Riu Nautilus
05 June 2007
Just spent 1 week at the hotel (May 2007) Could not complain about anything. Asked at reception if could have pool view and was given a sea view suite at no extra charge. Food was superb with good variety. Very clean in all areas of the hotel. Visitors to the hotel were mainly older Dutch / German in 50+ age group. The night time entertainment reflected this with music that suited this age group. Although made to feel very welcome not really suited towards children, the pool starts at depth of aprrox 4ft. althougt there is a paddling pool for really young children. Plenty of sunbeds around pool even if you did arrive late. Location was great, directly on beach and 200 yards from Port area. Staff all very helpful and friendly. No hesitation in recommending this hotel for the person looking for a quiet base hotel with that little bit of class.

The Riu Nautilus is essentially a Five Star Hotel, but is only rated at 4 Star, it is beutifully furnished and decorated to a very high standard. The food is superb and plentiful with a very wide choice to suit all tastes for both young and old. The staff were very friendly and helpful and seem to be able to understand English, French and German without too much problem. It has an excellent pool area with plenty of sunbeds and the beach is literally a stones throw away. My wife and I highly recommend this Hotel to you.

You just can't beat the service you receive from the Riu group of hotels and the Riu Nautilus is no exception. First class service from arrival to departure. Every member of staff has a smile to give you from the Reception staff to the room maids. The food as usual with the Riu group is excellent and the deserts are to die for. You could never go hungry as there is something for everyone. The only problem is the inches you are likely to add to your waistline! The hotel is ideally situated close to the beach with a lovely promenade to walk along in either direction to work of some of the food you have just enjoyed. Plenty of bars and places to eat should you want a change from the hotel along the route. Would certainly recommend this hotel but we knew that we would be able to having stayed in Riu hotels elsewhere.

The Riu Nautilus is an excellent hotel in a really good location. Taxi from Malaga airport costs 20Euros (Jan06). The hotel is very comfortable and clients return time after time which must say something for the way the hotel looks after the guests. The staff are second to none and very obliging and friendly, almost all speak good english and most speak french and german also. There are plenty of sunbeds and matresses and plenty of room around the pool. The food is good and varied with meat and fish dishes available each evening in the restaurant where there are two sittings. The location of the hotel could not be bettered really as it is near the Benalmadena Marina and a few minutes walk along the lovely promenade to Carueala and Montemar with lots of interesting bars and shops. It is about 25 minutes walk to Torremolinos centre although there is a little bus that stops almost outside the hotel that can be taken for 1 euro. Entertainment is provided each evening in the lounge in common with many hotels. I like the Riu Nautilus, many guests have long stays of 9 - 12 weeks which speaks for itself, go and enjoy it.

Booked through Alpharooms.com who, provide a trouble and worry free service for a bargain price. The hotel was truly 4 star, large, clean and comfortable rooms with maid service and fresh towels everyday. The buffet style meals were excellent in choice, quality and presentation. The hotel staff was most helpful and courteous and the champagne welcome was a nice touch. Highly recommended and would love to return.

A real gem on the Costa del Sol. Yes I know it's all a bit in need of a makeover down here but this hotel is a real star, honest! Riu are a superb hotel group, very high quality in every department, and you will not be disappointed with this excellent accommodation. Staff, food, rooms(request the new block)are really above the average. Value for money you can't beat it and we have stayed at a lot of Riu hotels. Riu Nautilus was better than the Riu Palace Bonanza Playa in Majorca! Check that out! Riu Palace Hotels are meant to be be on higher catagory but no way with the Nautilus! This Hotel is a real gem so don't tell all your friends or else the price will go up!
PS It's really that good, but if you are under 20 don't go in the Winter Season because your Grandma & Grandad will be there having the time of their lives!

Beautiful hotel, comfortable rooms and very spacious. Food very good but found the dining room a bit like a cafeteria the younger members of staff very friendly and helpful but found the older staff a bit "superior", didn't enjoy the experience in the dining room. Only stayed a few days but probably wouldn't stay there again.

Everything about the hotel is superb. Wonderful food, helpful, friendly and pleasant staff. The hotel is exceptionally clean, in particular the toilets which are a pleasure to visit.
The only criticism I would make is that the towels in the bedrooms are thin and unpleasant in colour!
I have stayed at the Riu on 4 occasions and everytime it has been as good as the last time!

This is an excellent Hotel and I would say that it is situated in the best place as it is good for the marina area and the beach. The Hotel is 5* for cuisine, cleanliness and friendliness of the staff. The pool area is very nice overlooking the beach and the nightlife has a good atmosphere with walking distance of local bars and restaurants. Had a fabulous time here and would love to go again.

The hotel was nice it was in a nice place and the food was very good. But after booking six months in advance and getting there the hotel was over booked and we were given a room in the basement,Well it now seems it goes on a lot at this hotel so the rep told us,Down in the basement you dont know if it is sunny or cold till you get ready and go out,In my mind the hotel is for older people as it is a bit upmarket. Not one young person was in the hotel the whole time we were there.
