Was expecting a great holiday here after reading really good reviews. HOWEVER the hotel apartments are really nice and we can't fault them but we found the food to be boring and pretty much the same thing every night, just got sick of it. The staff are not friendly and the smallest of things seemed like such a big effort for them. As for the entertainment, BORING BORING BORING would rather of sat in the apartment and watched tele. Overall nice hotel just dont eat, ask for anything from staff or stay for any entertainment unless your 85yrs old and over. Also the hotel forget to mention that if you speak to the doctor you will be charged 90 euros.

We have just returned from a holiday at the Prinsotel La Dorada and had a great time. The hotel is modern, clean and well maintained and the rooms are of a high standard. We have a 5 and 3 year old and they both loved the kids club which had games and activities during the day as well as a disco at 8.30pm every evening. This is followed by further entertainment such as magic shows, parrot shows, mamma mia etc. which is good fun for all. The pool is lovely with plenty of large shallow areas for the little ones. I would recommend that you went half board as we did not and there is only a handful of restaurants within walking distance to the hotel. We ate at the hotel a couple of times and the food was good with masses of choice and seperate kids food too. The apartment / room was spacious and the bathroom had a shower over bath plus a seperate shower unit which was a real bonus when getting ready for dinner in the evenings. Another bonus was sky TV which showed Cbeebies and CBBC which anyone with kids will be grateful for. All in all, a great holiday and would definately go there again.

Fantastic hotel especially for young children, very clean, staff service excellent. The pool area is the best I have ever seen. Couldn't fault the hotel - area it is in is not so nice though.
Overlooks a swamp and power station at the back with a lot of mosquitos, I would request a room facing the pool area. A few local bars and restaurants but all along the side of busy main road.

An excellent hotel, especially if you are a 'nice' family with young kids...the pool is first class...kids mini disco was superb...great supportive atmosphere around the hotel.
The hotel is as good as many of the famous hotels we've stayed at around the world.

classy hotel with fantastic amenities, choice of pools with excellent toddlers pool (very safe), great kids club with plenty staff and lots of activities, play area for kids with swings n slides, nightly entertainment. Rooms were modern, Cbbc a godsend as weather in early june was not great. Overall would reccomend highly. Only niggle would be choice of local quality restaurants not great (though sloppo guesepi is fantastic and one of the best in Alcudia), and alcudia main strip a short bus ride away with plenty of good restaurants. All in all, thoroughly recomend for families with young kids.

This is our first time in Mallorca so we booked the hotel based on other reviews.
The hotel lived up to expectations, the staff are very friendly and the room was very clean and well though out. For the kids there were disney movies on for free on the TV so they could relax after a day in the pool before dinner.
The food is fantastic, we booked half board and never needed lunch.
Alot of choice expecially fish and vegetarian options.
There are six pools, one for each age group and an in door one if the weather is not too good.
The childrens entertainment was great fun with a Mini Disco from 8.30 til 9.00 everynight.
I would suggest a car as there is not much to do around the hotel apart from a wonderful beach.
The only thing that you need to be aware of is that the hotel is next to the nature reserve so take plenty of mosquito repellant.
Overall a very nice and respectable hotel.

Safe bet for a great hotel & beach holiday!
04 June 2008
As always we were not sure what to expect with the Prinsotel La Dorada. I can honestly say we were pleasantly surprised from the moment we arrived. We stayed on a board only basis and the standard of accomodation was excellent and recently furnished. Spacious, comfortable and perfectly well equipped for the whole family - of particulat help on rainy days was the large flat screen TV with endless supply of kids movies! We can not really think of anything that we would complain about at this hotel, the pools were great and the grounds constantly being cleaned and maintained. Rooms were cleaned every day and left spotless. The staff were all very helpful and friendly. All in all a great place to stay with the family and highlyrecommend. Great service from Alpharooms also with no problems at all. My only issue during our holiday was the mosquitos which were ravenous so you need to prepare for this however no reflection on the hotel.

Just back from a 4 day stop in the La Dorado, was highly impressed with this hotel and the area. Reception staff were very helpfull on checkin, Rooms were the best i have stayed in majorca and spotless clean, everything you could need is included with these rooms. Outdoor pools supervised by lifeguard from early morning till approx 6pm. didnt eat in the restaurant but had a look and the food varity was impressive. The beach is close by about 100yds from main door - across a main road, but plenty of pedestrian crossings. plenty of restaurants in the vicinity and alcudia port is only 2.5 miles away which is well worth a visit. this area is great for cycling professionally or for recreation. would return to this hotel but would do half board for a few days. only negative was entertainment in the evening but for mid may i would accept it.

This is one of the nicest places I have ever been, absolutely fabulous and safe for small kids, pools were fantastic and children's entertainment brilliant. Food was lovely and staff were so helpful and friendly. This is a very classy hotel and you feel so comfortable with small children. We will definitely be going back next year. Resort itself quiet but nice just exactly what we were looking for.

Review of 'PRINSOTEL LA DORADA'
12 April 2007
This is a good quality, very clean and very well maintained establishment, highly recommended for families with young children but I would not recommend it for couples looking for a quiet break or those with teenage kids. Best features - swimming pools and outdoor bar area are huge and great, buffet style food is good (massive choice, kids and adults catered for), evening entertainment is fun (kids mini disco followed by something for adults), staff are very friendly and welcoming. Negatives - location is not great (although it is right opposite a good beach the local area is a bit rough and not really within walking distance of anywhere), can't think of any other negatives - it's a really nice place!

Review of 'PRINSOTEL LA DORADA'
26 September 2005
We would not have given 5/5 had we bought our 2 weeks as a "package" with a brochure firm. However the savings we made by booking direct made this very worthwhile.
Because it is near the end of the season, there were often queues for drinks with only 1 person serving but overall very acceptable and pleasant levels of service.
If, like us, you considered this hotel because you enjoy birdwatching, this must have the best location in Majorca for the nature reserve - it is not the closest to the entrance but the back rooms allow views out over the reedbeds and lagoons - on our first morning we looked out to see 5 flamingos and an osprey.
If you want an excellent value independent deal, book with Alpharooms or similar and have a great time. Do not expect Palma 6* standards or top flight luxury but be realistic and it will not dissapoint.
Germans etc did outnumber Brits by about 4 to 1 and the meals did tend to reflect this but with a largish buffet there will usually be something to tempt. Generally no queues except at breakfast but again this may be due to reduced staffing levels at end of season.
We would not go in the height of the school hols though as we feel that it would be just too hectic with testosterone charged gangs of 13 to 15 year olds running around but it is a family style hotel and that is par for the course.
Can't wait to go back - maybe in April for the spring birdwatching

Review of HOTEL MARITIMO - Alcudia
05 August 2005
Well what can we say - Alpha Rooms saves us a fortune compared to other guests who were there and booked via the traditional package route. Hotel was fantastic - superb rooms, immaculately clean, friendly staff, decent food, nice pool area and great sunshine. We really cannot recommend this place enough. Some people moan about the main road but it is no busier than any road in England so don't let it ruin your holiday! We booked this as part of a 'do it yourself' package and £1400 for four of us for 10 days half board was an absolute bargain. I suppose one possible negative is that you have to share a table in the restaurant if you are in a couple - we were in a four so there was no problem. Brilliant Holiday - brilliant service - well recommended.

Review of 'PRINSOTEL LA DORADA'
25 July 2005
We have just come back from the Prinsotel La Dorada July 05. The hotel has a great pool area the water is walm and it has lots of water levels great for younger children my youngest is three and he loved it. The hotel tried to move us on arrival as they were over booked they offered us three other hotels with compensation they were fine when we just wanted to stay put. There are loads of sunbeds round the pool area and they have a no reserving a bed rule. HOWEVER!!!! there did not seem to be anyone brave enough to put the rule in to place by seven in the morning nearly all the beds had towels. I refuse to do this so we went to the beach first then back to the pool around four by then there were free beds. Our room was very clean and the kitchen area adequate, the walls however must be very thin you can hear the talking in next room. We never ate in the hotel so can not comment on the food. It is very popular hotel with many German, spanish and French guests we only saw one other English family. The local beach was fine, and just a short walk away overall an great holiday it is quite a way to the main town area we had a car so this was no problem for us. We like a very quiet holiday so it was great for us but if you want night life and clubs etc this is not the place for you. Definitely a family place.

Review of 'PRINSOTEL LA DORADA'
01 June 2005
I came here with a large party in july 2004. Our stay here was excellent!! The pools were brilliant and the area around them was spottless. I also thought it was good how it had a small gym, indoor pool and sauna. The staff here were very friendly and there entertainment was rather good. We were self catering so didn't stay for our meals here, though they did smell nice. The rooms were good, as they were quite big. The towels were also changed daily if you left them in the bath. The only negative point i have to say is that you could here the table's and chairs getting pulled allong the floor above you. Apart from this We had a brilliant stay and are hoping to go back in 2006

Review of 'PRINSOTEL LA DORADA'
30 March 2005
The apartment rooms are a bit shabby around the edges, i.e. marks on the furniture and walls and hairdryer broken. It was also very noisy, we could hear everyone walking above us and in communial areas and lots of noise from rooms next door. The facilities were good, very small gym (5 pieces of equipment), sauna often locked. Indoor pool excellent and no one used it much apart from us, we nearly always had it to ourselves. That might have been because the hotel was full of German cycling clubs, who went on their version of the tour de mallorca each day. Good kids play area and excellent multi lingual childrens play leader. restaurant food was a buffet, breakfast excellent, dinner very germanic, and quality very average, OK if you like a lot to eat and don't care about the standard. Too cold to use outdoor pools, but they looked good.
