great service, the staff couldn't be better and the cleaning staff kept the room immaculate. We have stayed here on previous occasions but this was the first time we had not had a poolside room and found the room this time a bit noisy at night from the Hotel Bali over the road. We have booked again for September/October and would prefer a poolside room as per previous bookings. The food could do with a bit more variation as it tends to be very Spanish orientated but according to taste I enjoyed it but my wife found it too Spanish
The best thing about my stay was…
The staff

Good value basic central hotel
11 October 2012
Good value hotel central near beach rooms very clean reception very helpful food ok nothing special and not much choice
The downside is the bar needs a complete update and the staff are rude
The hill mentioned before is not that big but seems it after you have walked up quite a few steps from the beach and then the hill to get back to the hotel
Plenty of small bar's around to walk to at night
Overall you get what you pay for ...would stay here again if nothing else available !!!
The best thing about my stay was…
position of hotel

Just had a fantastic holiday at the San Fermin Hotel despite the four days of rain.
All the staff were friendly and obliging.
The rooms may be dated but they are cleaned daily with fresh towels.
We found the buffet style restaurant to be of mainly Spanish influence which wasn't a problem as there was always plenty of choice.
The hotel was ideally located for the beach and nearby bars and shops, although on a hill it never posed a problem.
The best thing about my stay was…
Comfortable room, good food, great location, planning to book for next year.

06 October 2012
After reading some of the previous reviews I was not expecting anything too elaborate. The hotel is basically a great place for somewhere to eat and sleep. The rooms are typical of thousands of others in the area, basic but clean. In this case they are a little dated but well kept and linens and towels changed frequently. The food was adequate and a reasonable choice if you are not too picky. Cordon bleu it is not! There is plenty to eat of what would best be described as canteen type food. The location is fine, those that complain about the hill must be really unfit or sporting beer belly's'. Agreed it would be difficult if you are disabled. My OH has recently had a knee replacement and did not find it a problem at all. Would I stay here again? Yes, it was great value for a short break.
The best thing about my stay was…
Location and value.

The hotel was basic but as the cost was pretty low, you pay for what you get. We did let them know that the mattresses were uncomfortable and it would be nice to have tea and coffee facility in your room. Breakfast was included and overall very good value.

Excellent stay !! Hill no problem !
05 September 2012
I very nearly did not book this hotel based on the reviews about Cardiac Hill !!!! My Husband is 67 and I am 64 and SO pleased I decided to give this hotel a go.
Hotel rooms not too large, but hey they really dont need to be ! service very good indeed, very helpful staff throughout. We booked full board, and were extremely happy with the standard of food. All the food was hot, and although you are never going to "like" some of the choices, I have to be honest - as the choice was so good, this was never a problem, loads to eat, and a good standard. Felt that it was very good value for money, and will definately go back !!
With reference to the steep hill known as Cardiac Hill - we both thought these were very over the top comments. This must put people off the hotel which is a shame. We would say dont be put off because of these comments - yes the hotel is on a hill - but it REALLY is not that bad at all. We certainly had absolutely no problems at our ages AND I had a bad knee at the time. Can only imagine those who complained about the hill do not get any exercise at all - in which case this slight hill would have done them a lot of good on holiday :)
The best thing about my stay was…
Excellent value for money !!!!

A great find. Would definitely recommend and will be returning
04 August 2012
This hotel is only a short distance from the beach and the main road where buses can be taken to Malaga or Fuengirola. The gardens by the pool are lovely and you can secure your sun lounger for the day for just 2 euros. It is well looked after and there is a life guard on duty to monitor the provision and removal of sub loungers. There are lovely palm trees in the garden and naturally made sun parasols to sit under if the sun becomes too strong. There are always plenty of shaded areas if required. The rooms were cleaned every day and fresh towels and bedding were replaced daily too. The buffet style breakfast is excellent and although we didn't go half board, I wish that we had, as the evening buffet was just as good and the menu varied every night. It cost 12 euros per adult and half price for a child and you could take as much of whatever you wanted. It was excellent with our two daughters aged 14 and 10, as there was always something that they liked. There was plenty of entertainment laid on throughout the day and the evening for both children and adults alike. Lots of spanish people holidaying here, so they must know a good thing on their own turf! Will definitely be returning next year. Brilliant bus service too.
The best thing about my stay was…
The Biopark in Fuengirola. An unexpected find!

The San Fermin is an excellent choice for everything central in Benalmadena. The rooms were cleaned every day and fresh towels. The food was very good, always plenty to choose from. As long as you can manage the hill then I would recommend this hotel.
The best thing about my stay was…
Central location

Stayed here about 15 year ago and found it much the same. Basic hotel but quiet, spotlessly clean and all the staff are very friendly and helpful. The food is ok for a 3 star hotel and the entertainment was the same. Nice pool area but you have to pay for the sunbeds. Plenty of cheap bars and eating places close by although the hill back up to the hotel might prove a problem for old people or younger fatties, it's known locally as Cardiac Arrest Hill and although not long, it is quite steep. All in all, a nice peaceful week but Benidorm is more to my liking.
The best thing about my stay was…
Peace and quiet, nice hotel staff.

Another great holiday at the San Fermin
21 November 2011
This is our fourth time to stay at this hotel. As travelling with our handicapped daughter we need to make sure things are right and in the San Fermin we have found it all. Clean rooms, good food, friendly staff both behind reception and in the bar area and resturant nothing is too much trouble.
The best thing about my stay was…
