The Palm Beach Hotel is situated directly on the golden sandy beach of St George South in a beautifully natural setting with sand dunes on one side and the resort on the other. The beach stretches for four miles and the resort centre, with its shops, bars and restaurants is a short stroll away. The romantic fishing village of Agios Georgios is approximately 200 metres from the hotel and is characterised by traditional Greek taverns. On site, guests can enjoy a range of modern facilities, including tennis courts and a large amphitheatre for evening entertainment. The glorious open-air swimming pool is surrounded by spacious terraces and guests can top up their tan while enjoying a chilled beverage from the snack bar. Guest rooms are divided between six buildings and have either garden or sea views. All rooms come equipped with the amenities one might expect from a hotel of its class, including en-suite bathroom.

The Palm Beach is more like an apartment complex than a hotel - there are about six two-storey blocks stretching back from the beach (which is long and sandy but can be a bit breezy). There is a pool, restaurant and supermarket all on site. Some facilities are shared with the Corfu Plaza. The reception staff spoke good English and were very helpful and welcoming. The rooms are large and well-equipped with bath, balcony and TV (N.B. 20 euros deposit for remote control). Buffet breakfast was excellent. Dinner finished at 9 which I found a bit early but there is a good choice of restaurants in the resort within about 10 mins walk. (I would particularly recommend Le Bistrot - excellent food reasonably priced and a nice garden overlooking the sea.) Overall it's hard to fault the Palm Beach - I would definitely stay there again.
