Nice hotel !!
30 June 2008
Lovely and clean hotel ... rooms very well maintained, nice little kitchen with microwave, toaster etc.. Bathroom good size with hairdryer, rooms cleaned every day, with clean towels !!!. Only down side is the pool a little small and the bar closes at 4pm !!!! which is a right shame, as when you come back from the lovely beach you just wanna chill and ahve a few beers by the pool. Also not open in the evening ....so no meeting piont... apart from that .. defo would go back again as value for money..

Only read if you're going when we're not!

We went for a three day break to celebrate my 50th although rather pleasing to see a UK hen party there too! Incredible value given the location/views and do stay in a one bed appt would be our recommendation. The sun terrace was magnificent, although like the [heated] pool could be larger, facing due South with great views along the coast. Very clean, serviced every day, good range of equipment in kitchen inc fridge/hob, TV with CNN and air con/heating + plenty of towels/soap in the shower room. A very short [level] stroll to huge number of bars/restaurants/shope etc. We ate lunch at the roof cafe - freshly cooked and good value- shame it closed at 4pm though as a beer at sunset meant moving out of the hotel [lazy, me?!]. Downsides? None really, although c50 mins drive from Malaga airport, not too easy [for us oldies at least] to find and a tad surprised at no hotel bar [am I drink obsessed?], while the underground car park costs £10/day. Minor moans over, one highlight not mentioned elsewhere is that there are a couple of shower rooms near the lobby for late departures like us, although check out is a generous 12.00. Like other reviewers, we loved it too and are returning in early July so if we have tempted you to go, fantastic, but please don't book before us!

Went away with my friend (late Oct 07) - great hotel what a fantastic position. Very friendly staff and nice and clean. Pool nice although small and the rooftop terrace great to relax in the sun. The cafe area seemed very quiet when we were there but lovely views over the bay. The room we were in was small but very clean ,on the side of the hotel so the view was not over the bay would aim for front sea view next time. Location could not be better - beach outside your door and right in the centre of Marbella close to shops, old town, bars and restaurants. We went only for a few days but loved it and would stay here again hopefully will come here with the family.

Review of 'PRINCESA PLAYA'

Stayed first week in Oct. View wasnt bad, corner room with slight sea view. Staff very nice, food excellent. The rooms are comfy with basics, ie microwave hob. None of the rooms have baths only showers, but this was very roomy. Hotel nice and clean. The pool was quite small but clean, and the roof terrace was a really nice quiet place to sit in the sun. The hotel was on the promenade facing directly over the beach, and next to the marina, where there are excellent restaurants and bars to eat at in the evening.
The only bad point was the noise levels. The walls are so thin we could hear everything next door even when they were talking normally. Not too much of a problem as we went out of season and it was fairly quiet but would not want to be there at the height of the season.

Stayed Sept 2007 - on the seafront, near to the Old Town - easy walk to Orange Square and loads of shops - very friendly staff - pool is on roof and is smallish but v. pleasant with nice sun-bathing area around it - fantastic view to front but rooms at back have no view or one not to bother with!
Bedrooms are fine with basic cooking facilities and air-con. Good value .
Parking if you need it is in an independant public underground park beneath the hotel but is the worst run I've been in !
Location/cleanliness/friendliness = reccommended !

Review of 'PRINCESA PLAYA'

We stayed in this hotel from 5th-8th May 2005. On arrival we were delighted to discover the hotel was on the promenade facing directly over the beach.
Once we got to our room (a one bedroom apt on 6th Floor)I walked to the balcony and was greeted by a view across the meditterean, a look left or right showed the marina and views along the beach.
The rooms were clean, well kitted out if perhaps a little basic. A short walk took you to the centre of the promenade and nightlife and access to the old town of marbella.
Staff in the hotel were courteous and helpful when required. We didn't eat in the hotel at any point, chosing to each at one of the many beach front cafe's etc so I can't comment on the quality of the food.
