Park Hotel

I have never been to Corfu and was paying a surprise visit to see my daughter who has started working in Kontokali. I could only stay five nights so I was looking for something available, comfortable and reasonable. I tried the Alpharooms site and found the Park Hotel filled my needs. The site picture didn't look too special so the price looked fair even though rated as 4 star. On arrival I was extremely pleased to find the hotel was every bit a 4 star establishment. My room was large, well appointed, with a view over the bay to die for and by now I am thinking 'this is cheap' - so what was the catch? The pool is very clean and the pool bar served excellent snacks freshly made and cheaper than the local bars with two lovely ladies one from Canada and one from Wales who were happy to be there to wait on you so no problem there. So my picky bits are the entertainment was not that good but the clients were mainly elderly and they liked it. The hot breakfast from the buffet was not good but the cold selection was excellent. I was permitted to entertain two guests for the evening buffet and found this value for money, adequate but not exciting. Checking in and out was easy and the staff really wanted to help. The busy road passing is an annoyance to cross but no noise problem wen enjoying the grounds, pool or at night. Would I recommend the hotel and go back? My answer is yes to the first and I can't wait' to the second.
