Paris Hotel, Paris!
17 June 2008
This is certainly not the Gerorge V but it's clean, tidy and relatively quiet. The location is quite good being near a couple of Metro stations but it's a good walk from the Gare du Nord (nearer 20 mins. than 15 mins.) The breakfast was rather better than expected - basic but quite plentyful.
Being on the edge of the 'redlight' district was a concern but it was not a problem as it's all rather discrete and if you head down the hill from the hotel to the St George Metro you totally miss it anyway. Lots of restuarants nearby - wide choice and very affordable.

The hotel was not really as described and the room was very small not at all like the pictures shown on the internet. This was supposed to be 3 *** but i would say it was more of a 2 **. The breakfast was nice but it was not enough for 2 people and as it is served to you if you have had a heavy night the night before and would like a little extra it was awkward to ask for more, it would of been better if it was a help yourself buffet breakfast. Sorry to rain on the parade but was not happy with the hotel .

Paris Hotel
31 May 2007
The hotel is situated in a typically French, Prrisian street, with a wonderful tree-lined approach. Staff were very polite and courteous, and spoke excellent English. The room was clean and tidy. The restaurant, located in the cellar was quaint and breakfast was delicious. We would advise buying tickets to hop on and off the local sightseeing buses (29 Euros for 2 days unlimited travel with intercom, travel guide in English, etc), an take the Roissy bus from CDG airport (only 8 Euros each). Hotel IS very close to Moulin Rouge area, but ideal for open minded, culturally diverse travellers. We would definitely revisit this hotel.

Review of Hotel Paris
31 May 2007
I booked this hotel for a weekend away with friends. Having read the reviews, I had an idea of what to expect and was pleasantly suprised.
We also arived early - about 10am, but was promptly given a room. I booked a triple room, however on arival was given a triple room with 1 double bed and 1 single. This was no problem, but would have been nice to have been told on booking.
This was the only fault I found during my stay at the Paris Hotel. The hotel was very clean and breakfast was lovely. We had a view from our window over Paris and to the left Montmartre.
As previous reveiws state, this hotel is located just off the red light district and as a group of girls, we did get slightly harrased walking down the Boulevard De Clichy on our walk home from the Moulin Rouge. This street reminded us of Leicester Square, rather loud and brash, it is the red light district, so to be expected really. There are plenty of bars and restaurants nearby, which offer cocktails and better music if you take a walk up the hill towards Montmartre.
There is also lots of boutiques and vintage clothes shops nearby, a couple of shops selling handmade clothes and individual one-off handbags.
Obviously, you get what you pay for and this was a 3* honest, cheap hotel, that I couldnt fault, ideal for couples or friends. The Paris Hotel is located in a quiet street, close to the Metro and lively night life. I would stay here again, not perhaps for a romantic weekend away though. Rather a cheap, convienient location to explore the city.

Review of 'PARIS'
13 March 2007
Our party arrived early at the hotel only one room was ready but reception staff made sure the other was ready within 10 minutes. As to be expected in Paris, the reception area, lifts and rooms are all on the small side, but for a short break all are perfectly adequate and clean. Breakfast in the cellar was really enjoyable. The Hotel is in close proximity to Pigalle and St George Metro stations making all areas easily accessible. Numerous restaurants and bars on your doorstep but beware of some which are obviously connected to the red light district however all activity appeared to be contained within. Overall staff friendly, accomodation clean and tidy, ideal location, great value for money, will definitely return on my next visit.

Review of 'PARIS'

The Paris Hotel is a sweet little hotel in close proximity to two Metro stations (Pigalle and St Georges). The reception staff were very pleasant: we arrived in Paris at 12pm and even though check-in was not until 2pm, they offered to look after our bags so that we could spend time getting to know the city. Rooms are small but adequate for a city break in which you do not spend much time there anyway. Breakfast was lovely in a little cellar, and you are provided with bread, little pastries, biscottes, jams and cheese. Be warned that the hotel is a 2 minute walk from the red light district (which is centred around Pigalle), however this is not an area in which you feel unsafe and all activity is confined to bars in which you can see scantily dressed young ladies waiting for prospective clients to buy them a drink! The Moulin Rouge is 5 minutes away and Montmartre is also very close. I would recommend this hotel for people looking for a comfortable base for their city break.

Review of 'PARIS'
29 January 2007
We had read various reviews about the hotel, some good, some indifferent, and therefore had a slight hesitation about what to expect.
I have to say, the approach when travelling in via the booked taxi service also gave some concern to the location, when passing through the red-light district, in the Moulin Rouge vicinity.
On arrival though, we were pleasantly suprised by how quiet the Rue Henry-Monnier was, and how charming the hotel looked.
We were greeted by Nathalie, who proved to be very helpful over the next few days of our stay, and checked in without a problem.
Whilst not a large reception area, it was very comfortable & cosy, & had an adjoining seating area, which was well decorated & furnished, & had a TV, and was a lovely " waiting area ".
I think the phrase " compact & bijou " must have originated from various accomodations in Paris, and certainly applied to the hotel lift - having said that, I din't fancy lugging our suitcases to the fifth floor, so it was absolutely fine.
Again, our room was probably typical for Hotel's in Paris, though was ideal - comfy bed, a little en-suite, nice flat-screen TV, with a few SKY channels, desk / chair, etc.
For me, a great benefit was having Wi-Fi access, which was also free to use - a very good " extra ".
Our room overlooked the street, and whilst we were there towards the end of January, it was lovely to be able to access the " sights & sounds " of the area via the dual balcony we had.
It was cold, though very interesting to occasionally " poke your nose " outside - a major benefit being the view of the Sacre-Couer, which was lit up of an evening.
Whilst looking only a few hundred feet away, the Sacre-Couer proved to be a lot further than we thought, though was certainly worth the treck up the numerous steps to the Church - inside was beautiful, and the views back over Paris were stunning.
You are literally spoilt for choice, regarding eateries, as within a five minute walk in 3 / 4 directions, you have a great variety of Cafes, Restaurants - 50% French 50% None French.
If you walk up the hill of an evening, just before you get to the Moulin Rouge, there are several " interesting bars ", though as we didn't realise this until our last night, we can say with 100% conviction that they have no effect whatsoever on your stay at the Hotel.
We had a superb deal.
