The Regent Hotel is described as having a unique grandeur and is a landmark on Oban Esplanade offering an eclectic mix Victorian and classic 1930s Art Deco architecture. The hotel is made up of two parts, the older half built in 1896 and the newer half built 1928. The attractions in the area comprise the sacred isle of Iona, trips to Mull and the opportunity to take a boat ride to the local seal colony. Each guest room is en-suite with hairdryer, TV, telephone, tea and coffee making facilities. Wireless broadband is also accessible in all areas of the hotel. Rooms designed to accommodate disabled guest are available on request. The hotel provides a complimentary daily maid service. Room service is available during breakfast and dinner times. The hotel's restaurant serves delicious, freshly prepared food and the hotel bar even serves its own whisky. The Marine Restaurant has a multi-choice four course table d'Hote Menu. Also there is an extensive choice of a la carte dishes and a wide selection of wine to compliment your meal. The Regent Hotel offers wedding packages for your special day, with a dedicated member of staff to help co-ordinate. The Regent Hotel is one on the few hotels in the area with conference facilities. There are two conference rooms - the McCaig and the Drawing Room. The larger of the two rooms can accommodate up to 60 people comfortably. Many rooms in the hotel offer fantastic views across Oban bay, non-smoking rooms are available on request, there is a guest lift and pets are welcome.

Like so many hotels found in coastal towns the Regent hotel is well past it's best! Whilst the double rooms might be clean and comfortable, the single room I occupied certainly was not. Yes, it had a view of the bay, but I would have forgone that for a clean mould free shower and decent furniture! I stay away for busines and pleasure frequently (the Regent was the third hotel which I had stayed in that week) and I have to say that this is one of the worst rooms I have stayed in
