The Piolets hotel is situated in the centre of the tourist area of Soldeu, where shopping areas can be found in the vicinity, offering boutiques, shops, bars and restaurants. The Grandvalira skiing area, with a ski lift, can also be found nearby. Public transport stops are located just 100 m away, making getting around easy and convenient. This centrally located hotel comprises a total of 118 spacious and comfortable double rooms, equipped with a mini-bar, safe, telephone, satellite television, tasteful decor and a fully equipped bathroom. The Piolets Hotel caters for its younger guests with a range of facilities, including a kids' club and playground, while business guests can make use of the conference room and public Internet terminal. All guests alike can indulge in some delicious cuisine at the hotel restaurant, with highchairs for infants, and enjoy some fun in the games room. Good clean hotel, small but comfortable rooms with very good adjustable heating - ask for slopeside view as streetside are noisy especially with bars below. Hotel is popular with families and a lot of noise in the corridors outside rooms from early on. Food average as expected from buffet style, but with good choice, cold and hot breakfasts. Small pool, gym, sauna, jacuzzi (popular with kids even though supposedly only open to over 14s) and steam room. Best feature is location to gondola and chair lift - not quite ski-in/out but close enough. Not quite the calm and chic of the Himalaiya hotel across the road where have stayed twice before, but adequate nevertheless.
