Our great time at the Regent Hotel, Oban
31 March 2007
This was our first stay at the Regent Hotel in Oban so we weren't sure what to expect. Well all we can say is that we weren't disappointed. The Regent is a lovely Hotel and well worth a visit. Our Hotel room was very clean and a good size. The bedding was crisp, white and fresh - a pleasure to sleep in. Our room looked out across the bay and the view was spectacular. We never tired of watching the little fishing boats sailing in and out of the Harbour. There was an amusing incident with a seagull who we named Jonathan. On the first day we arrived, we opened our curtains to be greeted by "Jonathan" -a cheeky seagull who stood on the window-ledge and tapped on our window to say "Hello". He seemed very pleased to see us, and we had to laugh. We booked for bed and breakfast only. Morning breakfast was always served hot and fresh - so no complaints there! We recommend that you try the kippers or haddock, cooked to order and very tasty. There are really no bad comments to make about the Regent Hotel. The Hotel staff were all friendly, polite and eager to help. What more could we ask for? Oban is very pretty with loads of character and we will definitely be coming back for another visit - and guess what? We will be choosing the Regent Hotel again, no question about that!
