Wanted a break/enjoy Spanish football

I was very very happy withe the hotel. This was my first holiday as a solo traveller and it totally fit the bill. I liked the modern decor, the room was huge and very nice - and excellent value for money. The staff were helpful - I arrived in the rain 10 minutes before kick off never having been to Valencia before and they were soooo helpful! Very convenient for FC Valencia too. And a short walk to the City of Arts & Sciences. Recommended

Fantastic Hotel
07 February 2008
This hotel has got fantastic rooms with luxurious bathrooms, large comfortable beds and great service. The location is perfect, it's only a 15-20 minute walk to the old city centre. We would certainly recommend this hotel to anyone who visits this beautiful city!

Great hotel in a good location with enough Tapas bars to keep it interesting if you don't want to travel into the old town at night(full of youngsters anyway). If you stay here during Fallas opt for a front facing room as the ones on the side are subject to live music until late during the fiesta.

Review of 'SILKEN PUERTA DE VALENCIA'

Fantastic rooms & bathrooms with good TV & internet connection. We stayed 4 nights. Linen was changed after two. Breakfast was good, but not a patch on Silken Al Andalus (Seville)Breakfast room small and very smoky. Hot food was not replaced after about 8.30 am. Cold congealed eggs were not appetising.Similarly to Seville hotel there was a lack of help from reception eg no postage stamps, no info on Valencia or the Tourist cards & offers available. Mini bar & Bar drinks very reasonable and the Tapas in the bar were only 1 euro each - as cheap as any in the city and very good value. However overall impression has to be, 'How do they do it for the money?'

Review of 'SILKEN PUERTA DE VALENCIA'
12 October 2005
The hotel was ideally located between the city and the port and although public transport in the area was very good because of the brilliant weather we choose to walk to most destinations. I would not rate this hotel as 4 Stars, more like 3 Stars. Although the facilities within the room were pretty good, the daily service of the room was a bit slack and we thumbed through the phrase book almost daily to request basic items like soap and tissues! The bed linen was only changed once during the week and that was at our request! The hotel was quite busy whilst we were there with various exhibitions and conferences so perhaps that accounts for the lack of service. One of the girls at Reception was particularly helpful (should have taken her name!) but she was on her own most of the time dealing with multiple guests. The set dinner in the Restaurant was fantastic value at 16 Euro per person all inclusive. I hope this was of some help and if you need any more information, just get in touch.
