We stayed at the Sandman Hotel in downtown Vancouver on West Georgia Street recently during a week's stay in Vancouver for some concerts at GM Place. It's proximity to GM place was the main reason for us selecting the Sandman and if you are attending any events at GM Place or BC Place the hotel is perfectly situated and no more than a five minute walk away. We found our room in the South tower very spacious (king size bed, sofa and chairs, fridge and microwave) and clean and the hotel staff all very friendly. The bath and bathroom were on the small side but still perfectly acceptable. Being in the South tower also meant there was some distance between our room and the hotel's Shark Bar which can get pretty boisterous. The Sandman is only a very short walk to many areas of interest such as Canada Place, Gastown and the shopping on Robson Street. For breakfast, Moxie's Grill in the hotel complex was ideal but could be busy unless you were a particularly early or late riser.
