Good value for money, with a smile!

Stayed in Renoir for 3 days during St. Patrick's weekend. As already stated in the previous reviews, the location of the hotel is just perfect! Area might not be very "posh" but you will be handy in the middle of the city, only few minutes walk to the main shopping district and public transportation at your door step to nearly anywhere in SF.
The staff were very helpful and always greeted us with a smile. The room is spacious enough, could do with a little bit of modernising (bring your own towel btw... the ones from the hotel were ridiculously small).
All in all, I cannot say that I can complain and would recommend this hotel to everyone who wants to get the most out of the location and does not intend to spent all of the city break in the hotel.

the Renoir Hotel in centrel San Francisco is a fine example of 1920 buliding, it is a old hotel but clean, and the staff are very professional. the location is right on the main F car route and has a Bart station about 500 yards away that links you to the airport. the only down side to the Renoir is a noumber of homless shelters near by means in the late after noon the "bums" tend to line the two block area around the hotel but in all fairness they are not aggresive in any way. this area also has a number of strip "joints" so familys with children need to know. I would highly recommend the Renior Hotel to young and mature travellers who like to feel a city and it's transport links can not be betten (no. 80 bus from 7th street to golden gate bridge )

Staff helpful and friendly, building interior was 'tired', coffee and tea making facilitites in room would have been a great asset. Location close to main shopping areas and transport to other areas/attractions very good although as stated in other information there are homeless people very evident in area but were never threatening and we never felt uneasy walking around.

Review of 'RENOIR'

The hotel is very good, with a central location in downtown San Francisco. The price was also very good because I paid some 3 months in advance. The price that I paid was around 50% the list price. The hotel is rather old, but it has a beautiful facade and the maintenance service is good. If I return to San Francisco in 2007 I will stay again in the Renoir Hotel.
