a welcome stay
01 July 2008
Arrived early and a room was ready so enabled us to leave everything to go to Hyde Park for Nelson Mandela. Room was quite big expected it to be smaller. Bed very comfy and breakfast was delicious. Would definitely use again.

Couldn't ask for better
01 July 2008
Just returned from a fantastic weekend stay at the Royal Lancaster London. Hotel staff from the waitresses at breakfast, the reception staff, concierge etc were all very very friendly and helpfull. Hotel is just across the road from Hyde Park and Lancaster gate tube stop is a mere 2 minute walk from the hotel front door. Hotel itself is very luxurious and borders being 5 star. The value we recieved for money we could not ask for better. Next time we are in London we will dedfinitely stay here and will be recommending same to friends and family.

Great Hotel for gigs in Hyde Park
29 June 2008
Have used this Hotel a couple of times for the Live8 and Mandela concerts in Hyde Park and I recommend it to all my friends. Great location right on Hyde Park and for using the tube to get around the city. I agree that it's more like a 5* than a 4*

REVIEW
27 May 2008
Very nice hotel to stay at. We parked our car at Luton airport and then got the train in. Very easy to do, no hasle at all. Get off the underground at Lancaster Gate and the hotel is right behind you, 2 mins walk to reception. Lovely hotel, very clean, very friendly, extemely well fitted out. Did'nt use the bar, looked far to expensive for my liking. However, great pub next door called the Swan, reasonable prices and really good food. Very easy to get anywhere by tube or bus. Hyde park opposite lovely for a stroll to relax. Nice town 10 mins walk away with loads of restaurants, bars etc. Watch out when you book this hotel, Alpha are great because they included taxes and breakfast so you knew the exact cost, a lot of others dont. Even so, you only get a continental style breakfast, which is ok if you want that. To up grade to a full english you had to pay an extra £2, which in a hotel like this one is laughable really. If you do not include breakfast in your booking it will cost you £19.50 continental or £21.50 english. Go next door to the Swan, massive breakkie £6.50. I would definately stay hear again, very fine hotel.

great time
06 August 2007
Arrived at the hotel around two pm, but due to other guests late check-out the hotel could not check us in til 4pm. We left our lugage at the concierge desk and went to take in the sights. When we arrived back the hotel had upgraded our room for the inconvenience caused so we were very pleased. Staff are very friendly and the public rooms in the hotel are very plush its just a wonderful location so close to the Central Line tube link. A day pass on the tube is £5.10 so we hopped on and off all day and when you are tired its good to know the hotel is just around the corner. The bedrooms are very clean and comfortable and there is a plenty of choice from the continental breakfast.

Review of 'ROYAL LANCASTER'
27 June 2006
Beautiful hotel situated across the road from Hyde Park. Fantastic views from the breakfast room, spotlessly clean accomodation and friendly staff. Car Parking available (some under cover) above the hotel itself (£30 for 24hrs). Thoroughly recommended!

Comfy but costly
18 January 2006
You would be forgiven for thinking the Royal Lanc was a 5* rather than 4* hotel when you walk into the impressive lobby. The staff are friendly and more than happy to answer even the simplest questions. The room itself was immaculate. I've found with a few London hotels that the bathroom often doesn't receive the attention it should but the Royal Lanc was sparklingly clean! The air conditioning was perfect, bed extremely comfy, view unextraordinary but pleasant. My only slight niggling issues are the member of staff who came to my room to check the contents of the minibar at 8:30am whilst I was still in bed and the fact that my 3-figure-per-night room didn't include a full English breakfast - the continental option was a little limited and I thought this was a little stingey! As with most London hotels, the bar is fantastically expensive but that's to be expected. All in all, a pleasurable experience and I'll undoubtably be back at some point.
