Interconnecting rooms - I don't think so!
02 August 2008
I have stayed in many Sheraton hotels all over the world on business and used my points to stay here, we have three children and after being assured that we would have interconnecting rooms when I called to check directly with the hotel three days before arrival, it all seemed a problem, because I used my points I called the UK call centre and they managed to put me in a suite and put in an extra bed. It wasn’t quite what we wanted but for a long weekend was fine
The next time I booked the hotel directly from the internet and booked two interconnecting rooms, on arrival again it was a problem, the rooms were next to each other but not interconnecting. this meant my 6, 7, and 11 year old boys in one room and my wife and I in the other, until we found we were 5 floors up.
After a lot of huffing from the manager eventually we were given two interconnecting rooms which had a great view, it seemed that my internet booking was so cheap they almost resented giving us the rooms Although we holiday in Tenerife 3 times a year and I still stay in many Sheraton hotels - this one I give a wide berth and if you need interconnecting rooms so should you.
That aside the pool was great the boys loved it on a negative side the food was average and overpriced

Excellent hotel with a great location, overlooking the ocean to the rear. Although the hotel was nearly full, there was always sunbeds/parousols available.Rooms were large clean & very comfortable
Buffet breakfast was very good with an excellent choice.
Only small whinge was, there always seemed to be a queue at reception desk and they never seemed to hurry themselves. But in saying that we have already booked to go back later this year.

Review of 'SHERATON LA CALETA RESORT & SPA'

This is a fantastic new hotel if you're looking for a relaxing break and feel like being pampered. The rooms are huge and well equipped and the bathrooms are really spacious too. The food at this hotel is good - especially the breakfasts which are self service buffet style but beautifully laid out with a huge range of food to choose from. The pool area is big and it's easy to get a lounger and parasol without having to cram up next to someone else. There are two main outdoor pools, the largest is salt water and the smaller is heated freshwater. The gardens are still fairly new but really well looked after and there was never any litter to be seen anywhere. The spa at the hotel is fantastic and open to residents at no extra charge - really nice place to spend the early evening just floating around in the thalasotherapy pool. The staff at the hotel are both discreet and helpful while still being friendly. Still a few teething problems - only one tea cup in our room and sometimes no bath mat but all really small stuff that was solved with a single call to guest services. Would go back tomorrow.
