Perfect Hotel in Nice
08 August 2008
I'm was a bit reluctant to write this review as I might find the Regence booked out next time I plan to stay there! Anyway, we stayed 3 nights in the Regence in Aug 2008 - what a lovely hotel, perfect location, only a few minutes walk from the beach, very clean, the staff are very helpful and friendly. Even though you are at the centre of things, our room was very quiet (we stayed in room 512 at the back). Rooms were fine, average size and very tidy, flat screen TV with French channels only. Breakfast was simple but perfectly adequate. I can't wait to stay here again next time we're in Nice!

Regence Hotel
15 July 2008
Just got back from staying at The Regence and what a superb break we had! The hotel was well priced, clean and the staff friendly and very patience with our attempts at french. We had room 401 which looked out onto a courtyard. It was very quiet, considering the location of the hotel. We'll certainly be recommnding The Regence to all our friends and not forgetting Nice itself - just wonderful!

Location Great
07 June 2008
Hotel Regence was a nice Hotel, my room was 211 bit noisy at night with being in busy street, wasnt the Hotel fault because the street is a liverly one at night. Their was double glaze windows has well, so would have a room at back Hotel next time but was full when I went. Also would be a nice at Breakfast to have Cheese/Ham and a bit more choice but it wasnt a problem at time. Would stay there again and recommend it for the location for being central around Nice.

I stayed here here with my friend two years ago and couldn't wiat to go back! This time we took another friend to celebrate her 60 th birthday and we weren't disappointed. The hotel had been refurbished since our last stay. I had room 503 all to myself and it was brilliant - clean and fresh with a wonderful big, modern bathroom. The room overlooked a pretty courtyard, filled with plants. At night everything was quiet and the following morning started with a delicious breakfast of fresh bread and coffee. The hotel is in a great position, especially for women travelling on their own as we could leave the hotel and trip along the street to a great selection of reasonably priced restaurants. The bus and train sations are within walking distance for visits to Cannes or Monaco and many other exciting places.
Can't wiat to go again and didn't know whether to share this good hotel with others as don't want it to get too popular!

Super find in Nice
27 April 2008
We have just arrived back from a short break in Nice, staying at the Regence. It was a lovely hotel. We had picked it after looking at reviews on several sites. I would recommend this hotel to anyone, whatever their age group. It is in the pedestrian area and so is well situated for the open spaces and also the old town. A short walk took you to the bus depot, and a shorter walk took you down to the promanade, from where a bus back to the airport could be caught. The hotel itself was a delight, spotlessly clean (towels & linen changed daily) comfortable and well appointed. I liked the fact that a small safe was located in the room at no extra charge. The breakfast was adequate. The staff were friendly and helpfull, and their English was much better than my French!

Nice hotel, situated a short tram hop from the main rail station and amongst a host of good and reasonably priced restaurants, whilst extremely handy for shopping such as the Gallerie Lafayette, or the markets and restaurants of the old town and a little further stroll to the beach at Promenade D'Anglaise.
The hotel was spotlessly clean and the staff friendly and accommodating. the rooms are basic but on the whole it is excellent value for money and a really good base for a city break in Nice. Would certainly visit again.

Hotel Regence Nice - 3 Nights 5 April
09 April 2008
We have just returned from 3 nights in the Regence in Nice. The reviews very spot on I would have to agree the Hotel is in a fantastic location - get the number 98 bus from airport and get off at albert 1er take down the street Rue Massena. We found the price of drink and food quite expensive, keep off the beaten track - the old town is much cheaper, we had 2 beers at one of the bars on the front promenede and it was 21 euros. Be prepared for an expensive place. The breakfast was included in the price and was sufficient. If I return to Nice I would stay in the Regence Hotel again.

Hotel Regence, Nice
20 October 2007
I have just returned from a week at the Regence in Nice. After reading the other reviews, I must agree that this is a wonderful little hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful - nothing was too much trouble for them. They appreciated my feeble attempts to speak French. My room - no.404 - was a good size and spotlessly clean. It had a very comfortable double bed and was carpeted throughout. The bathroom was immaculate with a very powerful shower. Towels were changed frequently even without asking. The breakfasts were basic but adequate, consisting of bread rolls with jams and butter, fruit juice and coffee or tea. To eat more substantially, there were a vast array of restaurants just outside the front door on Rue Massena - a pedestrian precinct which was always buzzing with activity. The hotel was well situated for getting around the area and was only about 5 minutes from the Promenade des Anglais and the sea. Altogether, a very pleasant experience which I would be happy to repeat. Well done Alpha Rooms for finding this gem of a hotel.

Good Value
14 September 2007
This is a well situated and well run hotel. No fancy trimmings just a good basic place to stay right in the centre of town. If you can find fault here it might be best if you stayed at home!

Best value hotel in France
31 July 2007
This hotel was excellent value for money. It was easy to find from the train station and the staff were so friendly. We could check in early and checkout wasnt until 12 noon so we could spend our final hours on the beach before heading home. The breakfast is basis but there is enough of it. We will be back again.

REGENCE HOTEL NICE
30 June 2007
The Hotel was a great find. It is basic but quite adequate for our needs .The stafff were very friendly from the time that we booked in June 20th to the 27th.
The room was very clean and tidy especially the bathh room. Clean towels were replaced on a regular basis even without being asked. The hotel is located about five minutes from the promenade and there are many places to eat just outside the hotel. When we go to Nice again we will definitely try to book into this hotel as it could not be bettered for the money - thanks to alpha room for a great booking as there were no problems at all.

Great for a break
19 June 2007
Just returned after 3 nights in Nice. Another hotel booked through Alpha rooms and its come up trumps again. Hotels location is fantastic, you couldnt get better. Very basic room, clean. Ideal for what we wanted. Breakfast ok. Take your own teabags. Coffee was excellent. Watch the trains if you plan to travel to cannes or monte carlo on a sunday would suggest alternate day, due to cancellations and weird timetable. Well worth a visit to both places. You will really see how the other half lives! Hotel staff really friendly and helpful. Nice even though a really bustling busy city was a friendly place with lots to do and see and it oozes class.

REVIEW OF THE REGENCE, NICE
12 June 2007
We have just returned from Nice and the Fabulour Regence Hotel. Could not get a better location. Hotel has everything on its doorstep. Beach only 2 minutes away - shops, lovely restaurants, market, the Old Town, Transport etc. Reception staff very helpful - can organise any trips without having to leave the hotel. Bus Station within walking distance 10-mins. We took a bus to Monaco and Monte Carlo, the Reception staff also booked us a cab to go to Cannes which cost €78 each way, for four of us, as trains not too regular on a Sunday.
Would definitely recommend this hotel as a base for sight-seeing.

Review of 'Regence'
28 February 2007
Had a great 7 night break at the Regence during Carneval. Brilliant parades. Lovely hotel, spotlessly clean with very pleasant staff. Extremely well situated for exploring the city. Close to Promenade and 10-15 minutes walk to Bus Station (Gare Routiere) and trains (Gare de Nice). Good prices for both types of ticket. Bus 98 from Airport to Albert 1er Gardens (east side) 20 minutes approx. Short walk across gardens, up Rue Paradis and left into Rue Massena. Couple of minor blips - hot water barely warm for showers/hand washing; take your own travel kettle and tea/coffee etc or pay 1Euro50 out of machine in dining area.Would stay again.

Review of 'Regence'
05 February 2007
A great location for this little hotel. The staff were very welcoming and helpful and gave us lots of tips of places to visit and eat. The hotel was very clean and the breakfast was a basket of rolls and plain and choc croissants with tea, juice and coffee. If you want anymore then just step outside the many restaurants on the doorstep.
The hotel is right in the pedestrian zone with an abundance of shops and restaurants and within walking distance of the old town. Everything is accessible by bus too.
A quick tip - get the 98 bus from the airport for 4 Euros and you can use the ticket all day on all the buses.
This hotel is definitely recommended.

The hotel is in a central, convenient location yet the room was very quiet. It was exceptionally clean and although the room was small it was bright, well maintained and comfortable. The reception staff were friendly and helpful and breakfast was more than adequate.

Very pleasant and helpful staff. The hotel was in a predestrian street with lots of eating places nearby and was very central to lots of places of interest. We had a room at the back of the hotel which was very quiet. A very good 2* hotel.

Review of 'REGENCE'
24 July 2006
Regence Hotel offers stunning value for money.
The air conditioning is excellent – you look forward to walking in as relief from the heat. The whole hotel is air conditioned – the reception, breakfast room, corridors and bedrooms.
The staff are very friendly – you can’t walk past one without them saying ‘Bonjour’. However, they aren’t in your face – its bonjour and go. The reception staff speak perfect English, although they appreciate your attempts at French. Reception will also advise on how best to get round the other resorts in the area.
The rooms are spotlessly clean. They have a double bed, a wardrobe, desk and chair, and TV. The bathroom is huge, with really powerful showers. The only mirror is in the bathroom – there isn’t one in the bedroom. The bathroom comes equipped with a hair dryer, shaver point and heated towel rail.
The breakfasts aren’t huge – if you want a full English, then you’ll have to buy one in a nearby café. Each table (for 2 people) gets a basket comprising of 2 bread rolls, 2 croissants and 2 ‘pain au chocolat’. You can help yourself to tea, coffee, hot chocolate or orange juice as often as you like.
Geographically, it’s perfect. The hotel is right in the middle of the pedestrian zone, where there are numerous tourists shops and excellent restaurants. It’s a 5 minute walk to the main shops (such as Virgin Megastores), and less than a 5 minute walk to the beach and promenade. The train station is about a 15 minute walk away, and the bus station 10 minutes. The heart of the old town can also be reached in less than 15 minutes. A bus from the airport will also put you down less than 5 minutes from the hotel.
In conclusion, there is nothing to complain about. We’ll definitely stay there again if we return to Nice, and would recommend it to anyone.

This was our second stay at the Regence. The hotel is in an ideal central location and makes a great base for exploring Nice. The staff are friendly, helpful and welcoming. The rooms are above average for the price, have satellite tv and a free safe. The continental breakfasts are good and I cannot fault the hotel.

Review of 'REGENCE'
07 May 2006
The hotel was is in a good central location in the heart of Nice on a pedestrian street, with a variety of shops and cafes/restaurants. Not too far to walk to the beach and within about 10 mins walk from the railway station, or a short taxi ride. We had a twin room on the second floor at the front of the hotel. The room was very clean and comforatable, if a little plain. The shower room/toilet was immaculate. There was virtually no noise coming from the other rooms and only some slight street noise which was kept to a minimum by the good double glazed window. TV had a selection of different channels in 4 languages (French, English, German and Italian) although the 2 English Language stations were both news channels. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the breakfast was ok - a small selection of bread/croissants on each table and you could help yourself to as much coffee/tea and orange juice as you liked. The price was excellent - I paid only £55 (around 78 Euros)for the room per night, which included the breakfast in early May through Alpharooms. If you are looking for a clean, centrally located and cheap hotel in Nice, you can't go too wrong with the Regence. (07/05/2006)

Review of 'REGENCE'
11 April 2006
Chose this hotel after reading lots of decent reviews and I have to say I wasn't disappointed. For a two star hotel the service was excellent and all the reception staff (of which there seemed to be lots) were very helpful and friendly. The chambermaids had all been similarly trained and spoke equally good English! Although the room was small (there are larger available) it was adequate for a short stay. Bathroom spotless, good shower and plenty of hot water. The breakfast was what we'd expect in a French B&B and good quality (such nice bread!). Location, in the pedestrianised area, couldn't have been better, ten minutes to bus stops to/from the airport, the glorious promenade, and of course, the expensive shops! Loads of restaurants on the doorstep. What more could you ask?

Very nice hotel. Looks nothing from outside but lovely reception area and very nice large room (307) and nice bathroom. Breakfast basic but good, orange juice, coffee and croissants. Location could not be better, right in the heart of Nice 5min walk to the beach and in a pedestrian precinct with lots of cafes and restaurants. Secure covered parking is available at sister hotel Massenet 5min walk from Regence. Will stay here again.
