great hotel
27 August 2008
been to this hotel about 5 times now for 3/4 nights each time as we usually move on.good food aspecially the english breakfast with english sausage and tinned tomatoes.plenty of selection at dinner,i am a fussy eater and dont eat anything foriegn(except scotch eggs and welsh rarebit)but i could always find something.i always have a car but dont use it,i leave it in the shade in the free parking(which other hotels charge for)i use the free bus down to the town,it stops about 9-30 pm but whats 4/5 euros to get home in a taxi after you have had a good time in the town.as well as other times(cheap flights permitting)i will be there again in march.cannot fault hotel.

Palm Beach
05 July 2008
This hotel is not a four star so please be aware. It could do with an upgrade was quite shabby. The staff were ok but there is hardly any entertainment for children. The evening entertainment is geared toward the Spanish tourists and there is not a lot of variety in either this or the food. Construction behind made it quite noisy. Felt let down by this hotel and would not recommend to my family or friends. Rooms are also very small and not as described in the picture.

Brilliant Hotel
01 July 2008
We had a fantastic time. We have 2 children one is 9 and the other was 1 so quite a big age gap. This did not matter in this hotel as it catered for children of all ages right next to the bar area was a play area for the little ones with 3 slides and a climbing frame and next to that was a huge area for my 9 year old to play football which had 2 goal posts or they could play ping pong. the hotel was very clean, staff were very friendly and helpful. Only one complaint was that we were not told that the free bus did not run between 2pm and 5pm and we were stood in the boiling heat with our kids for over an hour!! I was not happy! The hill that everyone is talking about is deffinately not good for old people, but we didnt find it that bad and we had a buggy to push. I thought it was good exercise after all the food I ate there. Breakfast is lovely very english or continental if thats what you like and the evening there was plenty of variety!! highly recomend the water park we had a brilliant day there its huge and there was loads to do. We would deffinately go back to this hotel its deffinately one of the best in Benidorm!!!!

palm beach hotel
29 June 2008
This hotel was excellent, the room was good size for the 3 of us ,quite basic ,they looked clean till you looked closer. As im a cleaner myself i notice these things,it was quite dusty, been in room 5 minutes in bere feet and they were covered in dust and hair and that was all week ,we got clean towels everyday .the staff were very friendly food was excellent ,catered for young and old even champayne for breakfast if you wanted.there was entertainment each night and plenty to do in a day .As we knew it was at the top of a hill , we still wasnt prepared for this,it was very steep indeed ,it was quite tiring ,we only attemted it 2 times as we had a car, would say it is quite slippery going down ,there is a free bus that takes you to the beach and back you ask at reception and they give you tickets.Overall this is a great holiday hotel ,just wouldnt go back to it just because of the hill.

The palm beach is a 3 star posing as a 4 star ie, good decoratively and some(not enough)helpfull staff, it lacks a certain helpfullness to the brits maybe this was because when we were there the spanish holidays started.
If this was proper 4 star the security and management would have sorted the roudiness etc straight away, and why all of a sudden was everything suddenly spanish orientated for a week.
The entertainment staff, not good enough, not enough creativity for kids day or night.
The food was fine but the usual every other night.
The palm beach is ok but i wont go back there with my kids.

Construction and roadworks pain as coach could not get right to hotel door on arrival but was able to get there departing. Being honest think this is down to individual drivers. Noise not really noticeable even around pool during day because of great music being played. Staff friendly and hotel overall I would recommend and return to. Corridors to rooms very shabby & misleading to rest to facilities. Room small but clean, food good. Good location if you dont mind a walk and there is a free shuttlebus and ample taxis. Central to shopping, beach and Mundomar and Aqualandia etc. Well worth the money we paid.

We recently stayed at the Palm Beach on a darts holiday. We had a super time. Bedrooms great, All the staff bar, reception, waiters and cleaners were friendly and very helpful. Always with a smile and had time to listen. Food was a little repetative but ok. This and the hill to climb back from the beach were really the only things that we could fault. Altogether a super hotel.

EXCELLENT PLACE TO STAY
09 June 2008
Palm Beach is an excellent hotel to stay in.Despite a great deal of building work going on around the hotel at the time we stayed it wasnt to noticable with the double glazing.
The food was plentiful and as good as it gets maybe a little bland but excellent just the same.
Staff were polite and helpful.High standard of cleanliness.
A short hop on the regular bus service to beach that was easy to walk but not so easy getting back up due to the hill.
Indoor heated pool was HOT and great after a long day out.You would need to be a right fuss pot to fault this hotel .

the palm beach experience
07 June 2008
it would be very hard to find fault with this hotel. the rooms were very clean with ample wardrobe space.comfortable beds and clean towels daily.reception staff very polite and obliging.the food served in the palm beach is excellent with a wide variety to suit everyone. this was our first time in benidorm.last october my wife who is just 49 was diagnosed with terminal liver cancer unknown primary.throughout the winter she went through intense chemotherapy treatment at which time the future looked very uncertain and our chances of going abroad again looked to be very slim. however a scan in april 08 showed a 3 centimeter decrease in size. my wife began to feel well and we took the opportunity that we thought we would never have. The prognosis was two to three years. Not knowing if we will ever be able to go abroad again it was important that we stayed at a good hotel and the palm beach met all hopes and expectations. If my wife stays well enough i hope to take her back in October for her 50th birthday.

palm beach benidorm may 2008
29 May 2008
although there is nothing wrong with this hotel there is on going road works around this hotel that start at 8am and finish at 8pm, this looks like it may be going on for years not just a week or two. as a result of this the coach will not drop you off or pick you up at this hotel and with the steep hill we found many elderly couples were struggling with heavy bags. this makes it an unsuitable location for any one who doesnt like the sound of heavy digging all day and cant drag your suitcase up a steep hill would not return there are many other hotels in benidorm in better locations

7 nights at Palm Beach. April 2008
04 May 2008
We stayed for 7 nights in the Palm Beach at the end of April. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
Rooms are clean and comfortble with no shortage of fresh towels daily. Walls could be doing with freshening up but otherwise excellent.
We stayed full board and the food was excellent with lots of choice..beef, chicken, salmon, prawns...and lots of it. Sometimes the breakfast could have been a bit hotter and we were down early but nothing major.
If we return to Benidorm we would definetly be returning to the Palm Beach Hotel.

dissappointed
19 April 2008
stayed at the palm beach 12-15 april..myself and my partner had read the reviews beforehand and the only negative was the steep hill, and they werent wrong !!
on arrival staff were quite abrupt..not really helpful as to where everything was or any info about the restaurant etc . rooms were much smaller than the pictures we had seen. but rooms were nice and clean .
food wasnt the best either, when you could get near that is ! we have had better food in lesser rated hotels in benidorm.
the hotels location was awful .. worse than we imagined and i would never stay there again for that reason..we now realise why we only paid £ 92 for 3 nights half board.
all in all the hotel looks the part but is not all its cracked up to be.

3 nights stay
15 April 2008
We stayed at the Palm Beach, i read the reviews before we left. We arrived after dinner had finished but because we said we would be late arriving they had put a cold meal aside for us which we did not expect so was pleasantly surprised. The food was lovely plenty of choice. The hotel is up a hill but the hotel gives you free bus tickets to use to the beach or to the old town(bus every half an hour) we only used the bus once its not that far or steep. There are building works out the back of the hotel but the noise was to a low level, The outdoor pool needed cleaned but it had been windy. the room was nice, it was peacefull sitting out on the balcony before heading out in the evening. The staff were helpfull. I would recommend this hotel to other holiday makers.

Stayed at Palm Beach for 2 nights def. not 4 star. The rooms are nothing like the brochure it took us two attempts to get a satisfactory room. Palm Beach
05 April 2008
I went to Palm Beach with my 13 yr old daughter for a short break with some sunshine, and that is exactly what we got. Once we arrived at the airport the transfer was quick and easy to find. The transfer back to the airport was just as easy with alpharooms, and we got the use of a 53 seater to ourselves! The staff at Palm Beach were friendly and helpful, the rooms were clean and basic, but were fine for what we wanted, as we did not spend lots of time in there. The food was okay, lots of choice, but we are fussy eaters anyway! The pool was not heated, so we did not use it, it was a bit dirty as well. The beach was only a short walk away, but the bus was free, so we used that instead, it was every half hour and very precise. The beach itself is worth a visit. The local bars were easy to find, only five minutes away at the bottom of a hill, but worth the walk for a change of scenery from the hotel entertainment, as this was only a CD being played to an empty room. Overall, this hotel was perfect for a three day break with some sunshine. Would definitely use Palm Beach again for a short break.

excellent
17 March 2008
13th - 16th march
Just come back from 3 nights full board stay with 14 friends, beautiful hotel, ideally situated especially when the fog came in down below yet we were bathed in sunlight!!! yes, the corridors are very narrow and a bit scruffy esp as it is rated a 4star hotel- the food can be a bit `same` but you can never go hungry. The only downside was when an influx of spanish teenagers approx 30 of them were admitted on the 15th march the noise, shouting whistling running around the corridors was not very pleasant - if this is a 4star hotel they would not have been allowed to book and stay there - very clean hotel and all the facilities were good - it was situated on a hill but the taxi service and complimentary bus service are excellent. Would definitely stay there again but minus the teenagers please.

incredible value
13 March 2008
The Palm Beach is a lovely hotel. Great value with excellent food. I am a fussy eater and found something at every meal. The Spanish omlette at breakfast was great, so was the champagne! As warned in other reviews 'cardiac hill' up to the hill was a trek, but the hotel runs a free bus to and from beach. There is also a free bus to and from the centre which is only a short walk into the old town. Would recommend this hotel to any other older couple.

Just returned from a 7 night stay, half board,on 5th March.Very pleased with the Hotel, and thought Buffet mealtimes were very very good.Always plenty enough to eat with a good selection of courses..and the food was always very nicely prepared and presented, and tastful. Staff were always helpful throughout the Hotel, some not quite too good with the English language, but were always very helpful..The hill down to the Beach is not too bad once you know which way to walk, or how to use the complimentary Bus service down then back up..Taxi services are very good, and not too expensive...Its well worth a visit to the Old Town, also to the Benidorm Palace Theatre, excellent shows here,, and also a visit to Mundomar to see the Dolphins etc. We would like to recommend the Palm Beach Hotel to anyone.just to ask not only the staff but also fellow guests about anything you wish to know,we found this was the best way to find ,how, when and where...Excellent

Just returned from 4 nights at the Palm Beach. Tremendous Value for money, Good Food, staff very pleasant, Entertainment good at the weekend when hotel is quite busy with spanish holiday makers. On that note this seems to be a problem for wome other reviewers but for us it added to the enjoyment. There was a couple of idiot holiday makers banging all the doors in the early hours on the first night so don't put the do not disturb sign on your door or you might be disturbed. The hill location was not a problem unless you had mobility problems. We only ventured out a couple of times and there were planty bars and restaraunts within easy walking distance. Would return to this hotel if visiting Benidorm again.

Just returned from a hectic week in Benidorm. This hotel was great value for money. Hotel room cleaned daily and food in restaurant was excellent. Anyone who couldn't find something which suited them must be really fussy. Hotel situated up steep hill but did say so in the brochure so were ready for it. Taxis were cheap enough for those who couldn't do the walk and shuttle bus backwards and forwards from the hotel throughout the day. Indoor swimming pool and sauna an advantage at this time of year - kids loved it. Would definitely recommend this and definitely go there again if in Benidorm. Best value for money we've spent on hotel. Give it a try I'm sure you wont be dissappointed.

Stayed at Palm Beach Hotel for a 9 day break at the end of February. Food excellent and kids loved indoor heated pool. Plenty of equipment in gym but could do with being maintained. Occasional shows held in bar area on evening were good and entertained kids, staff friendly. Palm Beach - 4* half board at self catering price
23 February 2008
We stayed for 5 days during February. On the whole the hotel is good value for money. We are used to camping and walking so many of the minus points about the hotel didn’t really bother us. If you’re the sort of person who likes to have a clean basic room and spends their time away from the hotel then it should be fine. If you like to spend lots of tome at the hotel read all the reviews.
Many of the minus points people complain about are to do with the time of year (entertainment not being on, pool outside not being available etc)
I would use this hotel again – but not this year – due mainly to the building work.
Pros
Good Value for money - £147 for a couple for 5 days
Rooms were clean but basic
Shower was nice and powerful
Minibar and tv in room
Good range of food styles for breakfast – full English, cereal, hams and fruit.
Reasonable buffet at evening meal, salad content varied, various fish options – but remember it’s still a buffet
House wine only 8 euro
Indoor pool was great, as was the gym – nice as the weather for our first 2 days was not so good.
Hotel staff were friendly enough and efficient
Courtesy bus outside hotel – which some people will need
Little bit of entertainment we saw was okay
Cons
8am every morning alarm call in the form of building work at the rear of the hotel – by the end of the week it did grate! Although we don’t spend to much time at the hotel so it was annoying but not the end of the world. I’d guess this building work will continue right through 2008.
No tea making facilities in room (but we always take a small kettle)
Bathroom (in our room) was looking a bit shoddy (shower head rail loose, door was obviously soaking up water)
TV was only portable and only sky news in English (minor niggles)
Room is situated fairly high up a hill (no problem for us but others would struggle or definitely use the bus)
Lifts were slow and tiny for the size of the hotel – (seems minor but the wait becomes a bind)
Outdoor pool can’t be used as it wasn’t clean (time of year)

February Stay
16 February 2008
Stayed from 11-15 February. Entrance foyer impressive, but corridors and bedrooms basic, with no tea/coffee making facilities. Minibar in room, but no safe this is available at reception. Good food, but not 4*. We had room on 8th floor and the hotel was very busy with Spanish occupants which sometimes meant we had to wait for up to 15mins for lift down. This hotel is situated at top of hill but courtesy bus to beach free and excellent facility. Indoor swimming pool and gym, but remember to take 5 euro deposit to reception for towel and 10 euro deposit to reception for gym key, as they fail to state this in room. Only portable television in room. This hotel was good value for money. Plus points, indoor pool and gym, good food, free parking and free courtesy bus to beach and to old town. Downside, location -uphill not recommended for young families with pushchairs and the elderly/disabled, building work at rear of hotel, lifts only 3 and only hold max 4 people. Hotel full with Spaniards and entertainment was geared to Spanish nationals.

Winter Break
11 February 2008
In Benidorm 4th - 8th February 2008. Main reception areas of hotel are very nice and deserve 4 star rating. Bedrooms are small, although clean and well serviced, should be rated 3 star. Corridors are very shabby and offputting. Food in restuaraunt was excellent with plenty of choice, although staff in restuaraunt were not particularly friendly and could be bossy, telling you where to sit. Location of hotel is a fair distance from front which we thought would not be a problem as we had hired a car but parking anywhere in Benidorm is a nightmare so you tend to walk. Anyone with any mobility problems would find distance difficult as return to hotel is all uphill. If we were to go back to Benidorm would pay more for a more central hotel.

fab palm beach
11 February 2008
Palm Beach Hotel is set in the quite area of laventa beach side of benidorm.the hotel has an inpressive reception area and good size bedrooms...all are facing the pool and it was nice to have a full sized bath in the room as well as a shower. The TV was also a bonus feature in your room. The Staff were all very helpful and the food was excelent...spoilt for choice. Loved the acoustic sound in the foyer center circle, we had a go every time we entered and left the building, unfortunately the pool was not used as it was February and the water was a little too cool but looked very inviting just the same. The Information on the display board was full of daily activities and we took advantage of the "Happy Hours"...Thanks. Which sums up our time at Palm Beach Hotel...."HAPPY"
We hired a car for our time in spain and found the car parking at the hotel also a bonus, although there was a free bus rout from the Hotel to the beach even though it could be walked to in just under ten mins. All in all it was a place I would return to and recomend to other friends if they said they were going to Benidorm.

my wife and i stayed at the palm beach hotel only for 4 days. we found the hotel to be of very high standard.
food was very good, catered for the spanish and the english.
the only thing was that if you are a smoker like my wife youhave to go out in the evenings to find your own entertainment , as you are not allowed to smoke in the entertainment bars.
which i think that the palm beach hotel are loosing a great deal of money because of this . but apart from this it is a first class hotel.

Great hotel
23 January 2008
Just came back from Palm beach - this is the 2nd visit to this hotel, would recommend to friends/family. The hotel is very clean, no issues with rooms, good variety of food. Due to the location of the hotel, which is on a steep hill, I would not recommend for the eldery or people with walking difficultions. Hotel is about 30min walk to the main bar/club area - although there are other bars within a few mins walk of hotel. A supermarket is also in easy reach from hotel. During high season this is a popular hotel for families due to daily activities and evening entertainment/shows. There's a gym and indoor swimming pool, outdoor pool and poolbar great for a cool beer on a hot day. I would say this hotel is extremely good value for money.
