Past It's Best

01 November 2007
Like so many hotels found in coastal towns the Regent hotel is well past it's best! Whilst the double rooms might be clean and comfortable, the single room I occupied certainly was not. Yes, it had a view of the bay, but I would have forgone that for a clean mould free shower and decent furniture! I stay away for busines and pleasure frequently (the Regent was the third hotel which I had stayed in that week) and I have to say that this is one of the worst rooms I have stayed in

An end of holiday weekend

19 June 2007
We needed a convenient hotel for just 2 days at the end of our holiday in Scotland. We were booked on a wildlife safari on Mull for Saturday 16th June 2007 and needed to be on the 9.30 am ferry. the Regent Hotel was a very convenient base for us. It is the sort of hotel that is frequented by coach parties. Our room was clean and very comfortable. We had a good breakfast on both days and enjoyed our break in Oban very much. Guests need to be aware that carparking costs about £5 per day, but is free overnight and on Sunday mornings, until 1pm. You can offload your luggage outside the hotel and then need to move to the carpark, opposite, near the Columba Hotel

Our great time at the Regent Hotel, Oban

31 March 2007
This was our first stay at the Regent Hotel in Oban so we weren't sure what to expect. Well all we can say is that we weren't disappointed. The Regent is a lovely Hotel and well worth a visit. Our Hotel room was very clean and a good size. The bedding was crisp, white and fresh - a pleasure to sleep in. Our room looked out across the bay and the view was spectacular. We never tired of watching the little fishing boats sailing in and out of the Harbour. There was an amusing incident with a seagull who we named Jonathan. On the first day we arrived, we opened our curtains to be greeted by "Jonathan" -a cheeky seagull who stood on the window-ledge and tapped on our window to say "Hello".  He seemed very pleased to see us, and we had to laugh. We booked for bed and breakfast only. Morning breakfast was always served hot and fresh - so no complaints there! We recommend that you try the kippers or haddock, cooked to order and very tasty. There are really no bad comments to make about the Regent Hotel. The Hotel staff were all friendly, polite and eager to help. What more could we ask for? Oban is very pretty with loads of character and we will definitely be coming back for another visit - and guess what?  We will be choosing the Regent Hotel again, no question about that!

Regent Hotel Oban

27 February 2007
Very comfortable hotel situated on the esplanade in Oban with outstanding sea views.
Car parking is a serious problem and the only solution is to pay either on the street (expensive) or car parks (more reasonable). We pointed out that the website does mention a car park but this is not so, said they are trying to get council to issue vouchers for guests. Parking free overnight and Sundays.
