Playa Pocillos Apartments Reviews

We have stayed in Playa Pocillos Apts many times over the last 6 years. This is the first time I have found the standards dropping. Booked a ground floor Apt 3 months in advance and got an upstairs apartment. New people working at reception, service was poor. Might be under new management or something. Less cleaners about, and bar now closes at 5pm. Some other small issues not worth mentioning but they all add up to make Playa Pocillos Apartments much less enjoyable.

wE ARRIVED PRE-NOON BUT HAD NO PROBLEM CHECKING IN.OUR BOOKING REQUEST FOR GROUND FLOOR ACCOMODATION HAD BEEN HEEDED BUT WE FOUND THE APARTMENT A LITTLE"TUCKED-AWAY"BACK TO RECEPTION AND NO PROBLEM WERE GIVEN EXACTLY WHAT WE WANTED.pLACE SPOTLESS AND ALL NECESSITIES PROVIDED FOR.MODERN,CLEAN COOKER,FRIDGE,COFFEE-MAKER,KETTLE,TOASTER.ALSO DISH-CLOTHS AND TEA TOWELS PROVIDED DAILY.MAID SERVICE EXCELLENT WITH NICE TOUCHES TO BED MAKING!BATHROOM CLEAN AND MODERN;BEDS COMFORTABLE.FREE SKY NEWS IN ENGLISH.VERY ATTENTIVE AND HELPFUL STAFF.GOOD POOL BAR/SNACK BAR. (THIS CLOSED AT 1700 WHICH WE LIKED!!) VERY DIFFICULT TO FAULT.WILL DEFINATELY BE BACK

This is our second time staying here, and both times we found the apartment clean and well equiped. The staff are friendly and helpful. The apartments are near the airport and you can hear some planes taking off, although we got used to the noise after the first day. The town is about 25 minutes walk away, but a lovely walk along the beach. There is a small shopping centre about 5 minutes walk which has most things. We would definitely stay here again.

The apartments have everything you need, kettle, toaster, microwave etc. and are kept clean, with regular clean towels etc. However, you do get noise from the airport but only through the day. Nice quiet area and not too far from a beach and shops.

great staff,very friendly. Apartment lovely,cleaned every day. Everything was very satisfactory, would go there again.

Service was excellent, rooms clean, great sunshine on balcony. Breakfast great value, all bar food excellent value for money. Quiet resort but within walking distance of night life and the beach and shops if you wanted it.

I found the staff very helpful; food good in the bar. The walk back from the shopping area I found very quite and lonely in the evenings. The aeroplanes were a wake up call at 7 o'clock in the mornings; apartments on the flight path in to and out of Lanzarote.

We have just got back from two weeks at Playa pocillos. The location is great, close to taxi rank for airport and town and a short walk to the beach and the main square. The apartment was cleaned 5 days out of 7 with new towels and floor mopped, toilet cleaned and beds made. general dusting and cleaning of sink area etc was not done in the whole two weeks. food available from pool bar is nice enough for through the day. I did eat from the pool bar and Though i did end up at the drs with food poisoning i cant confirm it was picked up from there. There wasnt always room around the pool to get a sunbed as people did get up very early to put towels on but this happens everywhere you go. The main problem we had was tthat the rooms were not air conditioned and some nights it was impossible to sleep. some spanish guests resorted to sleeping outside. The comfort of the beds did not help..being that there was no comfort. You can rent a fan for 12euro a week which we did. After they found us one it was dirty and broken. we only used it once as it jus constantly squeeked. Having no sleep then has an impact on the rest of your holiday. the other thing was the bath/shower was old shabby stained n grout falling off, the shower curtain stuck to you. This could be vastly improved just by putting in a new bath or cleaning and re grouting and a plastic/glass shower door added. If you just want somewhere cheaper to stay with no comfort then this place is fine. If you want a relax and good nights sleep i would reccomend somewhere else.

Just back from a week there....absolutely perfect.Super clean ,very friendly family orientated,everything you need at your fingertips.

Nice clean apts , Beds made and clean towels left by the maid every day. could do with a little updating , but no major issues, Many items like wi-fi you have to pay extra for.

Second time staying at Playa Pocillos.The complex is nice and quiet the perfect choice for a relaxing break away from the bustle of Puerto del Carmen but close enough to shops bars restaurants and beach in Matagorda.Apartments are basic but very clean cant fault the staff , had a most pleasant stay.

Great little complex & good size apartments with one bedroom. Whole area is spotless and rooms cleaned five times weekly. We have just returned from three weeks & will return next year. Best balconies are on first floor if you want privacy. Food in restuarant is excellent value Nine euros for two curries take your own plates. Also staff friendly. Only downside was receptionist would not print my boarding pass for me. Also when Spanish kids were there they were so so noisy but it is their country. Would recommend to anyone & also near airport & taxi costs eight euros & takes six minutes.

This was our second time staying at Playa Pocillos... and again it didn't let us down... they have started renovating the apartments so that's good... have to say tho that if you are looking for frills this is not the place to go but then that is reflected in the price and there is nothing wrong with the accommodation... staff mostly pleasant and helpful when required... if I have one complaint to make it would only be that there was a mish mash of crockery and utensils... there were no egg cups or cereal bowls... but other than that we couldn't complain about it... we are planning to go there again and maybe will pack egg cups and cereal bowls next time lol..... great value for money.......

The apartments complex was small and friendly with really good facilities, the room was excellent and cleaned everyday,would certainly use these apartments again.

We arrived a day late but found apartment still to be available. Had stayed here before and found the apartment and furniture generally to be a little "tired", but this time we were pleasantly surprised to find that the apartments had been refurbished and although still basic accomodation they wete really good value for money! Apartments in quiet part of Matagorda but within walking distance of the livelier resort of Puerto del Carmen best of both worlds! Pool clean and well kept , reception and cafeteria of a reasonable standard. Would certainly go back again!

We stayed here from 6th-10th March and were really happy with this accommodation. The receptionist, upon arrival, was really friendly and helpful. Our apartment was clean and tidy and quite spacious. We read some worrying reviews about these apartments but can honestly say we were more than happy with them. You have to remember these are 2 star apartments not 5 star!!! You get what you pay for and as a base and somewhere to put your head down they accommodate perfectly. With it being March, the pool was really quite cold, but hey...it's not the height of the season so expect it! The food at the pool bar was really good and cheap as was the drink (unless you are drinking spirits...4.50 for a vodka coke) We have already booked these apartments for a summer family holiday and have requested the same apartment. Only downside is the cats but we've stayed in Lanzarote 7 times now and no matter where we've stayed there have been cats...part of the furniture I think, however, you are advised not to feed them. There is also quite a bit of noise from the airport but you do get used to it, it certainly never bothered us.

We stayed for 2weeks in July 2010.Couldn't fault the appartments,absolutely perfect for families.Reception very helpful and food and drink available at a reasonable price ,Overall a very enjoyable stay
