Brilliant holiday!

18 March 2010
I went to this hotel with my family last summer time, the service was amazing and rooms were always clean. The netertainers where always making the guests smile and were very welcoming. The beach is a few minutes away which made the holiday even better, the air condtioned rooms were so nice to go back to after the hot day, i would definatley recomend this hotel to anyone who wants to get away and relax, but also to have a funa nd enjoyable time, i am going back next year!

We stayed at the Samoa 22.9 - 6.10.09 After reading the various reviews was a bit dubious of our choice. On arrival the reception staff were polite and friendly and although we would have prefered a higher room we were on the 2nd floor overlooking the front of the hotel we were pleasantly surprised at the standard of the hotel. Very clean, rooms cleaned daily and towels changed daily if required. The facilities were great plenty of areas to sit and relax so more than made up for front bedrooms so stayed put during out stay. The entertainment staff were very hard working and always polite and smiling as were the reception staff even during the most horrendous thunderstorm i had encounted in years. The storm caused tremendous water problems ie. flooding of bars and rooms but all the time staff remained calm and friendly regardless of the backlash it caused (well done to all) i wouldnt have put up with some of the abuse!!! All in all a great holiday - ok the food was a bit repetitive but we didnt pay the earth and definately didnt starve!! I would certainly return maybe not great as a resort for the oh so young and trendy but for a relaxing chilled out holiday spot on

Go 4 it

07 October 2009
Me and my partner stayed at the Samoa for two weeks sept-oct 09. This hotel is great if you just want to relax and chill without it being to hectic. It is clean and tidy in most areas of the hotel, rooms are cleaned daily and towels are changed regular. If you are not expecting more than a 3 star hotel then go here. Food is very repetative but i'm fussy anyway. If you want more than a few resturants or clubs to go to at night then I wouldnt recommend to go here. Staff are pleasant enough and entertainers try their best. Don't listen to bad reviews as it's really not bad at all. We certainly would go back for the price.

Best Holiday Ever!!

24 September 2009
Me & my friend stayed in the Samoa for 3 nights for a long weekend away. On arrival at the hotel we wasn't sure as the receptionist didnt smile & was a bit short with us. We went up to our room and noticed our ceiling was leaking this was quite scary as we were the floor underneath the swimming pool. The food could have had a little more choice each day. The bar staff & animation staff were brilliant, allways smiling and they work so hard. We became quite friendly with 2 bar men at the hotel who then took us to the Tiffanys Bar round the corner, i really reccomend this bar it is such a good night out! Evan though the hotel had its down points i would defionately be returning!! :)

Good but needs improvement

28 July 2009
This hotel was very clean and tidy the bar staff and restaurant staff very nice and polite - good atmosphere. The food was good but pork was the main part of the menu each night. The pool is a bit small for the large crowd the hotel caters for. Top marks for the staff they really work their butts off morning noon and night. Reception staff not very hospitable. The entertainment needs major improvement for older children and adults (found ourselves sitting through amatuer night at high school each night except for one night outside entertainers were very good). The hotel toilets need major improvement too e.g locks doors and proper working toilets. In general an enjoyable week.

disapointed

29 June 2009
Just returned from Samoa, booked as a retirement present for my husband. We arrived to be told there was no room for us and had been booked in another sister hotel, this was awful like a butlins! Complained and was found a room 2 days later, rooms need updating and decorating food on the whole good ,entertainment for adults very little and what there was ,was very poor, the hotel was very noisy especially at night to 3 am so if like us you are looking for a restfull enjoyable holiday for a treat ,this is not for you !!!

The hotel lay out is very good. Rooms are basic but kept very clean and tidy. Bar staff and maids are friendly and pleasant but the reception staff not helpful at all. Food was ok but a bit repetative. Entertainment for the kids was good but was poor for the younger and older adults.

I thought the hotel was very nice, there were very nice staff there, the dissapointing thing about the holiday was the food to be honest, a couple of my friends brung up some food from there, but overall it was a very good holiday, i would go there again.

Fun but could do better

26 June 2008
Me and 13 other people went as a group to this hotel and the accomodation was good big enough for 2-3 poeple, The food was a bit bad at times but good enough for what you pay, a beach was literally down the road and there is also a mini club to keep the kids entertained, entertainment was on every night good for kids and adults, theres also a pool close to a bar and a small kitchen to eat at, if your lucky enough to get the date on your birthday then tell one of the entertianers and they will whisk up on stage and give a certificate, but in one sentence it was worth it completely OH the entertainers were good at there job too. HI entertainers!

Not too bad....

08 June 2008
Me and my boyfriend went for 11 nights at the end of May this year, we got booked a taxi transfer which was nice but the driver didnt speak english which made it hard, from the outside the hotel looked really nice and their seemed to be alot around the hotel, their was a market with lots of shops and great places to eat and drink. The rooms was just big enough for the 2 of us, it rained for the first couple of days and their wasnt much too do in the hotel, we ate at the hotel afew times but my partner got abit bored of eating pork chops, so we find a great chinese place about 5 mins away, which was great, the guy their couldnt do enough for you and their flower wine was awesome and their food was awesome too. We found a cocktail bar called Central Metting place which had 2 lovely people who run it, they couldnt do enough for you and the cocktails were great. Their is a great beach 5 mins away, that saved our holiday, they also do boat rides from that beach which was 18 euros for 2 hours. We got woken afew times, slamming doors and if you werent up early enough you wouldnt get a sun lounger but all in all it wasnt a bad place, i would go back but i'd go self catering.

Could be better

06 June 2008
Just spent a week at the Samoa. A week was enough for me. The kids aged 2 and 5 loved it. The entertainment and kids club were great for the kids. The entertainment for adults could be described as average. The food was a bit disappointing, but for the price you can't really complain. The staff were polite and helpful. It is not a resort I would go back to but overall the holiday was o.k

So So.

22 January 2008
I stayed with my brother and parents in July 2006 and it was not a bad holiday. The staff were extremely nice and friendly, and couldn't do enough to help you. The room and hotel in general was spotless. However, finding sunbeds was a nightmare, unless you are willing to get up at 6am to secure beds and the pool area got extremely crowded. The location of the hotel was brilliant, as it was a very short walk from the beach, and just accross the road from a lovely market with plenty of shops and bars and also some fab english bars too. Great for both the younger and older generation. However, the only main problem I found was that the food was not great and was pretty basic and bland. It was a good enough holiday, however I do not intend to go back!

quicksilver

25 October 2007
Just returned from a rather mixed hol at the Samoa. The hotel was spotlessly clean, staff were excellent, especially the entertainments team who worked their socks off! Special thanks here to cazz who looked after my sometimes difficult 7 year old Grandson with the patience of a saint! My 12 year old grandaughter also had a whale of a time with the maxi club activities. In spite of some previous reviews we had no trouble in finding sunbeds, although you had to be up fairly early to get the soft ones and the best places, but that's no different to any other similar hotel we've been to. The weather during our stay was often cloudy and we had some days when it was just too cold or wet to be lazing outside, and on these days the entertyainments team always managed to arrange some indoor fun and games for anyone who wished to join in. They weren't all fitness types pf games either so if you were unfit and sedentary like me there were still some things you could join in with. The only real let down was the food. The first week was fine, but the later part of our stay seemed to produce a very repetetive and sometimes not very palatable choice., Some cold meat to go with the salad would have helped! I got the impression that, as it was very close to the end of the season, the kitchen staff were making do with whatever was left in the freezers, rather than bringing in anything fresh, a management decision no doubt, with the aim of keeping down the costs. This was our 3rd visit to Calas De Mallorca, which is a lovely little town with plenty of shops and bars, where you can browse to your hearts content without any form of hassle. The Samoa was the best of the 3 hotels we have stayed at, and we would certainly consider a return visit, but a little earlier in the season, when, hopefully the food will be a lot better!

Hotel Samoa Is Awesome

16 September 2007
A few people have complained about things on here, but during my stay i found the room tidy, the beer drinkable and the food edible, that is all that mattered to me. I got what I paid for and more, the entertainment was good and brought all the visitors together to make a fun atmosphere for everyone. The hotel is situated perfectly for everyone. There are nightclubs, big screen bars, plenty of shops, a burger king (24/7) all within 500metres of the hotel. D

Just back from staying at Hotel Samoa! have to say it was a really nice hotel and very friendly staff! However the only thing I have to say is the hotel needs more food variety in the evenings, it was a bit repetitive, other than that brilliant holiday!

Enjoyable stay

28 August 2007
Just returned from the samoa. Hotel basic but clean. All staff were polite and friendly. Pools were clean. Plenty of chairs and sunbeds. Food was ok but not a lot of variety. Snack bar was great for the kids as they could get their hands on food all day. The only disappointment was that there was not a lot around aaprt from other hotels. I do like to expolre the local area but with out transport we were too far away. Do not rely on the bus service, it is very hit and miss. Overall we had a good week, apart from the bad weather.

Just returned for Hotel Samoa in callas de mallorca. Hotel was clean and all staff were really friendly. Food was ok but not a lot variety. Snack bar was great for the kids as the could get their hands on snacks all day!!!! They also ate their body weight in ice cream and slushes. Yhe only dissadvantage was that there wasn't anything around the area apart from other hotels. I do like to explore the area and there was nothing there. Pools clean and pleanty of sunbeds and chairs.

Hotel Samoa

25 August 2007
Just rturned from the Hotel Samoa for the 4th time ! This hotel is improving every year, and if you want entertainment for your children, this hotel is a must. Rooms etc are basic and clean, everything you would want from a 3* Hotel. The food is okay, nothing more nothing less, plenty of it though. Pool area is safe and child friendly. Hotel entertainers are excellent, they all work so hard to make sure you are enjoying yourselves. Bar staff are very friendly, and for an all-inclusive, the queues at the bar are small, the drink measures are huge!! After 4 visits I have recommended this hotel to many friends. The ones that have been have also returned again. What does that tell you ?

Fantastic-ooooooo

24 August 2007
Hi - we just got back from here and thought it was great. The hotel was clean & lovely 7 the staff very friendly. My kids had unlimited supplies of ice-cream & ice-pops and had great fun in the pools & park while i was able to get some peace! The inhouse entertainment was fantastic & very professional - better than the outside performers that came there. The reps were very professional & worked hard from early morning to late at night - they must be mad! Angelo & Tim were by far the best. Ok, so the food wasn't brilliant but fo a week it was bearable, but just wish they did more "spanish night" foods they were lovely. The beaches nearby are nice & the sea is very clean. All in all a great holiday, and was sad to leave. Would have stayed another week!

Good Hotel with minor faults

23 August 2007
Arrived at Samoa and was inpressed with look of Hotel, Clen and lovely reception. Room was Very warm but clean. (Handy man needed) Drawers falling apart and sink in bathroom leaking and flooded the floor. The pool area was nice and the children loved it, Breakfast was edible as was food at the snackbar but evening meals were abismal.

GREAT

23 August 2007
We have just returned from the hotel samoa and we would go back tomorrow if we could. It was really hot and the room had no air con BUT we hired a fan for the week and the problem was solved. The hotel room was cleaned every morning with fresh towels. There was a good range of food and the staff were very friendly. There was penty for the children to do with the tennis, crazy golf the park, game rooms and not forgetting the two clean pools. The entertainment teams were on the go right though the day with both adults and children and the shows at night were brilliant, well done to them all (Cazz,Tim,Louise, laura and Angelo)my children 5 & 7 really enjoyed the mini disco and learned alot of new songs and dances.IF ANYONE KNOW'S THE NAME OF THE CD THAT WAS PLAYED WITH ALL THE SONGS ON COULD YOU PLEASE LET ME KNOW, I AND MY CHILDREN WOULD BE VERY GREATFUL. THANK YOU.. This was a holiday to remember.

26 July 2007
From when we arrived until the day we went this hotel was the best holiday we have ever had. The room was very basic but clean and cleaned daily. The food was fantastic with a different choice and a good selection for all ages. The staff were very helpful and couldnt do enough for you. As for the entertainment all through the day it was excellent, the holiday reps were on the go all day and very friendly with to, and we must mention the night time entertainment it was out of this world, the reps put on many different shows and events. Me and my partner could not fault this hotel and its facilities. We are already planning a return to this hotel next year...... WELL DONE SAMOA!

22 July 2007
I loved every second of this holiday as did my wife and kids. We still dance to the CD of the music played all the time. Food is great, entertainment great, local booze great what more do you need. The decor in the rooms is 3 star but you get great value for money as a package. The entertainers are really fun and even though I was injured so couldnt join in the entertainment was quality to watch. A great family holiday that I would love to re-live. A great holiday =]

22 July 2007
When i arrived home i stumbled across the reviews for the hotel samoa on the internet so figured i would leave a comment... The staff in the hotel were friendly and easy-going...especially the bar staff...;-) I was on the fourth floor and the rooms were cleaned daily and any problems with the rooms were fixed within an hour of being reported. The food was basic but there was still a varied choice. The karoke bar across the road was great, especially as the entertainment in the hotel was aimed more at younger children. The life guard was helpful and chatted to the guests around the pool. The sun care advisor woman was helpless and didnt really know what she was talking about. The beach was nice and the water was very clear. Definitely worth the steps! Took a day out to the caves of drak...its much cheaper to make your own way there, especially as the bustop is right outside the hotel. A great holiday for those who aren't over-critical =]

Hotel Samoa

16 July 2007
I had read a lot of bad and good reviews before I went on holiday in Hotel Samoa. I understand that many people have different standards, but at the end of the day this is only a 3 star hotel. And as far as I'm concerned it was very clean, Staff were polite and helpful. The beach is a two minute walk (and is the most amazing beach I have ever been to!) There were differen activities going all day long for people of all ages! There's plenty to do there. And the entertainment team were great, they were friendly, chatty, funny, and simply made the holiday great. I didn't really like the food there but I am a very fussy eater, even in my own home! but there was a snack bar with burgers, chips, and Pizza! Drinks were refreshing. The Room was cleaned daily. And yes, I admit, getting a sunbed was hard if you woke up late. But twice we simply told the staff and they were happy to help, and they gave us sunbeds! I thoroughly enjoyed my stay in Hotel Samoa, and would defiinitely go back there. I just wanted to let you all know, it is definitely a family friendly hotel!

Fantastic Holiday

10 July 2007
We have just returned from hotel samoa and i had to write to let other people know what a fantastic holiday we had. We have children aged 7 and 9 and they loved every minute. The entertainment is non-stop for adults and children alike. The entertainment team worked so hard and made the holiday for us. Full marks go out to Cazz, Tim, Angelo, Laura and Louise. The kids club was fantastic, lots going on. The hotel was clean and the food was brilliant. we are fussy eaters, but there was always something which we could eat. Anyone that gives this hotel a bad review must be mad. I would recommend Hotel Samoa to anyone and will definitely be returning later this year.. WELL DONE TO ALL STAFF AT HOTEL SAMOA FOR MAKING THIS THE BEST HOLIDAY EVER

samoa sucks

07 July 2007
just arrived back from a week in hotel samoa, 1st week in july so weather was excellent which was the saving grace for this holiday, definitely will not be going back to the samoa, it doesn't live up to its reviews.. expected it to be basic but there's basic and there's basic! the food choice was ok if you like pasta and salad.. or hot dogs! the hotel had a great entertainment team that kept the kids amused most of the day and night which was great but pretty poor entertainment for the grown ups and you have to listen to everything all day in about 8 languages... not enough sunbeds for the amount of guests it holds, rooms were really scabby, maid in every day to make beds but never swept floor once, tv was broken, toilet worked occasionally, no air-con, no hairdryer, no fridge, one socket only per room, place was crawling with ants and other intersting looking insects! rooms was smelly - balcony had nothing to hang towels on, sprinkler system meant everything in room got wet if you opened patio doors.. dining room and snack bar were not kept clean enough - had to sit on napkins most days to keep clothes clean from dropped food and spilt sauce etc i certainly won't be coming back to this hotel..

Brilliant

18 June 2007
just returned on 14th june and we had a fantastic time. we were a mother and daughter going for a nice holiday to relax after my exams. It was brilliant, Lively if you want it but quiet if you want it too. There is always plenty to do and the resort is small but lots to explore with plenty of trips to do. The rooms basic yes but the view was good and it was very clean. We had the bbc channels in our room. The food was of good variety and some things were for different tastes but you would never come out hungry. if you try something and dont like it you try something else. There was always lovely soup, salad and deserts for fussy eaters. i liked trying new things. The drinks were locally produced but very nice. The staff in the restaurant and bars were brilliant. Always very helpful and liked to make you laugh. We were also persuaded to try the local nightclub with the bar staff and had a wail of a time (even mum). Definitley going back June 08 and taking friends with us. (will be back b4 then if we can).

When i read the reports i was realy thinking of not booking this hotel as so many people seemed to complain about all sorts of things, but the price was very good and i have had many holidays of this type so i took my chances and booked for one week. All the things that i read on the site were just unfounded moans as the hotel was fine, food okay plenty of choice, area very good, room basic but clean with tv four english chanels great out look and all in all a realy good deal for the money. I cannot understand the complaints at all as i am also fussy but this hotel was not the hell hole it was made out on the reviews it must be some people just like to complain. The only complaint i had was no air con in room but fans were for hire at reception, i think they should be free in rooms.

Brilliant

28 May 2007
We visited hotel samoa in calas de mallorca for one week in may 207. This was a late book and great value for money. The hotel itself is generally clean and welcoming. Rooms are fair, and upgraded ones are good with television and air-con. Entertainment team are brilliant with a fun activity program that runs throughout the day, this includes aerobics, fun dances, silly games, water sports and other sports. Each night there is a childrens disco and then adult entertainment which varies from outside performers to the hotel entertainers. There is not alot for teenagers at the hotel but it caters well for younger children with a childrens club. This hotel is not ideal for people with fussy eating habbits. This is because the hotel caters for many different cultures. (Spanish,English,Dutch,French and German) Fighting for sunbeds in the high season could be a problem but we were there within the first two weeks of opening. The pool is of a great size and is really nice to have a quick dip in to cool down after being in the hot sun. There are three main squares of shops bars and resturants oppisite the hotel and a short 5minute stroll guides you to the beach, this includes a lot of steps going the pool way, or going to the front way which cuts out alot of steps. Overall this holiday is good for a break away. I'd recommend it for old and new bearing in mind im only fourteen years of age but my family and i along with another two couples all had a brilliant time.

The Pool Was Brilliant And There Was Lots Of Other Kids. Me And My Friend Laura Liked The Water Polo And Fundances Lol Big Waynes Tht We Ur We Even Gt A Cd With The Songs On It. The Entertainment Was Great Joel And Kevin Were The Best! The Beach Was Nice Its A Bit Small But Thats Quite Good And Its Nice At Night. All The Staff Were Friendly And The Barmen Were Very Funny And Most Were Nice Looking. The Food Was Ok I Didnt Eat Much But It Was Still Good Theres Lotsa Wee Restaurants U Can Go To Across The Road Which Are Nice. I Would Definitely Go Back To This Hotel And Hopefully Soon. I'd Advise This Hotel To Anyone Who Wants A Good Holiday! xXxXx

how it is?

19 April 2007
the hotel was very clean apart from a little bit of muck on the floor in the corner. the pool was always clean and washed every night. on your way you will think it is in the middle of no where but then when you get there it brings up a lot of little shops with cafes, bars, internet cafes and loads of shops to get what you want. the beach when you go down is only a stroll along the banks and then you will see the golden sand and great waters with a lot of little fish underneath your air bed. the food wasn't great but there was always something to eat for young and old people. if you have missed your lunch there is a snack bar near the bar where you can get some food. at the bar you can get any drink you want and you can get ice creams and ice poles. if you have children you can send them to the kids club and there are activities for the older people just like football and tennis and water sports.

Review of 'Samoa'

13 April 2007
Have stayed at this hotel twice, in 2001 and 2003 and was very impressed both times. Not the most luxurious or the best food but if it was it would be a 5* hotel not a 3*. Food was good and the hotel was very clean for a 3* hotel in the med. i have been to Menorca, Ibiza 4 times, Majorca twice, Corfu, Crete and Portugal, France, Italy, Belgium and Switzerland and USA (Florida) and the samoa was the best accommodation I have stayed in after the place i stayed in in Florida (Which was 5* and brand new when i went there last yr).

The hotel its self is a lovely place to stay and has some good entertainment on site, i warn you it can get repetitive! it is clean and the staff are very helpful! we stayed for 2weeks all inclusive, i would not recommend this. the food is quite greasy after a few meals and there is only a very small resort locally. to travel any where it takes up to a hour and a half which is very time consuming. But on the whole, a nice place to stay for a short break.

Fantastic holiday, friendly entertainments staff 5* goes out to joel, kevin, louise and becky. They keep you busy through out the holiday. Clean rooms. Unfortunatly food is really bad for an all inclusive holiday. Great for children.

We stayed at Hotel Somoa last year and it was our worst holiday ever. The rooms were dingy, smelly and worst of all had bugs crawling in the bathrooms. The food was horrible, looked like you were eating left overs. For the amount of money we had paid, what we got was below value.

On arrival we were really pleased and satisfied with the hotel and the rooms, it was very clean indeed and staff were very friendly and helpful. However breakfast was good but the rest of the meals were not good at all, being all inclusive it was very disappointing.

Yet again we had a thoroughly enjoyable holiday at the hotel Samoa !!
The entertainment staff were first class and had us entertained day and night. We also met some fantastic people during our Holiday.
Food was as you would expect at an all inclusive hotel, a
No complaints about the hotel, except the pool bar should have been open on the second week 16th October as it was busier than our first week!!.
Some people when they travel abroad should try to control themselves as they seem to turn into animals when they travel.
But that's not the hotel's fault.
again thank you to the hotel Samoa for another great holiday.
