Great location, comfortable, clean and made our first time in Barcelona very enjoyable. We look forward to returning and staying again.

Location, location, location

Great location. Clean but ordinary room. Dark and uninspiring colours. No balcony, but we had a view over Ramblas. Luckily it was quite good isolation so we could sleep soundly. There were som riots after the cup finals and my wife slept through it all. Nice bathroom. We found the breakfast very expensive (19 euro pp for buffet breakfast). There were several nearby eating places outside the hotel. We had a great time in Barcelona!

Ideal for a short stay

08 April 2009
This Hotel is ideally located on the Rambla at the 'top' end near to the Plazza Catalunia. We had a room overlooking the Rambla on the third floor - it was a little noisy but this was more than compensated for by the view! I would certainly NOT take a room any lower than this at the front. The rooms are nice, well decorated and the bathrooms are very good (but under lit). Service in the Hotel is good and the Breakfast is good and more than enough to get you through the day if you are on a budget. Overall highly recommended for a short stay.

Average room for £600 for 6 nights for 2, thought the price was a little too high for the standard of the room. Had a room at the back of the hotel with a balcony overlooking the catherdral and you could see the shore line which was lovely. Annoying that you have to pay extra for the safe in the room. All in all abit to expensive for a standard room. I wouldnt rate the hotel 4* either.

I can only echo what the majority of other people have said. Fantastic hotel, superb room and second to none location. Situated right on La Ramblas and only a 5-10 minute walk to the port . A variety of restaurants to chose from all within easy walking distance. All the staff were helpful and friendly.

Can't rate this hotel highly enough! Incredible position - friendly and helpful staff and a great room facing Las Ramblas. Highlight for us was the rooftop jacuzzi with the windows open and lights off looking panoramically over Barca Awesome - as regular visitoes to Braca defo staying here again!!

Great Hotel

04 July 2007
The best feature of the hotel is the location as you are in the middle of everything. 5 mins to the harbour,5 mins to the gothic quarter, in the middle of the bars and restaurants but when you get back to your air conditioned room all you hear is peace and quiet. The rooms are clean, bed is comfy bathroom includes a huge bath. Breakfast was ok (there is plenty of fresh fruit and a large selection of strange cold meats that the europeans eat).Would definitely stay there again.

Review of 'RIVOLI RAMBLAS'

24 February 2007
We stayed at the Rivoli Ramlas in February for 3 nights.

The hotel was in an excellent location, in the heart of all the action. Just a few minutes walk to the main square where all the transport links are, you can catch the tour buses from there and they take you round Barcelona for a resonable price. Highly recommended.

We asked for a double room and they placed us in a king size room on the second floor, it was very nice.  GORGEOUS bathroom! I didnt use the hair dryer though, very old fashioned and a bit scary!

The only problem with the room was there was 1 window but it was locked so we couldnt get any air.  The air conditioning wasnt on, it was just the heating. We didnt need that on!  So it got very stuffy near the end of our stay.

The hotel was going though some building work on the first floor so about 8.00 in the morning it would wake you up.  This was annoying.

We checked out the 7th floor where the spa and facilities were and the terrace looked lovely, Gorgeous views of all around Barcelona.  Its such a shame you have to pay for using the sauna and facilities.   You would have thought its included in the price, seen as the hotel has got 4 stars.

The breakfast was a buffet.  It was nice, it had everything like fruit, cereal, cheeses, meats. the only things we could see for a english breakfast was scambled egg and bacon. It was a good selection though.

Some lovely restaurants around the hotel, we were very happy with a few, only about 40 euros for a meal for two people including starter, 2 drinks, mains and pudding.

On the opposite side of the ramblas there was a supermarket, this was very handy, for cold drinks, snacks anything you wanted.

The hotel reception staff were very helpful and spoke very good english.

By the way it says theres a safe in your room included but you have to pay for this.  Its 2 euros a day.  We were fine,  you hear storys about pickpocketers but we felt very safe at both day and night walking around Barcelona.

This lovely hotel was idealy situated for finding your bearings in and around the heart of Barcelona.  English speaking, very friendly, obliging staff.  Room spacious, lovely bed linen, cleanliness excellent.
Buffet breakfast with excellent choice, cereals, fruit, meat, cheese, pastries etc and English breakfast (spanish english breakfast)!!  Ideal for romantic break away.  Top tip ask for quiet room on the back, front of hotel can be a little noisy at night and hotel room phone is cheap to use.
Would definately use again and recommend to others.
A BIG Thanks to Alpha Rooms.

The hotel was ok, & yes just ok, we were looking forward to our stay in Barcelona & staying in a four star hotel, The rooms were very basic, but clean. There were no hot drinks facility in the room, & the hair dryer was from the dark ages, time to up date them!!!!
We didnt spend much time in the hotel & it certainly didnt spoil our break in the city.
The reception staff were not over friendly either.
Also there was no mention of payment if we wanted to use the hotel sauna & jacuzi, which was a little dissapointing, this should be stated.

Stopped in Rivoli Ramblas in July 06. Fantastic position close to the top of La Rambla. We were really impressed with the quality of the room. Nice and spacious, awesome shower and a large balcony looking out onto La Rambla. Be aware that there was no double glazing so it does get a tad noisey especially as La Rambla is busy until 4am.
Staff were great, polite and spoke good english.
We would definately go back.

An excellent hotel in an ideal location to access all the sights of Barcelona. The staff were frindly and helpful. We stayed in a newly refurbished room on the 7th floor which had a rear balcony with good views. The room was first class and the breakfast was one of the best I have had in this type of Hotel. We found the Hotel through Alpha rooms and recommended both them and the Hotel to our friends who will be staying there prior to joining a cruise in June.

Review of 'RIVOLI RAMBLAS'

10 August 2005
We stayed at the Rivoli Ramblas in Febraury on a short 4 night break. The hotel was excellent. The staff on reception are warm and welcoming as well as efficient and speak excellent English.
On our arrival we were given the choice of a room overlooking the Ramblas or a room at the back if we preferred a really quiet room. We opted for a front room. What a great choice as you could look out onto the busy Ramblas and take in all the hustle and bustle from your room.
The room itself was of a very high standard providing all the little nik-naks you would expect in a 4* hotel. There was never a shortage of hot water whatever time of the day you wished it. The standard of cleanliness was very high with the room cleaned every day and fresh towels every time if you wanted.
The location was the jewel in the crown for us as you could walk out of the hotel main entrance and there you were, in the thick of everything, which was very important to us only being there for a short time we felt that a central location was ideal.
The harbour was lterally five minutes walk one way with the Placa De Catalunya five minutes the other. A metro station was 2 minutes up the road and the railway station a ten minute walk away if you wanted to go along the coast.
The restaurant in the hotel offered a varied menu at breakfast or evening meal with the food being of an exceptionally high standard. It was a bit pricier than surrounding restaurants but if you want quality then its well worth the extra.
The amenities in the hotel ranged from a bar in reception where different pianists performed nightly or maybe a place to chill before a night on the town or after a busy night. The hotel did have a rooftop terrace but i must admit, even though the weather was excellent for February we were far too busy out and about both daytime and evening.
Whatever your requirements, the staff on reception are only too keen to help and are happy to order taxis , give details about things going on in the local area. They are also happy to give information about trains, buses and famous barcelona attractions.

I am looking forward to my next short break to Barcelona and will certainly try to stay at this Hotel again. I would have no problem recommending it to anybody as it caters for all ages, needs, likes and dislikes.
