Bonnington - a winner!
21 August 2007
I last stayed here about 6 mths ago, and it has since undergone a refurbishment. The room (a wee bit small) was beautifully decorated and furnished, free wi-fi access (always a bonus!), secure, quiet and the hotel is located very centrally for Holborn, Covent Gdn and Oxford St. Great little Trattoria nearby called Verdi. All in all, a very good hotel, great value for money and I will definitely stay there again - in fact next week!

Bonnington July 2007
16 July 2007
An excellent hotel very clean with friendly staff. The room we stayed in was 'cosy' and had not been refurbished, however, it had all we needed and was reasonably comfortable. The hotel location was superb with easy access to all main facilities. We walked everywhere but tube access very close by the hotel. Breakfast a highlight with efficient and friendly staff. I would recommend and use again.

Review of 'BONNINGTON'

The Hotel was brilliant. It is in a great location close to every where we wanted to go. The food was lovely especially the breakfasts!!! All the staff were very helpful and friendly. We stayed in one of the newly decorated rooms which were a good size and nicely furnished. The hotel will look great once it has all been refurbished. We will definitely be going back to stay there

March 2007 This was my second visit to the Bonnington, and I was happy with the service both times. The hotel is in an excellent location, easy walking distances for the Tube, Covent Garden, Oxford Street and of course the British Museum. The Staff are helpful and friendly, the rooms are clean and there is a plentiful breakfast with a wide choice. I have stayed at several London hotels over the years, and the Bonnington certainly compares well in terms of value for reasonable rates.

London begins here.
17 February 2007
Great hotel for your average traveller, at it's price it meets all expectations accomodation wise. The room we stayed in was confortable, spacious enough with a large, clean bathroom and a shower that was spot on. Breakfast was pretty standard fare, although the continental was really good. Rolls, fruit etc. nice and fresh and plenty of time to relax over it. The big plus for the Bonnington however is the location. Bloomsbury has a real buzz to it, nice pubs and restuarants all around the hotel, public transport links on the doorstep but best of all the centre of London is easily walkable. Wander past the British museum down into Covent Garden, Soho and Theatreland. All the other attractions are very accessable and the walking constantly brings you into the interesting and unexpected places that makes London a real adventure. When you arrive at the Bonnington your London experience begins.

Review of 'BONNINGTON'
20 October 2006
Bonnington was a great hotel choice...location, facilities, amenities...however, one word of advice to overseas travelers: do not try to get into your room before 1:30PM. This may be fine for locals but for those who have travelled overnight, the Bonnington cannot get you into a room in the morning. Also, not all rooms are the same size...fortunately room 227 had a leaky window( with the rain pouring down this was evident) and we were moved down the hall to room 230 which was much larger, dry and able to accommodate 2 adults plus suitcases. The staff at the Bonnington helped move all of our clothes and suitcases. The staff could not have been more helpful both at the front desk and in the dining room. I would definitely stay here again.

The Bonny Bonnington
06 October 2005
We stayed at the Bonnington Hotel in London's West End (Bloomsbury area) for five nights in September 2005. I was on a mission to find reasonably-priced but comfortable accommodations in Central London--no easy feat!--and based on Tripadvisor reviews, narrowed it down to the Darlington Hyde Park and the Bonnington. The Bonnington won out based on location.
I reviewed numerous web sites (including the hotel's). The cheapest option I found was alpharooms.com. I'm glad I booked here!
When we checked in, we were asked if we booked a "family room". We told the clerk we booked a double, but they put us in the family room anyway. This room (on the fifth floor) had two double beds and a separate seating area with a couch (see photos). This kind of space is very unusual for London, and we found we didn't feel cramped or stir-crazy. (I did not see what a standard double looked like, so it may have been considerably smaller).
The room was very clean, the beds fairly comfortable. The other amenities are pretty slim: no bar/refrigerator or toiletries and limited towels. The shower didn't disappoint, although it was annoying that the bathroom had no shelf on which to put anything. The closet was ample, there was a reading chair, and the desk was large. Wireless Internet is available in the hotel at a reasonable rate, but never worked in our room, which the hotel blamed on the phone company. We were able to use our laptop in the lobby.
The breakfast (included in the cost) was typical of European hotels, with a fairly good variety of hot and cold foods. The staff (including the concierge desk) were very helpful and booked our return car to Heathrow. All in all, I would have expected to pay (and have paid) twice as much in London for a comparable hotel. I would definitely recommend this hotel; who would think you could find a room at only $132 a night!
Side note on dining: Everyone knows London is expensive, and I always prepare for this when I go. However, I was very dismayed at the cost of restaurant meals; we paid nearly US $100 for two for every dinner, without alcohol or dessert. And we ate quite a few mediocre meals.

Review of 'BONNINGTON'
23 September 2005
The room we stayed in was spacious, even by European standards. The bed was very comfortable and provided a great nights sleep. We were on the 6th floor, which I believe is a non-smoking floor. The room was very quiet. Coffee and tea were replenished daily as well as bottled water. The hotel staff were extremely friendly and very helpful. The breakfast had a wide variety of selections and fresh fruit which made a good start for our busy days. A word of advice; we were not offered early check-in as our flight arrived at 0700 and we got to the hotel by 1100; check-in is 1400. Early check-in would have been nice given we spent 10 hours flying and had a eight hour time difference. All in all, we will definitely stay here again, but try to arrange a later flight. Definitely a great value for the price.

Overall the hotel was very good and we'd definitely stay there again. The price was excellent for it's location, rooms large and clean. The staff were very friendly. There was a very good selection at breakfast, the only negative comment is that the cooked food at breakfast was a bit tasteless. However, the choice was excellent.

Really good hotel. Was impressed as many London hotels don't live up to expectations. This was a nice, friendly hotel. Rooms were good and clean. Breakfast very tasty and plentiful. Location superb - 5 minute walk to Russel Sq tube station. Plus loads of good bars/restaurants and cafes on southampton Row. Well worth the money and will return here for my next London trip.
