First Class Hotel
18 October 2008
We were a party of 10 in Cork for a family celebration. 6 of our group flew from Dublin to Cork on Ryan Air it was cheaper to fly than to travel by train and the flight was only 35 minutes. Rochestown Park Hotle is situated about 15 minutes from Cork Airport, we were able to get a 'people carrier' taxi which could accommodate all of us and the cost was 23 euro.
The reception area of the hotel is luxurious, marble floor for the most part but with deep pile carpet in the various seating areas. The check in was quick and smooth and the receptionist gave us information on the various bars & restaurants which were open if we required refreshments. The bedrooms seem to be split into two different styles - the rooms on the upper levels 300's & 400's were very modern with concealed lighting and flat screen TV's and top of the range showers. The rooms on the lower levels are of a more classic style, a good size with both a double and single bed and a seating area with a table and comfortable chairs. Hairdryers and an iron and iron board are provided in all bedrooms. The beds and bed linen are very confortable, the towels in the bathroom big and fluffy, shampoo, shower cap and shoe shine are provided also.
There are a number of different bars in the hotel and prices are not much more than you would pay in a local pub. I did not get the opportunity to avail of the Spa & Leisure centre but the prices for various treatments seemed reasonable. We attend a function in the hotel in the evening with about 300 people, the service was excellent, the food hot and delicious. Breakfast included a trational Irish breakfast, cereal, fruit, and danish.
We were delighted with our stay in the Rochestown Park Hotel, the staff were helpful & friendly, the accommodation comfortable and the food and beverages excellent. Thanks Alpharooms for having such a great hotle on your website.

Friends enjoying a rare weekend away
13 October 2008
My friend and I stayed at the Rochestown Park for the weekend and were thoroughly pleased with our stay. The hotel has been recently refurbished to a very high standard. The bedrooms are large and very comfortably furnished. The rooms are well-equipped with a plasma TV, tea and coffee making plus hair dryer and iron. The staff were friendly and helpful and when the toilet in our room began to leak we were offered another room immediately without any fuss. The food was excellent - in fact it was so good we did't eat anywhere else. We expected to spend most of our time sight seeing around Cork but were so impressed with the Rochestown Park that we spent quite a lot of our weekend enjoying the hotel's facilities. We would definitely recommend the hotel and will certainly stay there again.

On a business trip
11 April 2008
I have stayed at this hotel in the past and it seems to be getting better each time I stay. I was in room 435 which I found a little hard to find due to lack of signage but once I found it I was greatly impressed. It was large with every facility you require for a comfortable stay. The staff are very good and helpful and I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

Rochestown Park Review
24 March 2008
We spent a couple of nights at the Rochestown Park on a very short break to Ireland. We would have loved to stay longer and would definitely go there again. Despite there being on-going major refurbishments the accommodation, facilities and customer service in every respect was excellent.
I had read many reviews before going, most were good but there are a few out there which are not complementary, one issue being some unsatisfactory rooms - this particularly made me feel uneasy so that I e-mailed the hotel prior to our visit. I was re-assured that some rooms had been taken out of use and that refurbishment was taking place. Our room was one of the best ever with very good quality furnishings, lots of room and a bathroom with bath and separate shower - usually one or the other. Leisure facilities excellent. Bar atmosphere and food excellent.

Was I Lucky
30 June 2007
We have just returned from a weekend stay at The Rochestown Park Hotel, I ask if I was lucky because the room we had allocated to us was a suite which comprised two double beds, dining table and four chairs, a lounge area with two easy chairs and a settee and lots of cupboard space all in all very nice. On the first night we took a trip into Cork which is a 15 min Taxi ride at a cost of about £7 then we doubled back to Barries Bar in Dougles at the recommendations of the taxi driver who picked us up at the airport, he was not wrong a very good bar and good clientele. Dougles is only a short walk of about 10mins from the hotel once you discover the short cut through the retail park. On the Sunday evening the hotel was advertising a carvery in the main restaurant at a price of 15 Euros (£10) which we took advantage of. It was good quality and came with a generous portion of meat of which there was three choices. The same carvery was on offer on Monday lunch time at a cost of 12 Euros there was a number of locals and conference people eating which has to tell you something. The Dougles Tavern which is situated at one end of the hotel is more like a sports bar coupled with a conservatory very good selection of food and drinks (the drinks a little pricey but that is the norm for Ireland) this too was well used by locals.
Used the leisure facilities twice these are also very good and clean.
I feel that I made one mistake we should have hired a car which I could have picked up on arrival at the airport which is an easy drive to the hotel and we could have explored the area greater on the Sunday because there is very little life in the area until after 2pm.
In all a very relaxing break and a good hotel which I would have no hesitation in using again.

Review of 'ROCHESTOWN PARK'
29 January 2007
We booked this hotel mainly cos of the Leisure Centre it boasts and we weren't disappointed. The award winning leisure centre is lovely, we treat ourselves to a seaweed bath, whch consists of lying in a mucky jacuzzi bath for 20mins, very relaxing but very smelly! We found the drinks at the hotel quite expensive but the Douglas Tavern bar at the hotel serves some very reasonably priced bar meals which were very nice. The hotel looks like a 4star in the public areas but i felt the bedrooms were of the normal 3 star hotel standard you'd get anywhere else.
The hotel was a taxi ride into Cork City but a good 15/20min walk into Douglas Vllage.
All in all we had a pleasant stay, had it not been for the leisure centre i think we would have stayed somewhere a bit nearer into town.

Review of 'ROCHESTOWN PARK'
02 January 2007
The hotel is about a 10 min drive from Cork City Centre in a small village called Douglas. When I rang two days before to book some spa treatments I found the staff quite rude, however, this was the only bad experience I had with the hotel. Upon arrival our check in was handled very quickly even though there were numerous guests checking in (due to two weddings that day at the hotel). Our room was fairly standard, with a bath/shower. Even though the radiator was hot & the windows were closed the room was freezing when I contacted reception they offered me a second room which was almost double in size & with its own controlled air conditioning system. This room had separate bath & shower. Breakfast in the restaurant & dinner (at the Bar) were excellent in quality & value. The spa treatments were very enjoyable. Overall the staff were extremely helpful & service was excellent.

Review of 'ROCHESTOWN PARK'
14 November 2006
The Rochestown Park was a great place to stay, whether on a weekend break with your partner like us or have a break with the children, the hotel caters for everyone. The pub within the hotel as a lovely atmosphere and the food looked great, the hotel pool area is great for relaxing, with a children's secton and a steam, sauna and hot tub for the adults. The breakfast couldn't be faulted with a great selection for everyone. The hotel is ten minute stroll into Douglas centre with a variety of resturants and a couple of bars, or you could catch the bus from there into Cork centre only a ten minute ride away. We had an enjoyable weekend and would recommend the hotel.

Review of 'ROCHESTOWN PARK'
29 September 2006
Although some distance from central Cork, the village of Douglass is a five minute stroll, with good eateries, shopping centre Etc., so location is good. Accommodation and service was to the level expected of a four star hotel, the food could have been better, but that applies to most hotels! - It wasn't bad. Overall, a very pleasant hotel, and represented good value for money.

This was the first time I had used Alpha rooms and the service was excellent no problems with the voucher and the hotel was excellent, the room was big and clean with excellent facilities, the hotel food was good and the gym and pool were brilliant. I would reccomend this hotel to anyone who is planning a trip to Cork, it cost 10 euros from the airport to the hotel and 12 to the city centre from the hotel, you can walk 5 minutes from hotel into Douglas which has plenty of good bars and resteraunts.

Excellent Hotel, Rooms very comfortable and the leisure facilities were suberb. Breafast served until 10 and a noon checkout suited our laid back weekend. £15 Euro cab ride from the airport and the same price for a Taxi to the heart of the city centre. Five minute walk into the village of Douglas with pubs and a shopping centre. All you need is here whatever the weather and i would not hesitate to recommend it or use the hotel again.
