5 go mad in Bonka!
22 August 2008
We had fun in the sun, it was a great holiday. staff extremely friendly and know who we all were, must mention Alex, Manuel, Santeago and all of the other pool bar staff, they knew what we were drinking before we got to the bar. Excellent service. Just like your local. Location couldn't have been better, right in the heart of the action. Rooms cleaned and fresh towels daily, air con which actually worked! Shower head didn't work but was replaced immediately. We would highly recommend this hotel. It should be a 5* not 2*

This is a great hotel, staff extremely friendly, they know all of the hotel guests by name and face. You don't even have to tell Alexander the night manager what room you are in. We would go again and highly recommend this hotel. Can't believe that this is only a 2 *. the service is 5*. The pool is clean and the rooms are cleaned daily with fresh towels and bedding. Stayed mid August 08.

24 July 2008
stayed there 10 to 17 july great little hotel. very clean, excellent staff, why is it only 2 star? Because of its location we expected a lot of street noise,so we asked for a quiet room overlooking the pool, and thats exactly what we got! the only problem we found was the sound insulation between the rooms.we have already recommeded it to friends

what a good little hotel, we stayed 10th to the 17th july after reading mostly good reviews of the place. the staff were very helpful and polite, the breakfasts were good. the rooms, and the whole of the hotel were very clean. we asked for a quiet room overlooking the pool, and thats exactly what we got. the only small problem we found was the lack of sound insulation between the rooms. we will recommend this hotel to all our friends

Don't Stay Here!!
02 July 2008
The hotel itself was quite nice and very clean, however our holiday was ruined by the number of large group bookings. These guests were noisy throughout the nights. Unfortunately they were not much better behaved throughout the day time and you get get little peace around the pool area as the large majority of them were drunk and very disorderly. I would only recommend this hotel for stag or hen parties.

simply...the best!!
30 June 2008
Myself and daughter have just come back from a last minute stay at the Perla. We have stayed in Benidorm many times and this hotel is the best base we have had by far!! The staff went out of their way to help you, breakfast was lovely. Although we had a room facing the Red Dog pub, noise was very limited after midnight when they closed all the windows. Rooms were clean on arrival and cleaned with fresh towels every day of our 7 night break. Safe deposit box is 2 euros a night with a 3 euro deposit which you get back, also TV is a 10 euro deposit on return of the remote control, 2 news channels and true movies 1 and 2( the kind of afternoon films we get on channel 5)...free air con (boy was that needed!) The only downside was the pool area had limited beds...but who cares when the beach is a one minute walk away!!! :-) Location is great, everything right on your doorstep...a must is the Yorshire Pride bar, the food was delicious (especially the sunday roast!) I had a sirloin steak one evening and the plate was huge!! :-) Euro a pint for the local beer so cant be bad. We sampled the nightlife in "the square" cafe benidorm, chaplins etc, had a great night and before we knew it, it was 7am good job it was in staggering distance!! Also Red Dog pub is a great place to go. Went into a couple of family bars with kareoke such as churchills...all in all top holiday...much so i'm booking up to go back to the perla in semptember with my best mate for her birthday...i'll never stay anywhere but the Perla again :-)

Myself and 2 friends stayed at the Perla for 4 nights 12th June, very impressed, very clean room with towels changed every day, very helpful friendly staff. fantastic location but ask for pool view as there is a 24hour bar opp front of hotel. This did not put us off as we will definately book the Perla again especially as it was good value for money.

V Good
18 June 2008
Was here 4/6 - 8/6, just a quick break wi a mate & booked through Alpha Rooms. Id do that again & the arranged shuttle bus is well worth the £11 each way. Airport is about 1 - 1/2 hour away depending on traffic/drop offs etc.
**Hotel G8. Def should be more than a 2*
**Staff friendly, approachable
**Never made it to breakfast so cant comment
**Pubs all over, for main ones go right when coming out of hotel.
**Literally 2 mins from Levante Beach !!
**Yorkshire Pride v good for breakfasts of various sizes.
**Opposite the Yorks Pride is Jumping Jacks. San miguel is really cheap there !!
**Hotel is very strict on noise policy so dont even whistle in the corridors late at night or they`ll have a word, albeit a nice one ! But prob because of that Id consider going here alone.
**They also have 24hr reception etc.
** Was a very mixed group staying here, but I like that !
**Towels & maid came every day.
**Nice pool area, clean, safe. Can be difficult to get sunbed tho, I watched 3 ( in their 40s & english !!) people put towels on & only spent 1 hour there all DAY !!
**Had a partial seaview & didnt have to pay
**Brilliant showers & bath :-)
=======DOWN SIDE===========
** They wanted 30 euro to keep the room !
**Room wasnt ready on arrival but easily sorted, they offered a swap bit we had the best room going so went exploring whilst it was cleaned.

perla! tops in Benidorm
22 May 2008
This is not the 1st time i've written about Perla. We only stay there in Benidorm! Did ask for corner room, and although we were given what i'd asked for, it was wrong corner room and workmen were there early in morning, doing improvements to hotel. will know in future which corner to ask for!!. Felt the breakfasts were improved ,the bacon was really good. Rooms were so clean, hotel staff friendly, and position central. Not kept awake by any noise outside- more likely from inside our room!! Only kidding. Love the place.

pleasant hotel.
basic but clean facilities.
good staff interaction.
cleaning daily plus towel change.
close to ALL amenities - not good if you don't want to be in the thick of entertainment - party party party in the area.
only downside is that there is no car park facility so beware if you arrive on a friday or saturday as it took us 1 hour and 45 mins to find a space - 1 km away! In the end we payed a hotel to park securely for the rest of our stay.

great 2 star hotel
21 August 2007
i have stayed at this hotel many times and each time have been satisfied with the rooms, the hotel is in a great location for going out and not far from the beach. i have stayed with family and with friends and although the ages differed it catered for all. the staff were very friendly and it was nice to try my spanish out although a few did speak englist. rosa on reception was great and the waiter in the breakfast bar was the same. the breakfast on one occasion was a bit disappointing because they ran out of some of the hot food but there was so much more to chose from it was no big deal. the pool was great and the guests were a mixture of english and spanish all different age groups it was nice. i would recomment this hotel to anyone and already have done so. keep up the good work and see you again soon.

Good two star hotel with minor shortcomings
16 August 2007
# Breakfast (no other meals booked):
- selection: rolls, toast, croissants, pastry, cerials, fruits, yoghurt, tea, coffee, juices, milk, fried eggs, bacon, sausages, beans, 1 sort of cheese, 1 sort of ham.
- quality: good.
- variety: selection did not change at all during the stay.
# Room (facing pool area):
- safe: reasonable price (2€ per day).
- air conditioning: did only work occasionally, but was not really necessary if patio doors were open.
- bathroom: once we had water coming through the ceiling over bath tube, staff blamed guests upstairs, problem dissappeared.
- balcony: big balcony with small table, 2 chairs, clothes horse. lights were switched off automatically after midnight.
- noise: music and people's noise from adjacent streets and venues, but not a big problem. walls between rooms are very thin so you almost understand your neighbours' conversations
# Bars:
- acceptable prices in the breakfast bar (that served the pool area). prices almost twice as high in the main bar.
# Pool area:
- mostly shadowy in the mornings, sunny from about noon. free sunbeds and sunshades.
# Staff:
- Highly different (and improvable) English skills. Lack of English lets some of the staff appear unfriendly. Very bubbly and highly friendly waiter in the breakfast bar.
# Location:
- shops: supermarkets, newspaper and souvenir shops in close proximity.
- beaches: about 3-5 mins walking distance to closest beach.

i stayed in this hotel on the week beggining the 28th july 2007.
it was the best holiday i have ever been on. the staff were very nice and there is particually one member of staff that made me laugh and that was manwell one of the bar staff he was very bubbly all of the time and made our holidey very fun. there is one thing that we didnt like and that was having no entertainment on the night time because we had to go out every night, but other than that it was fantastic.

Great location.
31 July 2007
I have stayed at this hotel a couple of times, the last time being may 07.When the weekend came around it filled up with stags so it was a bit noisy. Also we were on the road side of hotel opposite the red dog pub which was noisy........But i always take earplugs so they came in handy.I am going back for 2 weeks in september, lots of ear plugs too and cant wait. The location is excellent and the price is a bargain. The pool are is smallish but you get the sun most of the day, thats no problem. The breakfast is like any you would get anywhere.Fried if you want it,continental and lots of fruit. The staff are nice too so what more can you want?

pleasant hotel
31 July 2007
The hotel was spotlessly clean, the power shower was brilliant. We had a room that looked out over the street and as it was very busy (end of July) We thought the noise would be a problem but once we closed our patio doors, we heard nothing. The rooms had air conditioning so that was good as usually you pay alot of money on arrival for that. The only very small complaint would be that there should have been a waiter on duty at breakfast to clear tables after people had finished as it was a bit off putting seeing all the dirty plates all around on the tables. Some mornings we had to clear a table ourselves. This was no hastle to me but it would be for some people.

Value for money and more...
30 July 2007
The hotel Perla leapt out at me when I was searching online for accommodation, as it was by far the cheapest of all the centrally located hotels in Benidorm. I was a bit concerned why it was so well priced, but needn't have worried as the stay turned out to be excellent. Very nice rooms with area to sit on the balcony, beautiful power shower to wash away the hangover in the morning, free use of TV in the rooms, and gorgeous breakfast included as well to suit all tastes from continental to fry up. The pool is huge and clean, and very tranquil considering how central it is - no huge groups of rugby teams on Stag Do's scaring people away. Infact I was pleasantly surprised how quiet the hotel was, considering the location and price. The clientelle were mainly families and couples, having said that young single groups would not feel out of place here. The only down side is that because its so close to the main strip of bars, it tends to be a bit noisy during the night. However, me and my friends were out every night until the early hours so it was no problem to us! The staff were friendly and helpful, 2 minute walk to the beach, and the icing on the cake turned out to be the 12pm check out time… most needed! I've stayed in another hotel in Benidorm for double the price, which was nowhere near as nice. I thoroughly recommend this place, whether you are a couple, a family, or on a Hen/Stag weekend. If I ever visit sunny Benidorm again, there is only one hotel I intend to stay at… the Perla!

The Pearl of the Benidorm hotels!
11 May 2007
I have just returned from a fabulous holiday with my husband and our two best friends. When we booked the hotel Perla, i had read so many bad reviews about how bad the food was no sun on the pool area really noisey and i've got to say at one point i was going to cancel but we went anyway cos we booked with Alpharooms who were great and easy. when we got there i was really surprised the hotel was so clean and elegantly decorated we walked in to a spacious reception and was greeted by friendly staff who catered for our every need. The rooms were quite large with plenty of room for two people, big bathroom with a power shower to die for! balcony was a good size with chairs, tables and clothes horse for drying. the only thing we did do which was a god send is we DEMANDED back rooms overlooking the pool on the top floor so it was quieter, even phoned the hotel, we did have to close our balcony doors at night but air con' was available. walls are quite thin so request end room it pays to be fussy!!! the bar down stairs is quite cheap for a hotel and their sangria is lethal.
Breakfast was great, there's hot and cold drinks, toast, crossaints, pastries, cereals, then sausages, fried eggs, boiled eggs, bacon, beans, fresh fruit etc as much as you want we didn't need much lunch after. If your there for the night life you are in an ideal place as main road is two blocks away with not much noise, for shoppaholics you were in the heart of the jungle but for people like us who got up at 9am and fell in to bed at midnight or sometimes earlier and wanted to sit by a nice sunny pool, it was fab! beach is just two roads down just close enough for your flip flops to make it unharmed and your sarong to stay up in a respectable position.... there was many nationalities staying at the hotel so if it's good enough for them it's good enough for us! i'll definately return.

09 October 2006
Excellent hotel all round, we were a bit apprehensive about it being a Two Star, but there was no reason to be, the room was fairly large, we had 3 beds in it, the towels were changed daily. We had a superb room on top floor as asked for from Alpharooms and had the corner room No. 521, which had a huge balcony right along two sides of hotel, fantastic Alpharooms once again. Breakfast was also great, had cereal, fruit, hot fried breakfast, toast, and some pastries daily. Hotel ideal location, right on the main square and only 5 minutes slow flat walk to the wonderful beach. Although the square has all the activity at night/morning, once the door was shut we never heard a sound. Hotel pool was rather shaded like other reviews stated but didnt bother us as used beach every day. Would definately stay in the Perla again when we go again next year. Fantastic value for money. Another great stay by Alpharooms.

Well done to the Perla The low price we had paid for this holiday i did not expect to be staying in a very friendly and very clean hotel so close to the centre of all the bars and night life. Your reception staff were friendly and informative no matter what time of the night you came in and your room cleaners were first class. The only complaint i have wich is very small, is presentation of breakfast and portions on display. I would stay with you again keep up the good service. Joe.T

The Hotel is spotlessly clean in all areas. All the staff are very friendly and helpful. The breakfast is plentiful although not varied. The rooms are well sized for 2 persons but are a little cramped for 3 as was our case. Our room had air conditioning which we were very grateful for. The rooms were cleaned every day and towels changed daily if required, bed linen changed twice a week. The Hotel is centrally situated, just a short walk from the beach, however this meant it could be noisy until the early hours of the morning if your room was facing the street. This was not a problem for us as our room was facing the pool. We would definately return, excellent value for money.

This hotel was clean, offered a good breakfast selection, was in a central spot for nightlife entertainment & Spanish notices etc were dislayed with English equivalents. We would stay there again Negatively there was no information in room re. booking in/out times nor breakfast (although we did see a plate by the lift with breakfast times displayed, after eating breakfast)! No tel. no. or e-mail address was given with the booking details, so could not contact the hotel beforehand to get this info. Lastly & very offputting was the very brown bath hot water, but because of staying for one night did not investigate further!

Basically ok
20 October 2005
Stayed in the Perla for one week in October. While it can get noisy at times being central,we found it wasn't constant(perhaps it's worse in high season). The hotel itself is clean throughout, the staff very helpful and friendly(cleaners included), and the rooms are basic but comfortable.Breakfast is varied with continental and English to choose from although the English one was always fried eggs, bacon, frankfurter sausages, and beans (it would have been nice to have tomatoes or mushrooms once in a while). The pool area is very spacious with a toddlers pool and any amount of sunloungers. On the down side there is no pool lifeguard and the sun is limited to the afternoon because of the imposing shadow of the hotel next door.Would we go back?? Yes we think we would,we've paid more for a holiday than this one and ended up in worse places.

The Hotel itself was clean and comfortable with air condition. The bad side to this hotel is the area, it was located in an area which was full of bars and night clubs, which did not Finnish till 7 in the morning, thus you got a lot of noise from people going from bar to bar. if your young and looking for a lively area with many bars and clubs this is for you. if you are looking for some where quieter or perhaps you are with children this may not suit your needs

The perla hotel is in a great position in Benidorm and rooms are basic and clean. The pool area is shaded most of the day by the hotel next door. What i was really disappointed with was the noise level, the slamming of doors and the furniture movers, i ended up buying earplugs to get a decent nights sleep. Although the hotel advertises air conditioning, its only on a few hours a day so our room was like sleeping in a greenhouse. The hotel marina next door was having work done right next to the perla swimming pool so there was noise from drilling, hammers etc from 8 in the morning till 6 at night. Had i known about the work going on i would have asked for an alternative.
