My Girlfriend and I stayed at the Plaza between the 7th and 15th of October 2008 and we do not believe the 3 star rating is justified.
We found the staff very friendly and generally willing to help also there is a good atmosphere around the bar, but other than that there is not much else to compliment this hotel.
We noticed that a small burn mark on one of the sheets and we had the same sheets after 5 days, I had to ask for the bedding to be changed. Some towels had holes in them and burn marks, the shower cubicle are small and there was no television in the rooms. Air conditioning is extra.
The situation by the bus stop and taxi rank gives some disturbance but worst was the road and pavement sweepers starting around 6.30a.m. going round and round the plaza revving up and reversing with their reversing bleepers on, it was like sleeping next to a truck stop.
The breakfast is the same every morning and the choice is very limited, food look warm at best, evening meal is of a very low standard and if you are a vegetarian forget it. After a couple of days we ate out although we had payed for half board.
I stay in hotels every working week and also when on holiday, we will not be returning.
