Lovely hotel. Two minute walk from leidseplein which has loads of bars and coffee shops, some nights we didnt bother to go into dam square just stayed around here. Casino holland is a huge casino a 2 or 3 minute walk from the hotel. You can get a tram from leidseplein to dam square but it is also a short walk so the tram is not necessary. The hotel itself was very clean, room was cleaned everyday. Rooms are small but perfect for the four days we stayed. Free safe in the room was great! The staff were absolutely lovely, we were made feel at home from the second we walked in and they were more than happy to suggest places to go and how to get there. Would definately stay again, overall a really nice hotel in a fantastic spot and at a great price. Cant go wrong!

We arrived at 09.00 but the receptionist looked for an available room and let us book in, if not we could have left our luggage anyway, hotel room was small but sufficient for our purposes , room was very clean and had a free safe in the room, staff were very friendly, hotel was about 5 mins walk from leidesplein a small popular square with bars and restaraunts, taxi fare from airport was 40 euros but if you caught the train and tried to walk it would take about 30-45 minutes although you could take a tram if you could work out where you were going. overall hotel was good value for money.

Review of 'PRINSEN'

We really enjoyed staying at this hotel. So easy to find once you come off the tram. The hotel was really clean, bed was so so very comfy. The staff were really nice. We enjoyed the breakfasts. Although the room was quite small, it was ok for us for the 4 nights we stayed there. We will go back to hotel again as it is really central and we know that it's clean.

the Hotel Prinsen is idealy located just a 3 min walk from the Tram stops which take you directely to Central station. The hotel is located in a quiet street very close to Leidesplien. The staff are friendly and helpful whith reception being open 24 hours per day. The room we had was small but clean and comfrortable. Our only 'Gripe' was that the sound proofing between rooms isn't that good! How ever this didnt disturb our sleep. It would have been nice to have tea and coffee making facilites in the room. Drinks are available at the bar 24 hours. Ther is a lift to all the floors in the hotel which is a factor that has to be considered in Amsterdam hotels. We will definately be using the 'Prinsen' again. " Dont forget to give the hotel cat a stroke'

Review of 'PRINSEN' Amsterdam
02 January 2007
Close access to Amsterdam which was convenient to get to sites. Hotel staff very friendly and helpful so no problem checking in or out. Room was smaller than expected due to 'down grade' from twin room to double room on arrival due to hotel being fully booked. Room was clean and tidy with washhing and bathroom facilities again small but adequate. Breakfast was continental buffet style with a good variety of food and drinks. The breakfast area got full quickly because everyone seemed to have the same idea of what time to eat. This caused a bit of a queue waiting for a seat. But again staff did their best to help. The bar in the hotel was only open until 11pm, which was suprising although the night porter was able to provide drinks to take to the room. Overall, the hotel was adequate for a weekend stay but because of the small room size a longer stay would have been a problem. Because of this we probably would not use the hotel should we return to Amsterdam in the future unless we were guaranteed a larger room. However, we had no problem with the general facilities or the standard of the hotel.

Found the hotel clean and efficient, thought the area was perfect for the seasoned traveller who wants peace and quiet but not too far from the hustle and bustle when looking for it.Would go again.Breakfasts were very good.

Review of 'PRINSEN'

Comfortable, good value for money hotel situated close to the major Museums and Galleries and the Vondelpark. We had a quiet room at the back looking on to the basement garden. The staff were all pleasant, helpful and laidback and although there were no coffee making facilities in the room they were happy to provide free coffee and biscuits in the dining area throughout the day and early evening. Rooms have a safe deposit box for which you don't have to pay extra. The breakfast buffet was a fairly typical collation of cold meats and cheeses but the coffee and fruit juice were good and breakfast ran from 07:00 - 10:00 with the buffet being topped up. The hotel has a nice pet cat called Bonnie who has free reign in the dining room and garden which might put some people off but we rather liked her. The hotel is easy to get to by tram from the Central Station - just get off at the Leidesplein and its only five minutes walk. There are at least three or four good restaurants and bars within ten minutes walk of the hotel.
