Great value!!
24 July 2008
We have just returned after a week with our 2 children aged 14 & 18 and had a great time.
I have read all the comments about the food etc but I am convinced that the English tourist abroad does not"get it".You need to adapt to the country you are in and the food they offer. You can't expect to get exactly the same as a British hotel if you want to travel abroad.
The true test was that the restaurant was suddenly busy after 9 pm when all the Spanish came down to have their meals so they certainly enjoyed it.
There was certainly plenty of choice for both breakfast and evening meal.
Staff were great with requests for extra pillows, hangers etc and we also had a very helpful handyman who sorted out problems with our electrical adaptor.
Great location, just over the road from the beach and that wonderful esplanade.

dont do half board
12 June 2008
my partner and myself have just returned home from our holiday.10/06/2008. torre del mar is a very nice resort to go to, but beware of teh transfers cost, from malaga airport to hotel was 69 euros comming home was a little cheaper as we asked around the english bars and got a price for 50 euros. the promar spa hotel was very nice but the food was not 4 star we had half board, every day was chips chips chips no other potatoes also chichen which was tough as old boots.if you stay at the promar i would strongly advise you not to book h/board, eat out there is plenty of good bars and resterants have a nice holiday.

hotel proamar
17 May 2008
The hotel was very clean could not fault the maids.
We found that the staff were quite rude not welcoming a group of 5 girls 18-30, but then found that the whole village was not that welcoming!
We thought that the breakfast buffet was disgusting!!it was not edible!
We were shocked that the pool and sauna were closed but they said this was due to us coming out of season.
Personally i would not go back to proamar or torre del mar entirely.

short stay
09 April 2008
I have stayed at the Proamar before -this time I didn't have time to use the spa, sadly. This hotel is really excellent value - the rooms are lovely and it is easy to reach, and park at. The breakfast was not quite the quality I recall from last year - but plentiful and varied. The coffee could be better! The reception were as helpful as they could be with an adaptor problem we had. Very good food served late in the vicinity. No complaints.

As good as Spanish Hotels get !!
19 March 2008
Stayed here twice, bed & breakfast, whilst house hunting in the area. Everything you could want, but not luxury. Good location, clean, friendly staff. This resort is not for anyone seeking young nightlife, although plenty of restaurants & bars around. July and August packed with Spanish holidaymakers.

DIDN'T THINK BARGAINS EXISTED ANY MORE !!!
28 January 2008
We have just returned from a week at the Proamar, being hoteliers, our only chance for a break is in January. The hotel was lovely, very clean, in a very good spot at the end of the seafront.
There was unfortunately some noise from a pile driver being used some 3 or 4 hundred yards away where they are building several new hotels, but then it could have been worse, we could have been staying at the campsite much nearer to it !!!!
The staff were brilliant, couldln't fault them.
The only criticism. . . .as someone else has said, on the nights when it was waitress service and not buffet, the food left a lot to be desired !!! However, if I'm allowed to tell you on here, we found a wonderful Italianrestaurant, just a stones throw away from the hotel where we ate the most fantastic food on three occasions ! highly recommended. (Italia restaurante and pizzeria, Ave. Tore` tore`) turn left out of hotel and cross over at the end and next left.
To summarise, we would return, it was cheap to book the hotel through alpha and still affordable to eat out when you want.
Happy holidays and happy eating !!!

Review of 'Vincci Resort Proamar'
07 December 2006
Only stayed one night, thoroughly enjoyed it. Hoping to come back in January for a few more nights. Rooms were excellent with good sized balcony (even had a mini-bar!). Breakfast was wonderful, great choice of foods. Something to suit everybody. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel.

Review of 'VINCCI RESORT PROAMAR'
19 March 2006
If you are on a diet you can still come to this Hotel! The extensive buffet includes some diet foods. We saw people who, far from dieting, must have several stomachs inside their bodies as they returned many times to refill their plates. And no wonder, there is a huge range of delicious foods at breakfast and dinner. Sometimes the containers [always being flapped open by guests] do not keep the food piping hot, but kitchen staff quickly refill with fresh supplies.
Otherwise, the Hotel is in an ideal position near the lovely, wide and level promenade; it's immaculate, shiny, bright and comfortable. Our west facing room had a side sea view and sunshine until evening. Rooms on the east side have a pool view, but no afternoon sun. However there's a sunny roof terrace complete with sunbeds. The staff are friendly and efficient, but not obtrusive.
A previous reviewer mentioned the bar, which is part of the large reception area. We did not find this detracted from the Hotel, in fact it gave us the chance to people-watch!
This was a last minute, spur of the moment booking, with amazingly good value prices and excellent efficient service from Alpharooms. We'll certainly be returning to the Proamar!

Review of 'VINCCI RESORT PROAMAR'
25 February 2006
To avoid confusion hotel is know known as Spa Resort Proamar after changing hands and is signposted as this throughout Torre del Mar - all indications of Vincci have disappeared at the hotel.
We have stayed here at least 5 times in recent months using it as a base while house-hunting in the area. It is clean, comfortable and the staff are excellent. It is well posititoned being on the sea-front with an easy walk into town yet not in an overcrowded area.
On the downside - since the change over while breakfasts are excellent the evening diner which also used to be excellent, now unless it is a buffet service is not up to scratch and although on a half-board basis we wished we had taken bed and breakfast and eaten out locally.
A major plus, having booked through Alpha beds, we found on one visit that we needed to extend our stay and booked directly with the hotel - this cost us at least twice as much as the Alpha beds service!

Review of 'VINCCI RESORT PROAMAR'
12 February 2006
What a great hotel!
Situated at one end of the long promenade, it is easy to park, and although the outlook from the balconies inland is not special, they look out towards the sea as well and get the sun from midday right until sunset- almost new table and chairs to sit on and enjoy the lovely Spanish weather.
The third floor is non-smoking and where we stayed.
Very friendly staff, very clean, bedrooms newly furnished with extremely comfortable beds and helpful little things like a fridge for your water (or wine!), stylish furnishings- even the lifts are a pleasure to be in!, seconds to the beach, bars, and some of the best restaurants in Torre del Mar. The reception staff are pleased to speak English and help with any queries.
Is there more? Yes! Alpharooms somehow have managed to get rates that are below local BandB prices, and this great hotel is a bargain. Don't tell anybody, the prices might go up!
Worth every one of its 4 stars, this hotel is a must for people who want style, friendly staff, good food and every comfort. Congratulations to them.

Review of 'VINCCI RESORT PROAMAR'
06 February 2006
We stayed here in November 2005. Excellent Hotel at the end of the road (towards the Malaga end of the resort). Well kept, very clean and comfortable. Superb breakfast. Excellent bedroom with balcony and sea views (To all rooms as far as I could see) Easy to park. Across road to beach. No faults at all. Great value via Alpha rooms, whose service was also excellent.

Terrific stay in Torre
04 February 2006
We had a terrific stay at the Vincci Resort Proamar in February 2006. We found the staff welcoming and friendly to the extreme. The room was clean and very well presented with all the facilities you would require for either an overnight stay or a week’s holiday. The breakfast provided was excellent with a choice from cooked or continental with a buffet table covering every taste imaginable, all the breakfast staff were very attentive keeping our table clear and coffee/tea re-fills aplenty. We would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to all our friends and look forward to staying there again. Thank you all the Alpharooms staff who assisted in this reservation which was a late and last minute booking for us.

SOOOOOOO CONVENIENT
09 December 2005
THE HOTEL HAD MANY ADVANTAGES. 1. ON THE SEA FRONT 2.ALMOST ALL STAFF COULD SPEAK ENGLISH 3. ENOUGH BREAKFAST TO FILL ANY ONE PERSON FOR A FULL DAY !! 4.VERY CLEAN AND THEY ARE ALWAYS CLEANING IN THE HOTEL!! 5.THOUGH NOT 4* IN U.K TERMS, BUT STILL EXCELLENT 6.MY ONLY DOWNSIDE WAS THERE IS NO BAR/LOUNGE AREA TO RELAX.THE BAR IS IN THE FOYER AND NOT VERY PRIVATE.

Review of 'VINCCI RESORT PROAMAR'
21 September 2005
Hotel is in a very quiet position with sea views and only 50m to beach. Although billed as 4* it is really only a 3*. Rooms are comfortable and kept reasonably clean. Nice balcony but only two plastic chairs and small plastic table. Bathrooms are fine with lashings of hot water all day and night. Breakfast buffet is fine with loads of choice and is open till 11 so a large late breakfast served as brunch! Staff helpful and reception staff spoke good English. Would stay again and great value via Alpharooms.
