Review of 'RT MONOPOL'

The hotel is in an ideal position for both the Central Squares of Krakow, the Jewish Quarter and also every day shops, with a supermarket about 2 doors down which is handy if you are in need of food, water or anything else. The staff were friendly, and the hotel offers a range of excursions in and around Krakow which are all fairly priced. I only opted for cereal at breakfast, but there was a range of meats, eggs etc. However, the toaster was broken and you had to manually hold the toast down. Our room (a twin) was spacious, but I do agree about the carpets, which seemed a little unclean. Another problem was the lack of plug sockets. My bedside was socket was actually behind my bed, and so I had to pull it out from the wall.. making the side fall off! All in all, the hotel was ideal for what we wanted to see and do in Krakow.

The hotel is in a good position. The staff were friendly and helpful. The bedroom was well cleaned. I do agree with other comments that the bedroom carpets are looking tired and that breakfast isn't so good if you are a late riser or expect a good cooked breakfast.

The hotel staff where helpful and friendly, there was a good variety of breakfast choices. The bathrooms where of high standard and the room was clean - the only thing was i would suggest that they get the carpets cleaned as the carpets were not great throughout the hotel and seeing as they let dogs stay at this hotel i was a bit concerned as to what the stains where on the carpets especially in the room.

We stayed here in march, this hotel is in a very good location only 10 minute walk from the train station, and a 5 minute walk from main square. Also castle and jewish quarter 10 minute walk. Hotel was very clean, staff very helpful. Room 53 was a little small but was excellent. One of the best showers i have had in any hotel, powerful, like having a jetwash! Breakfast was also good. I would recommend this hotel.

Bedroom had been upgraded by the Hotel, from Double Standard to De Luxe. Good Room, with decent space. On the Hotel first Floor Front, so some noise from Trams & General Road traffic, but being winter, we slept with windows closed, so this was not a problem.
Very helpful staff, most had good English language skills, which was just as well, as we had no Polish !

We stayed here at beginning of Nov.Weather surprisingly good & mild. Were slightly miffed to discover on our arrival at their sister hotel, the Regent, that we were reallocated to this hotel.Ho wever,it was in a good position, though we had some reservations. Our room was a double bedded room, though we requested a twin. The room was pretty tight for space and that meant one side of bed was against the wall.A pet hate of mine!!(my lovely spouse "volunteered"to sleep against the wall!) Another problem was the trams start at a VERY early hour & the clanking was LOUD! Travel agent did not tell us there was a "climate"tax so we were shocked to be brought back to hotel to pay as we were leaving! Did not stop us enjoying Krakow & we would return, hopefully to a larger, quieter room in this hotel.

hotel is in an excellent location, rooms are clean towels/bedding are changed each day. There could have been morre choice for breakfast also a toaster would be handy. Only complaint is that we were unable to get coffee at the bar on 2 occasions at 2330 and 2400 hours even though we we informed that the bar stayed open until 0100 hours, when we complained at the reception we were told that the bar was a franchise
