The regent is well positioned in Jewish quarter of Krakow and good value. Rooms are very clean and well furnished. Nice bathroom with power shower - super!.
Friendly staff and all spoke english well.
Breakfast basic continental but adequate. Has non-smoking and smoking rooms. Down side - no coffee making facilities, and no english TV. Several nice bars/pubs very close. Hotal only 1-2km walk to central Krakow with good tram links throughout. If travelling for cigarettes - has tabac shop 100metres away who can get any quantity within 6hrs of ordering. Beer prices £1.75 - £2.00 average. Try the polish dumplings in Stajnia pub 20metres from hotel door - full plate for £2.50 - gorgeous and very filling. Also does many well priced main courses.
Airport to Hotel can take some time (leave 2hrs for travel) but easy to do - Airport bus 292 (every 30 mins) for 3 pzl to Cracovia hotel (19 stops) - about 25mins. Then No 18 tram for 1pzl to Stradom (6 stops - 10mins). Then a short 5 minute walk.
Area seemed safe at night.
