An Excellent Break
17 August 2008
We have just returned from The RT Rezydent Hotel. We had read some reviews before booking this hotel, and did take the advice suggested and requested a room at the back of the hotel. How we were pleasantly surprised, we had a spacious apartment, at the back, and we experienced no noise whatsoever. Bedroom with a comfortable bed, ample space for clothes (good supply of hangers) and two bedside units. In the lounge we had a sofa and two armchairs, a large drawered unit, TV, coffee table and a large clean refridgerator. Bathroom was really nice and spacious. Only concern here was there was no shower curtain. Towels were changed each day and apartment cleaned. Reception staff were helpful. Best of all was its position as it was just off the main square, everything was walkable. Breakfast was really good, an excellent selection of all types of food, including fruit, and a wonderful selection of juices. We would recommend this hotel to anyone.

A long weekend in Krakow
16 July 2008
Excellent, central location. Friendly staff. Very clean room and bathroom. Very satisfactory breakfast. Quiet (we had an apartment at the back). TV reception - hopeless. The hotel has a 'tired' feel to it. Overall, a hotel that we would recommend and would return to ourselves.

Our Hotel stay
14 June 2008
Up 60 steps in 31 degrees heat to a large room, thank godness the young fellow carried my case. There was no air conditioing or even a fan, the noise from the square was awful especially when Poland played their game in the cup the shouting went on till 4am. Our bed was six inches deep and on the floor. The alarm system at the exchange over the road went off every 10 mins the first 2 nights we were there so no sleep. The room was basic and fairly clean needed a coat of paint, the staff were very nice and helpful could not do enough for you. We will not stay there again, would not recommend it either.

Rooms were large and clean. Reception staff were friendly and helpful. Make sure that you get rooms at the back of the hotel because it's really noisy at the front. Great location and acceptable breakfast. Try the restaurant at the back of the hotel, Chlopskie. It's great.

staying in Krakow
28 April 2008
great location; ask for a quiet room - you might be v lucky and get an apartment at the back ,as we did - very spacious. The decor looks a little tired, but location more than makes up for this. Breakfasts taken next door in the restaurant and were typical - adequate choice, with fresh fruit, cereals, breads etc. Limited choice of hot food. Staff very helpful at reception.

Great short break to Krakow
11 April 2008
Excellent location just 30 metres from main square.Room good size ,clean and warm.Ours was at the rear of the hotel and quiet.Hotel could do with a lick of paint and staircase a bit shabby but all in all good value.Breakfast in an adjacent building was excellent but we did not try other meals due to abundance of good restaurants close by.Hotel staff were helpful and obliging. We were disappointed with the castle and Jewish quarter but Auschwitz and salt mines were excellent. On the basis of location and value we would use this hotel again and recommend to friends.

Well worth a stay
04 April 2008
Had a short (20 paces) walk from the taxi drop off point to the hotel which we found to be warm and comfortable. Rooms were well soundproofed against the noise outside and although we could hear the hour chimes from the catherderal clock in the main square, we weren't disturbed by the trumpeter All the staff were very friendly from the lady cleaners to the reception staff and we were made to feel at home. Location was fantastic. slap bang in the middle of town. We were able to drop in frequently during the day to drop off shopping etc. Breakfast was good even though we had a short walk along the strret to the restaurant. The hotel ordered a taxi for us back to the airport and actually gave us the price (70 zlt)which saved any unpleasant surprises. Will certainly use use this hotel again.

Hotel RT Rezydent. Recommended.
17 March 2008
Stayed at the hotel in March 08. Fantastic! Staff were very helpful and polite. We were given an apartment when we arrived and I have to say it was out of this world. We have stayed at so many places before but this was something special. The only problem was that it was up quite a few flights of stairs and as we are elderly we asked to be moved to the main hotel. This was done the next morning and the staff transfered everything for us, even down to the toothbrushes. The location is great, right next to the main square and a short walk to the train station. Krakow itself is an excellent place to visit with lots of things to see and do. Salt Mines trip involves a lot of steps and walking so take that into account but is well worth the effort. Would recommend Krakow and the hotel to everyone.

Kracking Krakow
03 March 2008
Hotel is very central for everything being a few yards from the main square, well within staggering distance of bars and restaurants. Room was more than adequate for a 4-night stay. In fact it was the best corridor I've ever slept in(very long and narrow). Bathroom was lovely with heated towel rail, bath, shower and freebies. Reception staff always pleasant and nothing too much trouble. The safe deposit was a sealed plastic bag which provided us with lots of laughts but served the purpose. Would recommend as very good value for money with excellent location.

Large clean room, which we checked into as soon as we arrived though it was about 11.30. Close to a huge variety of lovely restaurants and best of all, less than 30 seconds to the beautiful main square where the Christmas markets and street choirs were fab. I would definitely stay here again and would recommend it to anyone visiting Krakow.

Our stay in Krakov
06 December 2007
We reached the hotel after a 10 minute walk from the railway station. Our room was located away from the main hotel building in the town square. The fantastic views more than compensated for the fact that we had to walk just a short distance outside to have breakfast. Staff very professional, attentive and courteous. We never did get to try the evening meals in the hotel- simply too many excellent alternatives around the town. Great stay and a terrific place for a long weekend. If booking tours, visit the Tourist Information Office in the main square where prices are better and service also excellent.

Great hotel in a fantastic location!
03 December 2007
Just got back from 3 nights in Krakow and can only agree with all the positive posts made by guests who have stayed at this hotel.
We arrived at the hotel and were told that we were stopping 'over the road' from the hotel. Alarm bells rang as we walked through an arcade at the side of the Polish pub, in hot pursuit of the porter with our luggage. We opened the door to our apartment with some concern. Need we have worried?? Not on your nelly, we were welcomed by a decent size hallway which opened on to a huge apartment, consisting of a double bed, two three seater sofa's and a single seater. Futhermore, there was a second room which included another double bed, a single bed and a wardrobe. The size of this 'room' was staggering. Location wise, the main square was a matter of yards away. Breakfast was served over the road in the restaurant. On the whole, buffet style breakfast was fine, cereals, fruit, cold meats and pastries. Scrambled egg and sausage was part of a 'like warm' buffet. Tea, coffee and jucies were plentiful. Main square is great and the Christmas market was up and running. Trips to Auschwitz (14 zloty return by minibus from the bus station is a bargain) and Salt Mines are a must. More local sightseeing of the Cadtle and the Jewish quarter are worth doing.
Return taxi to the airport was booked by the friendly hotel staff.
Some previous posts have said that there is no tea / coffee making facilities. We took our own kettle and bits and pieces so thanks to all for pointing this out.
Overall, we would have no reservations is recommending this hotel to anyone. Excellent value for money in a great apartment style room in a fantastic location in a fabulous town.
Thinking of going to Krakow and looking for somewhere to stay?? Well, what are you waiting for...book the Rt Rezydent now!

RT REZYDENT is spot on.
09 November 2007
This was a super value for money hotel and we echo the many good reviews already written. Very large clean rooms (though exclusive might be pushing it a bit by W European standards eg. no tea/coffee facilities) and the bathroom was better than ours at home! Excellent breakfast selection (though room was a bit crowded one day when high occupancy night before). The 2 restaurants on site were very good. Entrance to hotel is split in 2 but that was no inconvenience. Location was just unbeatable, so close to main square (which also made it very easy to find on first arrival, and well walkable from rail station provided you're not overluggaged). We were at front of hotel and did have some noise from pub opposite one Saturday night, so might be worth considering rear rooms if you're a light sleeper. Rooms ready on arrival and staff look after luggage when you check out - also porter very helpful - and one word of warning, for most rooms you do need the porter as rooms are up several quite steep flights of stairs. Overall the staff were excellent. Any quibbles are just to give a full picture - overall it was superb!

Hooray Hotel Rezydent
29 October 2007
I chose this hotel after reading the many good reviews and all I can say to the odd poor review is you must be very hard to please! You shouldn't expect too much for less than £30 pp B&B in a city centre hotel, but the RT Rezydent far exceeded our expectations. Large clean room, which they allowed us to book into as soon as we arrived, no waiting around, and staff took our luggage to the room. Breakfast is plentiful and I would recommend evening meal there too, good food at very reasonable prices. At the back of the hotel is another restaurant well worth a look, also for those visiting in the summer months, a large beer garden. Best of all, about 20 paces takes you into the beautiful main square. I will definitely stay here again and strongly recommend it to anyone visiting Krakow.

Hotel Rezydent
28 October 2007
We were looking for somewhere to go at half term with our teenage son. We decided to give Krakow a try as we thought there would be enough to see to interest our son. We chose the Rezydent hotel because of its location close to the Old town square which was excellent. The hotel room was spacious and the bathroom clean. The breakfast offered a variety of food which catered for all. The hotel staff were friendly and organised our trips to the Salt Mines and Austwitz. These trips were both excellent, the guides were very informative. We also walked to the Jewish Quarter, The Jewish Ghetto and to Schindlers Factory. There are an abundance of churches and a cathedral to visit. Our son did not complain of boredom throughout the trip which was amazing !
The night life was good with a number of Jazz bars. It was also incredibly cheap to eat out.
I would definately return to Krakow in the future and would stay at the Rezydent Hotel

Hotel Rezydent
17 October 2007
We have just returned from a three day stay at the Rezydent Hotel. What a lovely hotel. We found it spotlessly clean just off the main Cloth Hall Square. You couldn't get a better location. Everything within easy reach. The staff in the hotel were most polite and very helpful. We booked our trip to Auschwitz with them 120 zlty, we thought that was very reasonable. The breakfast was great, a good selection of cold meats ,cheese, toast, cereal and yoghurts. We read in one of the reviews of the hotel that some people were charged a tax on leaving the hotel. We were not asked to pay anything at all. So we would say query this if you are asked to pay. All in all a most enjoyable holiday. Would we use the Rezydent again. Certainly.

Great Location
25 September 2007
Just returned to work after a great four day and three night stay with a couple of friends. The three of us go away for a long weekend every year at the same sort of time. We've never been disappointed and this year was no exception. We were a little worried when we arrived as the girl on reception told us that our "room for three" wasn't available. However, we were allocated a three bed apartment in the hotel instaed. We were amazed at the size of each of the three bedrooms. They were huge. There was also a fully kitted ktichen and recently modernised bathroom.
The hotel is ideally located just 10 metres from the main square of the Old Town. There can't be many better located hotels in Krakow. Ok, so the rooms themselves could be furnished better, but don't forget, this is a 3* hotel. It's not pretending to be anything else. Breakfast was found in an adjacent building to the hotel. Cereals, pastries, various breads, meets, cheeses, fresh fruit, yoghurts etc. plus fresh juice and coffee. There's so much going on in the Old Town, you really wouldn't want to be based anywhere else in the city.

Value for money + in the heart of the city!
23 August 2007
My wife + I spent 4 nights in Krakow + found this hotel to be the perfect base. It is comfortable and extremely clean + all the staff were very friendly. Breakfast was very good and included a wide range of hot + cold foods as one finds on the continent. However, its best feature is that it is so close to the Old Town Square which is a most wonderful place- tell all your friends about it! We enjoyed looking out over the street late at night + if it got a bit noisy we shut the window (unlike some other reviewers who obviously expect everyone to be quiet after 9.30 pm!). Our only observations are that the bed was very low, the toilet was rather noisy for a short while after flushing + there was a big step out of the shower which could be dangerous! Overall then, it's a value for money hotel which is as you find it and it's in a great situation- we'll go back!!

The accommodation was spotless we had a very spacious room more than adequately equipped for our stay. The hotel is only a short walk from some the finest eating places in Krakow. Great location
26 June 2007
Stayed at Hotel Rezydent for 3 nights with group of 4 well travelled friends. We all agreed that this hotel was the perfect location. Kracow is a superb city with so much happening, it was great to walk out of the door and be right in the centre of things. The staff were all plesant and willing to help in any way. Rooms are clean spacious and have excellent bathrooms with showers. The buffet style breakfast was of a good standard. Staff organised a trip for us to Auschwitz and arranged for our Taxi to the airport. I would recommend this hotel very strongly to anyone, especially if you are nervous of making a booking over the internet for the first time. You will not be disapointed.

Cracking time in Krakow
07 June 2007
Returning from Krakow on the 1st of June we reflected on what a cracking time we had there. We arrived at 11pm and were greeted at the Rezydent by very freindly staff who imformed us that we had been upgraded to a one bed apartment. We were escorted to the room by a cheerfull member of staff. The apartment was clean.well furnished and positioned at the back of the hotel over the outside resteraunt which was a quiet location.Fantastic location right on the main square surrounded by shops and bars.Breakfast was taken in a restaurant two doors away which was very pleasant and good variation of cold buffet as well as hot eggs sausage and meat - it was replenished regularly. The staff helped us to book trips to The salt mines and Auschwitz which were worth going to.The castle is well worth a visit but you need to book in advance to see the state rooms as tours for english groups get booked up quickly. The hotel does not have air conditioning and during our stay it was 30 degrees but you were provided with a standard fan which we moved to the bedroom in an evening this solved the problem.Reception also booked our taxi for the return journey back to the airport which came on time and at the price quoted 70szloty. Since coming back I have recommended the hotel already to friends as well as Krakow as a relaxing inexpensive short break.Overall we were more than pleased with the hotel - can't better the location in a cracking town.

Review of 'RT REZYDENT'
12 March 2007
Beware Travellers of all ages whether business or pleasure! The direct quote from the hotel information boasts of '59 luxuriously appointed rooms and suites’ providing ‘guests with an atmosphere of sheer comfort and hospitality’. Being a seasoned traveller to Krakow, I wanted a decent hotel (providing a little amount of room, some comfort and a good night’s sleep) in the rather compact city centre which is best visited on foot; and admittedly, price came into consideration as well. At first glance the ***RT Rezydent scored well on all counts on paper. I knew the location was superb…very close (walking less than a minute) to the main square. It meant a short walk with the suitcases as taxis were not permitted down that particular road, but that was a small price to pay for an ideal central position. The hotel information appeared impressive and the price was right. A little bit of research suggested that a rear facing room was considered desirable as it could get quite loud with all the restaurants and nightlife on the street. The room was duly booked and I looked forward to celebrating a birthday in Poland’s most inspiring and charming city. On entering the dreary lobby and shared passageway to the Chlopskie Jadlo Restaurant we were booked in by an indifferent bored receptionist, who handed me the keys to the room and clearly expected us to navigate our way with our luggage to the room without assistance. After eventually finding the room, initial expectations were dashed by finding a dismal room with wooden ceilings, clearly too small for the double bed and single cupboard that had been crammed into it, making it impossible for more than one person at a time to walk around the bed or unpack into the cupboard. The ceiling may have been historic but the small 25 watt light bulbs and lack of complimentary mineral water (normally considered standard in all Polish hotels), or anything resembling a fridge, hinted more at penny-pinching by the management. A small tinny, plastic radio/alarm clock in addition to the TV complimented the austere dreary décor. A well-thumbed copy of yellow pages hinted at lots of previous residents perhaps looking desperately for other hotels, but alas, no sign of any headed writing paper on which to write a formal complaint! The modern and functional bathroom was warm and worked like a charm. It was spoiled by a loud pump-like device that reverberated repeatedly.

The RT Rezydent is ideally located for market square. The rooms are basic but comfortable enough, although the beds could have been better. Hotel very central position, good for all of the sightseeing you require. Hotel clean but very dated, they are refurbishing the upstairs rooms at the moment. Breakfast was very satisfactory and plenty of it. We had a room on top of reception to the side and was a quiet room, apart from noisey neighbours shouting at all hours. Rooms were cleaned daily and beds comfortable and warm. All staff very friendly on reception and porters. You do have to pay a separate tax on departure at reception but this was very cheap.

Great Location
24 February 2007
The best thing about The Hotel Rezydent by far is the location. The hotel is situated off the main square which is a real asset after a long day sight seeing in the centre or an evening out at a centre restaurant. The rooms are large but basic. The beds are very low and would not be suitable for anyone with back problems. However everything is clean and the service is good. The rooms do not provide kettles, hair dryers etc but are available upon request. I particularly liked the fact that the heating was on only in the day time. This may not suit everyone but it did not get hot and stuffy through the night. The walls are paper thin and sleeping next door to a heavy snoorer meant we got little sleep. We found the hotel noisy. Not as a result of outside traffic and visitors wandering about the Centre but as a result of people coming back late to the hotel and making a lot of noise without concern for those who go to bed before midnight. The breakfast is excellent. This is provided in another block so you do have to leave the building and walk a few yards. In winter months it is advisable to wrap up warm or you are in for a sharp wake up as the temperatures are much lower than in the UK. The breakfast provides a wide range of foods for all tastes. It is also possible to make up a take away bag of food for the day which is a godsend when you are hungry about midday and fancy a snack on your travels. All in all this is a reasonable hotel and certainly value for money. Many of the other hotels charged twice the price for the same service. For a short City break this is ideal at 3 star standards.

An excellent situation for the magnificent main square. Clean hotel. Our room was very large with a further lounge TV room leading to a fully tiled bathroom. Maid service was spot on. Myself and my wife had a very enjoyable stay at the REZYDENT , the room was clean , but a little old fashioned . The bathroom was very big. The staff were very friendly and helpfull. The one problem that we had , was that when we were leaving we asked the receptionist to ring us a taxi. This taxi man ripped us off. The taxi from the airport to the hotel was 15 Zloty , but the taxi from the hotel to the airport was 70 Zloty .When we disputed this with the taxi driver he said that the hotel should have told us the price. He tried to blame the hotel, make sure you get the price before you get into the taxi.

Review of 'RT REZYDENT'
07 January 2007
The hotel Rezydent was ideally situated right in the heart of the old town within minutes of numerous sites, shops and restaurants. It is only 15 mins walk from the central railway station which has an excellent service to the airport. Our room was at the back of the hotel and therefore very quiet although I suspect that rooms at the front might expect some street noise.
The room was sold to us as a twin + 1 child and was very spacious with 3 comfortable beds. It was simply furnished. There were no tea/coffeee making facilities but bottled water was supplied and was not charged for. A fridge was available. The bathroom had no bath but a very adequate shower.
Breakfast was from 7-10am and was situated in the hotel restaurant 2 doors along. It consisted of a good selection of the normal fare: cereals, hams, cheese, salad, toast, bread scrambled egg, hotdog sausages (not recommended) fruit and yoghurt, with plenty of coffee and juices.Service and prensentation were excellent.
We would definitely return to this hotel. Be warned that we were charged a "local Tax" when we checked out. This only amounted to around £4 but we thought all taxes were included in the price and did'nt expect it.

28 November 2006
We have just returned from our stay in The Rezydent hotel in Krakow and had a brilliant time. The hotel was in the main square which was the best place to stay in Krakow, I did read the reviews before we went and emailed the hotel for quiet rooms, which we were given and were very comfortable for us. The breakfast at the hotel was great with a big choice, cereal, toast, eggs, fresh juices, tea and coffee and some very strange choices such as soup and pasta! but we all enjoyed it.

Review of 'RT REZYDENT'
07 November 2006
The RT Rezydent is an excellent base for visiting Krakow being right on the edge of the Market Square and in walking distance of all the major attractions. The rooms are large clean and comfortable we requested a room at the back as having read others reviews we thought it may be noisy at the front as the hotel is on the main route from the Market Square to the Castle. Our room was huge and very quiet. The breakfast is excellent with plenty of choice (both hot and cold) and there are a number of excellent restaurants nearby. (If you find a restaurant you like the look of it is advisable to book as the popular ones fill up early and it can be difficult to get a table). The hotel staff are friendly and helpful all in all this hotel is excellent value for money and one we would use again. A taxi from the hotel to the airport costs about £10 and the staff will organise it for you.

Review of 'RT REZYDENT'
01 November 2006
Hotel RT Rezydent could not have been more central than if we had gone over there and selected it beforehand. Just off the main suare and along the road to the Castle. The room was very clean and the bathrooms had been very recently renovated. Staff were helpful and allowed us to keep our luggage in there secure room on departure and ordered a taxi for us to airport (60zlt). Breakfast is in the resturant two doors down and is very good and extensive. Krakow itself absolutely buzz's at nightime and there are hundreds of great eating places and bars. Obviously vodka (any flavour) is the most popular and inexpensive drink costing approx 7 zlt (£1.20) a large shot and also local beer extremely cheap. We went to one of the many jazz clubs off the main square and also had dinner there - for a table of 4, 3 courses and coktails all evening it cost us 300zlt. The Polish food was absolutely fab - try the grilled meats and the dumplings and goulash. Auschwitch was worth visiting, however very rushed if you go on the organised tour (80zlt. Things to buy - Amber jewellry in abundance and a lot cheaper than here and also carved wood (chess sets/carved boxes) All in all a great trip...This is now the 6th or 7th City I have been to with Alpha Rooms and I have nothad a bad one yet...I would rate Krakow alongside Prague.

If your looking to visit Krakow then you'll be hard pressed to find a better base from which to explore this beautiful city. The hotel (a listed building) is hardly a minute's walk from the old town square so is superbly located. The Chlopskie Jadlo restaurant serving fantastic Polish cuisine is in the courtyard behind the hotel and is a must visit. The staff are very friendly and helpful - all in all a great place to stay for lovers of traditional-style accomodation !

had a pleasurable stay at this hotel for 3 nights. Room was adequate and kept very clean. The only downside was that because of its location facing the front street the room was a bit on the noisy side especially on saturday night. Breakfast was excellent and service of staff again could not be faulted. In all a nice break in a central hotel

The hotel location could not have been more perfect, it is situated on a short access route to the main square in Krakow The hotel staff could not be more helpfull and their knowledge of English and the local area were used to great benefit. The hot breakfast buffet was more varied and substantial than I had eaten in other european countries and reflected aspects of local Polish produce. The only thing preventing the hotel from getting a full 5 rating was that I had a twin room in the hotel annex virtually on the top floor in what would be a converted loft space. It was early spring when i stayed and temperatures were about 21 degrees centigrade. The room heated conciderably during the day and was not ventilated sufficently to disipate the heat and humidity generated during the day.So the room was still hot at bedtime and there was no practical way (Short of leaving the room door open) to cool down. Not a huge problem in early spring but could be a problem later in the season when the heat is more sustained. I was staying with a group of 6 friends and between us we had 3 rooms, which were all spacious and clean. Another niggle which disappointed me and my friends was when we checked out was that we had to pay a 3 Zloty "Local tourist Tax" which was about £0.60 each. Not a huge amount but if there is a local tax then include it on the bill as part of the room rental. Unfortunately it smacked of a scam to get money off tourists as our payments were not documented or receipted. Despite this small moan, this is a hotel I will recommend to all my friends and family and when I visit Krakow again, which I certainly will, I will be staying there.

Clean and comfortable hotel in the heart of the old town, location could not have been better. We stayed b&b,the breakfasts were very good with a good buffet selection and as much coffee or tea as you wanted.Breakfasts seved from 7am until 10am so should suit most guests. The staff were all very friendly and and could not have beeen more helpful. We had a twin room.beds were comfortable, and the room also contained a fridge, and television. We visited during the winter and we found the hotel to be always warm and welcoming,we would definately stay there again on a future visit to the lovely city of Krakow.
