Great Hotel
21 November 2007
Just returned from a 4 day break at the playasol.
Very comfortable rooms
stayed half board, the breakfast buffet in the morning was full of variation topped with a chef who cooked fresh omelets to choice.
Evening meal was the best with exellent table service, and also a fresh selection of meats and fish cooked to choice.
Bar staff very friendly inparticular Elias who entertained the the 4 of us.
Reception can be slow but i put that down to of peak season and a reduction in staff.
I highly reccomend and good value for money.

Still great after 5 years
08 May 2006
We both visited the Playasol in 2001 (September)and really enjoyed it then. Our visit this time was in early May. It hasn't really changed much. The Hotel is what you'd expect from a 4* I suppose, decent room size with bathroom.
Where we felt it excelled was in the pool side facilities with a large pool outdoor with slides for the kids, a heated indoor pool is also on site but only opens in the "winter season" which is to the end of May, I think. There is table tennis, crazy golf, giant chess, kiddies play area etc. A good touch was the countless palm trees surrounding the pool allowing you to stay in the shade or soak up the rays. Another nice touch is a free supply of pool towels every day, just leave the wets ones at reception each day and pick up dry ones.
Food varied from the usual stuff kept warm under the lamps but they have a great grill area with a chef!! cooking at least 5 different meats/fish each night fresh. Excellent idea. Full English brekkie was also cooked on these grills. Something they dont really advertise but I think they should is that your dining room card can be used in any of the resorts 5 hotels. The food is basically similar in each but the Playa Caprichio and Playa Luna were better laid out and more relaxed.
Staff were all very helpful and although about 90 % of guests were German or Spanish most staff had enough English to help if needed.
Entertainment in the hotel was varied each night, Quiz, Bingo, the usual music etc.
The resort is quiet in early May and it definitely caters more for Spanish/German visitors. I counted only about 5 or 6 English pubs, none of which were anything to write home about although we had our best crack in "The Miners Arms"

We stayed here in Jan 2005 for a few days, most of the staff were very friendly and spoke fairly good English. The rooms were clean and tidy, the food was very good but they tend to cater more for the German guests than the English. My only complaint is that there are no facilities in the rooms for making drinks so after the bars close you have had it unless you have bought some bottled water or the like, there are also no machines for getting drinks in the hotel, and the night porter will not get you a drink either. Apart from that, this is a very nice hotel which i would go back to.

Very pleasant surroundings near to all facilitys. Friendly staff, and fantastic accomodation.
Food is top quality
try to avoid between October and march if you are as we are 40's high volume pensioners on long term deals who thought they had the right to special attention.
Very enjoyable stay in nice surroundings with more than 3 star accomodation ( value for money)

Review of 'PLAYASOL'
22 March 2005
This is a fantastic hotel, we have stayed there many times, and have been visiting Roquetas now for 20+ years, and one day hope to live there!! We have stayed in several hotels and self catering units in the area but the Playasol is far the best. The staff are very friendly the amenities and entertainment are very good, the bedrooms are furnished to a very high standard and the food variable, the restaurant has its own chef who cooks fresh bacon and eggs etc in the morning and chops, burgeres.sausage.fresh fish etc.... in the evenings, plus a very nice lady that will cook pancakes fresh for your desert YUMMY. The hotel is located very central of the resort and is a stones throw from the beach. If you get a chance for an upgrade the 7th floor is fantastic with large in room baths and many more extras, they will take your breath away. If you are traveling independantly why not book into the beach front apartments with all mod cons and their own roof top pool, a must for a couple of days at least, we spent our Silver Wedding in one for a whole 3 weeks sheer luxury. Happy Holidays have been spent at the hotel with many more to come we hope. We feel this hotel is a 4* +
