the hotel were very friendly and great with our son and gave him sweets every night on leaving the restaurant. All in all a great hotel with great food in a brilliant location and we thought it was an absolute bargain booking through Alpha Rooms.

Short Break

23 May 2007
Just returned from a 4 night break at this hotel and very much enjoyed the stay. The hotel is in 3 blocks - block 3 has the best views, and we were on the 8th floor of block 2.We had good views and the room was clean although some of the fittings, particularily the TV were ancient. Food was of a high standard with plenty of choice.Staff were efficient and some of them friendly also. To get a sunbed around the pool is not possible unless yoy are up at dawn. There are also gardens which have sunbeds but no umbrellas which when the temperature is 29Deg C means you will fry if you are not carefull. There is however an excellent beach 20 metres away so you can hire 2 sunbeds and an umbrella for 8 euros. The hotel has a fantastic location next to the marina of Benalmadena.A nightly walk around this area is a delight especially when you can feed the fish who literally climb over themselves to get at bread thrown in the water. Overall an excellent hotel and we will probably return for a longer stay next year.

Review of 'Sol Aloha Puerto'

10 May 2007
My husband & I stayed at this hotel during the first week of May. The room - a mini suite with separate lounge area/TV - was very clean & adequately furnished. The morning & evening buffets had a wide variety of food on offer - mostly very well presented & cooked - except for the steak which was, on the 3 occasions we had it, consistently tough - & the green veg were rather watery. Other than that the food compared very favourably with another 4 star hotel I had stayed in recently. It really was a very good place to stay - & in an excellent location - the last hotel right on the promenade before Torremolinos becomes Benalmadina. The only thing that was definitely not 4 star were the plastic roses on the restaurant tables. I have been in 3 star hotels that did better than that!!

Review of 'Sol Aloha Puerto'

02 March 2007
The Sol Aloha Puerto was the venue for our first holiday abroad as a family.  We were allocated this hotel on arrival, we did not know where we were going to stay.  From the very first moment, we were more than happy, the Spanish staff were at all times polite and helpful.  The restaurant staff were an absolute pleasure, we stayed early in the season (March) and every guest was a pensioner, we were concerned that our children might be the cause of complaints, but they were so well behaved and the other guests kept complimenting us on the children (2 boys aged 9 & 13. The hotel rooms were lovely and the hotel is perfectly situated between Torremolinos and Benalmadenas Costa and of course being 100m from the beach was ideal. The only downside of our stay was the Thomson rep, she was never around, was very slow to sort trips out and when my husband injured his back (wave jumping daft ?) it was the Spanish reception staff who helped us find a doctor and call for an ambulance, the rep was no where to be found.  Top marks for this hotel i cant wait to go back this year.

Great summer!!

27 August 2006
We just came from a 10 days stay at this wonderful hotel.  The rooms are very confortable with a living room where our daughter slept.  There is a large TV and internet connection. Also minibar.  We could see the beach from the terrace.  The bathroom has hair dryer and all complements like shampoo, shower gel, body cream, facial tissues, etc.

We had breakfast and lunch/dinner at the hotel (you can choose lunch or dinner which is difficult to find in other hotels)  The buffe was quite complete with all kinds of food.  You have live cooking and even an italian corner with pizzas, spaguetti, etc.

The hotel is very well located in front of the beach and the paseo maritimo, where you will find all kinds of restaurants (even a Burger King), bars and shops.  At a 5 min walk you can visit the Marina and Benalmadena.  Right in front of the hotel you will find a taxi stop and also a bus stop that can take you to the town.

The staff of the hotel is great, very nice and helpful for anything you might need.

We just came and are looking forward to returning.  I strongly recommend this hotel if you want to spend an unforgetable stay.

We found this hotel up to the 4 * standards for facilities, cleanliness and helpful staff. The position next to the Marina and the promenade was great. We could walk into Torremelenos and Benalmedena within 10 to 15 minutes, great for walking off too much food. We liked the room having a suite with seperate bedroom from the sitting area, giving us some privacy from our teenage daughter. This time of year there were many senior residents with a mixture of British and predominatly Spanish residents. There was no fighting for sunbeds although I could see in the height of summer there would not be enough room or beds to go around, especially if there were more children around. The food catered for all tastes including a diet section with plenty of choices. Prices for drinks and snacks reasonable, certainly not overpriced compared to some 4* hotels. The entertainment was of a mixed variety trying to cater for seniors to the very young is a hard act to be successful at, some acts were good others not so. I would recommend this hotel for a visit at this time of year and look forward to returning soon.

We stayed 16-21 March and couldn't have wished for a better hotel. We knew the place would be good judging by reviews we'd already read - but this hotel really is superb.

The room we had was excellant, with a en suite living room - and we had BBC ONE also! , (which was just as well because it rained for 2 whole days!!).

The food was excellant - loads to choose from - at breakfast and at dinner time.

The staff were really friendly and helpful - a credit to the hotel.

We'll definately stay there again, hopefully it will be sunnier next time.

Welcome 8 day break

19 February 2006
We were extremeley pleased with the hotel's facilities, the friendly staff, the lovely buffet meals and especially the wonderful location - 2 skips and a hop and you are on the beach.  It would have been brilliant if the kids clubs had been operational but being February it didn't happen We had a 5 year old grandaughter with us who would have loved it but apart from that the staff were very tolerant and always greeted her by name and made her feel special, for that I thank them all.  The weather was good for that time of year, we only had 1 wet day and loads of lovely warm sunshine.  The pool was heated so not too bad, but when you got out of the pool it felt almost icy - so either stay in a long time or wait till the summer.

This is the second time I have stayed at the Sol Aloha Puerto, and same as the time before I have no complaints. They have a great selection of foods, the rooms are kept tidy and clean at all times. The hotel is situated within reach of quite a good selection of bars, and the hotel bar and entertainment is good. This is a good hotel for people with young babies looking for a relaxing holiday, as the vast majority of people here are of the older generation (still now how to enjoy themselves though!!)

Review of 'SOL ALOHA PUERTO'

13 October 2005
Have just returned home from the Aloha Puerto and found it very enjoyable.  The rooms were mini suites and very clean. Bedding changed evry 3 days and towels every day. Food was very good and plentiful, something to suit every taste.&
