Not a Palace!
29 January 2008
I booked this hotel for a 2 night Mother and Daughter break. the location is fine and it is only a short walk to Queensway tube where you can get straight on the Central Line. However, we were very disappointed with the standard of accomodation. The staff couldn't speak English but I suppose that is no great shock in England. The room was tiny and the beds were uncomfortable. We went to breakfast on the first morning but gave up in the end and walked out. There is only 3 cereals up for grabs and people qued for toast. The staff, however brought about 5 sliced of toast out at a time! There was a mad rush to try to get some and I wasn't prepared to fight for toast! Needless to say that we went to Bella Italia for breakfast the next morning. We had to suffer cold showers as there was not enough hot water and on both nights we both couldn't sleep with general noise around due to the walls being seemingly very thin. I wouldn't bother staying at this hotel again.

Pembridge IS a Palace
09 November 2006
A three star rating for this hotel is an absolute joke. Five star is better fitting. It was everything my husband and I imagined a London hotel to be; quaint and charming down to the last doorknob. The rooms were absolutely massive with floor to ceiling windows and a luxurious bath. We were treated like royalty for the five nights we stayed and had to be dragged out kicking and screaming.

Review of 'PEMBRIDGE PALACE'
28 October 2005
The staff a the hotel were very friendly and helpful. We asked for extra bedding and tea making facilities on arrival, and this was immediately sorted with no fuss or complaints. With being strangers to London,we were unsure of directions to places of interest, but the hotel staff took time out to give us all the information required. The hotel was clean, and had all that we required for our stay. We will have no hesitation with booking at this hotel in the future(which we intend to do in the near future)and take the whole family.

Review of 'PEMBRIDGE PALACE'
31 May 2005
The room was dark, stale-smelling and untidy ( curtains hanging off rail ) and there were NO tea/coffee making facilities at all in the room despite publicity stating that "every one of the 120 rooms has...."
The room was in the basement and had a glass door leading straight outside ( a security and privacy risk in my view )
The bed was extremely uncomfortable, the television reception was poor
Sound insulation was good, no noise from neighbours at all
The shower and toilet were efficient but there were no drinking glasses provided at all ( for such esentials as rinsing after teeth-brushing ! )
Not a totally bad experience ( I've had much worse ) but a little effort had been spared and the lack of tea/coffee facilities ( in 2005 ) was unacceptable

Review of 'PEMBRIDGE PALACE'
20 April 2005
Three stars (first class) rating for this hotel is an absolute joke. We expected little from London hotels as we've been there before and have been exposed to the prices and small rooms. This "Palace" takes the cake, however - TINY rooms, thin walls, below-average breakfast. For the price and the rating, you would expect half-way helpful staff. Our wake-up call the day of our 7 am departure never happened - and the manager had the audacity to be indignant and get mad at us for claiming he never called (what, all three of us in this tiny room went deaf?!). The night manager could not explain how we could make an overseas phone call. He convinced us to take a £35 taxi ride to Heathrow when the Heathrow Express would have been half the cost - turned out to be someone's private car. Do not expect 3-star service or 3-star accommodations - you will be sorry you stayed there.
