Edinburgh Moonwalk
21 June 2008
Hotel was fantastic, just what you need after doing the moonwalk at night. We stayed 3 nights. The beds were so comfortable, staff were really friendly and breakfast was amazing - big selection and they even serve porridge which is great after the power walk or if you are just cold!
Our flight was delayed coming in so i telephoned Alpha rooms as were were due to arive after 11pm so i was concerned that we would be too late to check - aplha rooms were amazing and confirmed we would still be able to check in that late.
We were even able to keep our bags (securly) there on the monday whilst we wnet shopping as we had a late flight home. A fantastic place to stay and not far to walk to town centre or food. Will book and stay again.

Best Hotel
27 April 2008
This hotel is brilliant,we have just returned from a four night stay and I cannot praise the hotel enough. Our room was one of the largest we have stayed in with a full size bathroom and fresh towels every day, comfy beds and pillows and very clean. The hotel is about a ten minute walk away from Princess street and we were very pleased it was, only alot of road works are going on near the centre of Edinburgh as trams are planned for 2011.The staff at the hotel were very helpful and efficient and always had a smile. We booked with alpharooms and this included breakfast which was eat as much as you like and all food was tasty, we also used the restaurant in the evening which was very good value and a good choice of menu.If returning to Edinburgh we would definately stay here again and book with alpharooms.

We spent a long weekend(Fri-Mon),and were much impressed.Able to leave our car in secure parking, and travel by convenient public transport to anywhere in the city. This is a well organised and well run hotel. The staff are efficient and friendly at the same time, which is no mean achievement.Food is good-we ate dinner in one night, and were pleasantly surprised by the quality, much better than the 'Pub-Grub" we had expected. The only down side was that in a hotel which professes to be 100% non-smoking, we had a room which smelt strongly of stale tobacco smoke.

I thought this hotel was fantastic. I booked for the '08 Hogmanay and we had a brilliant time. The hotel is on the main route for the Airlink bus from the airport, so the cost to get to and from the hotel was only £5 return. The hotel is only a 10 minute walk from the main city centre so there is no need to get taxis. We arrived too early to check in, but we were able to store our bags which was really useful. The hotel is really modern, there is a really nice reception and bar area, the rooms are lovely and clean and there are signs in all the corridors asking people to be quiet which I though was a very good idea and mean't that generally the hotel was very quiet. There is also excellent security as you cannot use the lifts or stairs without your room card. All in all a brilliant hotel, would definitely recommend it and if I go back to Edinburgh again, I intend to book this hotel.

Great hotel
24 November 2007
I stayed here with my boyfriend for 3 nights. It was a brilliant hotel, had everything we needed and was very reasonably priced and clean. The hotel was around a 3 mile walk to themain shopping area and to different pub streets. Was very easy to get to by car and want far from train station. I would definately stay here again.

Better than I expected
17 November 2007
I stayed here for a long weekend in a single room (which was actually a double bed with a single bed). I was with a group of friends who all had the same type of room. My lasting memory will be the staff in the hotel, who really couldn't have done more to be helpful and friendly as well as professional. They all seemed to enjoy their work and it showed in their attitude towards us. We ate meals in the hotel quite a few times, and they were excellent, and the prices reasonable. They have a 'specials' board, which if different every day, and one of our group wanted a meal that he'd had once but it wasn't available the second time - not a problem, the chef made it for him anyway! The hotel is about 15 minutes walk from the castle, and about 5 - 10 minutes from the beginning of Princes Street (for shopping). The staff gave us a map and advised us of the best route to take. They were so good, I really can't say enough compliments! We had a great weekend.
