Very convenient hotel

20 May 2008
Reception staff were very friendly and helpful. Location was excellent and easily accessible after travelling from Da Vinci airport to Termini. Room was clean and tidy offering same facilities as 3* at home. Did not eat at hotel other than breakfast which was quite acceptable. Excellent location for the first time visitor to Rome.

NOT A 4 STAR

22 April 2008
great location. freindly and helpful recpetion staff. The rooms don't look like a 4 star hotel. they gave me 2 single beds to make a double so not very comfy in the centre.

The location is perfect for a tourist visiting Rome. The main bus, metro and train stations, (Termini) is two minutes walk, giving access to all the tourist sights. Some are within 20 minutes walk. (The Colusseum for example) The hotel is excellent, with friendly and helpful staff; nothing was too much trouble. The bedroom and bathroom was well appointed and roomy. Breakfast, served from 06.30 to 10.30, is good with a nice choice. English breakfats tea is available! The are a host of restaurants within 15 minutes walk. From Ciampino airport, we took the local bus to the Metro station and came in on the metro. This was 2 euros each and we saved 12 euros each against the shuttle bus. We took the same journey coming home.

Good location, but not 4 star

01 March 2008
Good location. Very central for all transport links. Airport transfer coach stops close by. The hotel is just ok - this is not a 4 star hotel. Room was basic and dated. Stayed in an internal view/courtyard room that suffered constant noise from air conditioning units. I found the hotel to be dull and dated. Breakfast staff need more customer service training. The location is the only good thing about this hotel. I would not re-book.

Great hotel

14 January 2008
This is a great hotel with a perfect location . My friends and I stayed here 11 jan 2008 we were very impressed with the standard and the staff were excellent around the corner from the termini station perfect. We heard the horror stories about hobos etc asleep on the streeets but this was not a big problem saw very little of this. Rome was great but the hotel was perfect would reccomend this to my friends without a worry.

An excellent choice of hotel , bus shuttle to and from airport stops opposite hotel and is 11 euros return as does open top tour bus. 5 minute walk from bus terminus and metro which is 1 euro single. trevi fountain and other locations are within 15 minutes walk. The reception staff are exceptional and nothing is any trouble, all uther staff lovely apart from breakfast staff who are so miserable. The breakfast is adequate the rooms are large with very large bathroom and everything is very clean and well maintained. I would recommend anyone to stay here and certainly if return to rome would not stay anywhere else.

spot on

Before booking this hotel i also checked out trip advisor. i noted mixed reviews but booked anyway because of the convenience of the easyjet terravision bus dropping off and picking up outside the hotel. i was not disappointed at all. the hotel is charming and very clean and tidy. the reception staff were excellent but the breakfast staff were miserable as sin. the rooms are comfortable and large with excellent bathroom facilities. clean towels and sheets every day. the open top bus service begins outside the hotel and there are plenty of restaurants to chose locally. hotel is right by the termini and it is so easy if flying to and from ciampino airport then this hotel is the most convenient. 8 euros per trip to and from the airport. all in all a great choice of hotel for numerous reasons. hotel does have some noise from the road if you are put in a room at the front. was not a real problem as we were so tired!

we found this hotel to be very smart and clean, with good public areas, and it was extremely convienient for the buses, which will take you anywhere in rome. the vatican was a 20 min. ride awawy. also there are plenty of shops for your needs. the hotel provided a very good buffet breakfast, whilst the evening meal could have had a bigger choice of dishes. all in all this modern hotel deserves its rating, and has a great location, so i would recommend to anyone.

The rooms are basic and a little old fashioned but are very clean. The hotel staff are friendly and the location outside the Termini is great for buses or the Metro.
At night the Termini is not the best of areas but its no worse than any such area in the UK and there are always lots of people around.
The other bonus was that the Easyjet Terravision bus drop off point is right outside the hotel which was ideal for us as we had a late flight on Saturday night and Taxi's are very difficult to get from the Termini if we had to travel further to reach a different hotel.
The hotel is a distance from the major tourist sights but we did walk everywhere in the mornings then returned by metro at night (Colosseum 2 stops, Spanish steps 3 stops - all 1 euro).
Ideal for younger couples on a budget although Rome itself was much cheaper than we had thought, maybe too much walking for an older traveller.
We didn't bother with breakfast after the large Roman meals at night! but the dining room looked very nice.

The hotel room was the smallest room i have ever stayed in.  No bath.  Air con did not work.  I have seen bigger Matchboxes!!!!!
Never again to stay there if i return to Rome.  Was told the room had a bath and the room looked bigger on the advert on their web page.

This hotel was fantastic in everyway possible. Got the Terra Vision bus from CIA airport which dropped us off right outside the hotel door. The Termini is only 100yds from the hotel where you can take the underground, train or bus to anywhere in the city. Breakfast was basic but enjoyable all the same and drinks from the bar reasonably priced. Would definitely stay here again if I travel to Rome in the future.

hi just got back frome rome what a lovely place. the royal santina was a good choice for our short stay. it was very central to all locations and kept clean and comfortable.i would say it was a v good 3star but not quite a 4 star .the towels in the bathroom could do with a bit of freshening up and the decor looked a bit tired but all in all it is good value for money as i think the star rate is reflected all over the city.make sure you wear a good pair of flat shoes for walking as most of the pavements are a bit on the rough side and you could have a few spills. have a nice time .chow

Great choice of Hotel for the following reasons;
Excellent breakfast and breakfast room.
Very short walking distance to Termini Bus & rail station.
Again very short walk to the Metro/underground both lines, easy accessibility to all major sites.
The coach from Campino airport stops right outside the door.
Room service, bar service etc excellent....what more do you need?

Excellent location, heart of Rome is easily accessible from hotel.  Excellent food for breakfast.  Friendly and helpful staff.  Only downfall was that it was extremely noisy late at night, being on the main street at Termini station.  If you can cope with the noise - it's perfect!

For an unescorted first visit to Rome, the Royal Santina was ideal.   We took the Easy Jet Bus (cost 14euro eturn) from the airport and were dropped right outside of the hotel.   Although very close to the Main Rome Station, the area was quite good, fairly safe with plenty of restaurents, and shops available for the every day things.   Most of the main sites were within 1/2 hour walk and the metro is 5 minutes walk away, for further afield places like the Vatican.   The Royal Santina was clean and tidy, the staff were polite and helpful, and breakfast, which ended at 1030 am was very adequate.   We will stay there again.

Excellent hotel, staff very friendly.  The hotel is situated in a perfect position.  The Terravision bus from airport drops you just across the road from the hotel. All the sights of Rome are in walking distance, we walked to the Colesseum (very slowly) and it took us 45 minutes. Otherwise the tube and bus terminal are a 3 minute walk from the hotel.  The rooms were very clean and the breakfast was adequate.  Would recommend this hotel to anyone.

Located next to main "Termini" station in Rome, the "terravision" bus from Ciampino airport drops you right outside the hotel entrance which was a real bonus when you arrive late at night in a strange place. The buses also leave from right outside hotel for your return journey back to airport.Hotel was nice & clean, has 24hr reception & staff were friendly & helpfull.Room was clean & tidy & had very good maid service everyday with clean towels & beds made etc.Breakfast had hot buffet which was ok, although scrambled eggs weren't best i've had, but you could have plenty to start you off for day.Location was ok for most of sights in Rome,we found we could walk from one side to other in about an hour, although if you are not as energetic then taxis are reasonable in & around Rome.We would definitely stay there again & enjoyed our visit to this beautifull city immensely.

Excellent central location; ideal for busses and trains.
Staff at front desk could be more approachable and helpful.
Rooms a little on the small side (English 3*)  however clean and tidy.
Breakfast menu very satisfying.
