4 of us stayed at the Royal Sussex and I must say all 4 of us were hugely disappointed. We found the staff unfriendly, housekeeping bad and the breakfast appalling, i.e. lukewarm and the eating area was very grubby. We had a triple room and the bathroom was way too small for 3 people. It had a clear window facing onto the street and the hotel had thrown an old 'shower curtain' over the pole acting as a curtain which kept falling onto the floor! Lack of tea/coffee making facilities was sorely missed. Also the bar was closed for the entire weekend! Would not stay there again.

I found the Royal Sussex to be good value for money for a central London location, with good access to Paddington Station. The room was clean, if a little small. Would have liked to have tea and coffee facilities in room. Good cooked breakfast, but tea and coffee (UGH). Would stay there again.

We stayed at the Royal Sussex over the February half term. The room was fine, apart from not having any tea/coffee making facilities. The breakfast was luke warm, served up on dusty tables, surely this could easily be remedied. The restaurant was not open, but the location of the hotel made it easy to pop out for a meal. The reception was being painted when we arrived, and was in a mess, but by now I am sure it will be fine. All in all we only used the hotel as a base, but it could be so much better with only a little more care and organisation, especially during breakfast.

'Pleasant' hotel in a good location. Tube stations 5 mins walk. Lots of pubs, restaurants and bars close by. Simple room but clean and not too warm. Could have done with a kettle in the room as I cannot sleep without my horlicks. Nice breakfast and pleasant staff. Would go back.

Very clean hotel. Rooms warm, lovely clean sheets, small room but ok and basic. Everything you needed was there. Breakfast - good variety, excellent service but please make breakfast piping hot as ours were luke warm. This is not a critism but would have made a difference. I would go back there again if I wanted somewhere to stay ion London. In a good area close to Paqddington tube station - 5 mins walk.

Got this room at a low price and it was basic but friendly. The hotel offered full English breakfast and was perfectly located for Paddington station and Underground routes.
