Just returned from our third year at the Santa Maria Apartments, and the holidays just get better, as do the rooms we have been given. This time we stayed in a two bed apartment on a corner plot on the third floor, and it could not have been more perfect. We had four double patio doors leading onto our balcony each with a fantastic view of different parts of the resort including excellent sea views. I have to say this made our holiday perfect. The apartment itself was well equipped with spacious living area. Perfect position for all entertainment, beach, restaurants, will be returning again very soon. Only down side to the resort are the ticket touts who drive you crazy and can be very abusive at times. Overall from our experience its a must.

The staff at the santa maria where always frenindly and helpful, the rooms where cleaned on a daily basis with clean towels left on request. The pool area was well maintened with a regualar life guard on duty (nice to know with young children), although the main pool was very cold it was nice to have the option of a (slighty) heated pool to enjoy. Although we never took advantage of it the kids club looked clean and well run with plenty of activities for the little ones to enjoy, the only compataint would be that the eveing entertainment did not start till 9.30 which was far to late for my very tired son! I would reccomend this accomodation to anyone with young children, the beach is a 5 mintue walk (downhill) the shops, bars and resturants all within easy walking distance.

The Santa Maria is very well positioned for the Porto Colon area which we have been to before and have enjoyed.
The studio was very clean on arrival, and had been partially refurbished.We looked onto the front entrance with a tree marring the view.The room never caught any sun, but as it was very hot and as there was no fan, then this was actually a blessing.
The staff was friendly and the pool area had plenty space around it.
We felt that although we were given changes of towels by the maids, they did nothing to clean the room once you had arrived--the floor was not cleaned in our 5 night stay.
All in all, we had a very nice holiday in this area(beware of the holiday club touts who are annoying and rude).These apartments are central and good value.

Had a really good time at this hotel, lovely view and the staff were really friendly and always around to help.
I would recommend anyone to book with alpha rooms and esp the Santa Maria.
Unfortunatly not all the rooms have air con so i would advice renting a fan for your time there.
Overall we would definitly go back in the future.

staying at the santa maria is excellant as all the staff are friendly service was also excellant.rooms are spacious and clean small kitchen area with mircowave, bathroom clean and tidy balcony over looking pool and view out to sea. hotel is approx 300 metres to a clean beach it is also near all shops and there are lots of places to eat.i would recommend this hotel to everyone who wants to have a relaxing hoilday

hi,we are 3 guys who each had a studio apartment,in october 2005. on arrival found the hotel quite as of this time of year.found the reception staff and security people very friendly and helpful.directed to our rooms within 10 mins of check in,upon found them 2 be a little small,very clean,all kitchen items ok(in need of a bit refurb) the Tv was fine with most uk channels available,bathroom clean and shower working. the only let down for myself and mates was no (air-con)hired fans instead. breakfast area good. would recommend to others but definatly need the air conditional. overall had a good stay.

what a difference a room makes

after reading mixed reviews i was a bit worried and after booking in we were more worried when the man at the desk said bread and water was being served and the guard would show us to our cell.as we were led to the basement we came to our cell,sorry room.As we entered one by one i knew why there are so many cats on the island because u couldnt swing one in this room ,looking forward to our sea view we hit a brick wall, literally,after much debate(ten seconds)my partner kathy marched up to the warden and asked to be moved to a better cell where we where given the royal suite.so moan and enjoy ur stay

Listen up everyone realy nice place to stay everyone very helpful we have no complaints at all not the sort of place were people look down their nose at you (not like some we stayed at )real people not the plastic type its very close to all you need all,beach,shops,buses and they go everywhere and cheap bars clubs ,cafe's of all kinds eat on or of the Santa Maria grounds its the place i'll use again because its in the middle of everything anyone could need and all age groups from kids to grandma its a fantastic place and plenty of on site entertainment day and night so go on give it a try.
