Never again!!
08 October 2008
I have just returned from 2 weeks in the Pella Apartments and will definitely never return. The rooms are basic in the extreme. The appliances consisted of a kettle (which wouldn't switch off, a fridge and a double hot plate). There is nowhere to sit and relax apart from the single divan bed or at the table. The apartment was not cleaned during our two week stay. The sheets were changed once and the towels twice. The place was filthy and looked as if it needed a real industrial clean. There was a building site outside our balcony and the cement mixer started at 7.45am meaning that we couldn't sit outside for breakfast or lunch and the apartment was so small and stuffy we ate out more than we had planned. When we arrived Elena told us that if we needed anything just to ask unfortunately what she didn't say was that the answer would be no we couldn't have it. We talked to other people staying there and they were horrified at the low standards and lack of cleanliness and said they would definitely not be returning. On our last day we were the only people left in our block as they were obviously coming to the end of the season so we asked if we could leave our stuff in the room until 4.30pm. Yet again the answer was "no" as they need to clean the room. I only wish I had asked what the urgency was as it hadn't been cleaned for the last fortnight. We were steered to the "Courtesy Room" which really filthy, full of wee flies and only had a small shaving light above the basin. The toilet had no seat and was too dirty to use so we made our visit to it as short as was humanly possible. We will never be returning to these apartments.

09 August 2008
We have just returned from a group holiday at Pella Apartments. There was 9 in the group 2 family's each with 2 children ages, 12.14.15 and 17 and a grandad.
We arrived at the apartments at 02.30am and were greeted very warmly and even got a cooked meal as we were all starving. The apartments were basic but comfortable and clean. We found the owners, George, Maria, Eleni, Dimitri and Pella all to be friendly and willing to do anything for you during your stay.
We ate in a number of restaurants during our stay but after a few nights we decided to eat at Pella every night because the food was very good, cooked to perfection and always served with a smile.
The pool wasn't overally big but was sufficient for our kids and all the others to have a brilliant time and the beach was only a short distance away and we visited that a number of times too.
Gouves itself was quiet but really nice, it wasn't full of hustle and bustle which added to the relaxing atmosphere. We did hire a car and travelled around Crete and everywhere we went was really nice.
I would recommend these apartments to anybody who wants a quiet but friendly and enjoyable hoiliday. The ages of people in our group varied from young to old and all had a good time which proves it is suitable for all ages. We are definately going back in 2009.

Nice for a chill out
18 July 2008
This is a clean well run establishment and the owners are very very helpful. The pool is smaller than we thought and can get quite crowded - while we were stopping a group of Hungarians took the pool over and were very noisy, that was a shame and the diving and jumping meant that we could not get in and swim - the only time this happened during the week - there is a beach a short walk away so we spent time away which was very relaxing. There are some great restaurants nearby for evening meals - don't know as we would go back year after year but we have some fun memories of Crete the people really are lovely.

July 08 stay in Pella apt
17 July 2008
We have just come back from our first trip to Greece and will be going back again ASAP. Pella appartments are basic, but what you lack in facilities you make up for in friendliness, Eleni, Dimitri,George,Maria and Pella are a lovely family and nothing is too much trouble. Stavros and Katarina complete the team and all made our holiday very special. we tried a few different places to eat but pella taverna was by far the best, George is an excelent cook and would often come and sit and have a Raki with us later in the evening, they all have a way of making everyone feel special and we really enjoyed our stay and cant wait to go back again

Fantastic
28 September 2007
This year was the third year I have spent at the Pella apartments and will definitely be going back next year and many years to come. There are two types of apartments, one which is quite new, very clean and comfortable and the others are more traditional but still very clean and comfortable. The family (George, Maria, Dimitri, Eleni, Pella, Maria and Georgina) that runs the apartments, taverna and supermarket cannot do enough for you at any time during your stay and will go out of their way to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. The resort itself is quiet but there are some fantastic bars and restaurants on the main street and everyone is so friendly. The apartments are under the flight path into Heraklion and planes are coming in throughout the night but after a couple of days you don't even notice them. The pool area is fantastic with a clean pool and a pool bar so you don't have to walk down to the taverna for a drink. The apartments do not have a reception but this is a family run business and they do have a family to look after. Should you arrive late at night it is easy to find your apartment as there are lights leading up to the apartment blocks and the key is left in the door for you. Eleni has normally emailed you the room number if you have booked independently like we do. If you want to explore the area there are plenty of car and bike hire places for you to rent transport and it is worthwhile visiting Heraklion market on a saturday, it is an experience!!!! I would recommend these apartments and the resort to anyone who wants to spend time relaxing and recuperating

Pella Apartments
02 August 2007
2007 is our second year of staying at the Pella apartments. The accomodation is basic and very clean. Beds, kitchen and shower what more do you need? George and his family are very friendly and always willing to help you if you need it. This year George gave us bottles of his home made Retsina which we managed to get home safely. we have yet to try it but no doubt it will be very good to drink. We are looking forward to going back next year for another sun drenched and peaceful time.

beter than all the rest!!!!
26 July 2007
At the time we visited we were looking for a budget holiday and expected to get what we paid for - how wrong we were!! George' Demitrie and his family offered over and above a first class service - on the first day of our stay I experienced an accident nothing to do with the staff but which required medical attention. George proclaimed the assistance of his own personal physician who was himself on holiday at that time to come and attend to me and enable me fit to fly home with the rest of my family( DEmitri voluntarily acted as my chaffeur to ferry to and from the medical centre). I will never foget the way they treated us as part of their own family and intend to visit again next year - our children then being 15 and 13! If you want a relaxing holiday where you can be yourself and not act on ceremony, a place where your children can be themselves in an accepted freindly and family orientated place and where above all family life is embraced - you can go to no better place on earth!! Thank you Demitre and George for going way above the call of duty!!!

Review of 'PELLA APARTMENTS'
06 October 2006
Having just returned from a holiday at the Pella Apartments, I would thoroughly recommend it. The family are so helpful and pleasant nothing is too much trouble. We stayed in the new part and they were excellent, the only complaint was that our balcony didn't get the sun, but still there was plenty to be had round the pool, and over the road at the beach. The meals at the taverna were excellent and so reasonably priced. We certainly will be returning there again.

Review of 'PELLA APARTMENTS'
05 October 2006
what no-one told us was that we were directly on the incoming flight path to the airport and that at 3am the panes were still coming in!!! Also the description should read that the appartments are at the back of the Taverna and supermarket and very basic, clean but rustic is a better description. There is no reception, if you arrive at night you walk down the alley between the supermarket and the taverna whilst the host tries to find your name on the list in the dark!!!to enable her to point the way to the appartment. The bar area at the poolside was filthy although the pool itself was clean. The weather was lovley though.

Review of 'PELLA APARTMENTS'
20 September 2006
Pella apartments were very clean and extremely close to all amenities. The owners/staf were very friendly and helpful. The apartments were very basic but well looked after and the one bedroom apartmentwas quite spacious for two people.
The town of Gouves was very pleasant and there were plenty of shops and restaurants to investigate.
The beach area was very pleasant too.

The Pella offers a good choice of food & nothing is too much trouble. George, demitri & all the family are so pleased to make sure your holiday is an enjoyable one. The Kleftiko on the menu is a must & once tried will be your favourite bite to eat. Relaxing environment & surrounding are a must for a really relaxing holiday.

Review of 'PELLA APARTMENTS'
13 June 2006
Prior to finding Pella Apts we had travelled extensively throughout Europe, never going back to the same place twice. Since finding Pella, however, we are just about to return for the third time! Try it, you'll like it. A great family run place to spend a fortnight. I guarantee you will never find a friendlier family run hotel!

Review of 'PELLA APARTMENTS'
16 March 2006
The family made us feel really welcome, nothing was too much trouble, the stories from granpa George are second to non. The taverna is a lovely place to eat (son enjoyed the sports on the big t.v.) Lots of lovely places to see and visit, ask where are the best beaches etc, they will point you in the right direction. Shopping is great in Heraklion. We will go back without a doubt and I have recommended my friends to pay a visit.
