What our customers say
Cant decide whether to rate this as a 3 or a 4, so if there were half points would probably give it a 3 and a half. Not a bad hotel, just not that gripping as a 4 star. Shower was terrible, and the hiddeous colours in the bedroom, and the swirly carpet on the third floor, (which I initially thought was shake and vac) were just too contemporary for this Georgian house, perhaps something a little more classier in the bedroom decor would have made it feel more plush. Staff were pleasant and hotel was clean, location and parking were also good. Dont think we'll be back to this hotel, cant really give an explanation why, as there was nothing really wrong, think it just didnt have the wow factor for me.
Maybe I had set my sights too high as my hubby and I had planned a romantic valentines getaway, with no kids hanging round our ankles, and the hotel just didnt feel like a 4 star, it just lacked some va va voom (thats the hotel that lacked it, not my hubby). Besides that we had a wonderful weekend, Edinburgh is just an amazing place, cant wait to go back.
