Don't go if you are a veggie or only want English food, but plenty to eat and drink from 7am till 10:30pm. Great Food.... I took my 18 year old daugher and we both had a great time, planning on going back later in the year with my husband. Nothing is too much for the staff they are ever so helpful and polite.
The best thing about my stay was…
The Staff are brill.

COULD HAVE BEEN A LOT WORSE

18 April 2012
Stayed her for a 7day break with our daughter and 1 yr old grand-daughter. The Hotel was lovely and the staff where very welcoming. Food in the resaurant was above average although they do serve a lot of meat on the bone. Not really very much in ther that a 1 year old could eat apart from chips. bread and pasta. Rooms where cleaned and mopped every day. Entertainment was a bit naff but it was early in the year and the summer season hadnt quite started, but, what entertainment was on was really for the lots of French people that accomodate the hotel. On the whole it was a nice break, the staff where very friendly and helpful and I would go back again.
The best thing about my stay was…
The best thing about my stay was the beautiful sea and pool view from our balcony it was amazing

We stayed at Palia La Roca on a golf trip, while we were out playing golf we had 2 bottles of expensive aftershave and 1 designer T-shirt stolen from our rooms! The management didn`t seem concerned at all, saying that it wasn`t possible. I heard from other guests about things going missing, i would never stay here again If you have already booked, lock everything in the safe, even your perfume/aftershave.

The hotel as a whole was ok. The staff were friendly apart from the restaurant staff, everywhere was clean and the food was edible. Unfortunately I had a full bottle of Aftershave costing £120 stolen, as did my friend and another friend had a t-shirt stolen from it hanger. We reported it to the manager but he wasn't interested and dismissed it. We will not be staying there again. Phil Selby

Food Could have been better

22 March 2010
I have been to this hotel a few times over the last 4 years and we have enjoyed our stay here. Unfortunately we where disappointed this time due to the poor quality of food and choice of food - especially in the evening. We went half board breakfast was good but the evening meal was very poor. There is no fresh meat (carvery) you have to cook your own pasta and there was not much choice of food. Previous years there has been a good selection of meets being sliced off the bone fresh and homemade beef and onion pies etc. It is a shame that the food is poor because the hotel itself and the staff are brilliant you cannot fault the rooms. I hope they get back to their high standards of serving food because a lot of people who stayed in the hotel who where also regulars mentioned that they would not be returning back. Someone has written a review about the large banana tree this has now been removed.

A good all round hotel

22 October 2009
I have just returned from the Palia La Roca, having had a 5 day break, with my daughter and her friend. We had a triple room, which was very spacious. You could not see over the balcony, because of a very large banana tree, which I wasn't very happy about at first, but then proved to be very useful, as it kept the room very cool. The rooms were very clean, and maids serviced them and changed the towels daily. We were all inclusive, and had our drinks served in small platic cups, so one mouthful, and they were gone. So my advice is to oder at least 4 drinks at a time, as there was always a long queue at the bar! Food on the whole was good, especially if you liked salads, but not enough variety of sweets. I would recommend the hotel to others, and would return there again.

Basic hotel-great holiday!

14 October 2009
Hotel really 2* not 3*. If you need a hairdryer, take one with you, as hotel can't supply one. Also take a kettle if you need a hot drink before 8am. Food is varied, quality is quite poor, except for the salads and cooked meat. Bread is awful-unusual for Spain! Antonio on reception was brilliant, friendly and helpful-the others were surly and unhelpful. Pool area good. Rooms cleaned regularly. Balcony doors very hard to open. Hotel definitely needs a re-furb. Beds were like sleeping on concrete! Benalmadena has lots of hills- road up to hotel could be challenging for those with limited mobility.Really enjoyed the sea, sun and trips to Nerja and Tangier.

another great holiday

20 September 2009
Just got back from another great holiday at La Roca. The staff could not do enough to help. We stayed for 2 weeks and took advantage of having a fridge put in room for 1.75 euro's a day it was a god send. The room was cleanand comfortable. Had a great view over looking the pool. The food catered for everyone so there was always something eat. Would be going back next year I hope.

The hotel was lovley and clean, staff very freindly and helpful, food was nice and plenty of varity to suit all taste. We went as a party of 6 in three rooms all the rooms are very spacoius ad comfortable. I wet with my two daughters and there husbands who also had a great holiday. Beach just across the road via a uderpass, plenty of bars which serve food if you fancy a change. Boo's Bar across the road is great value. Would definatly go again. another great stay

07 June 2009
We have just come back from our second stay at Palia La Roca, could not fault it. We took my Mother & father who also loved it. Rooms clean and tidy, towels changed every day, though could do with beening a bit bigger as my husband is a big man. Food great and plenty of it and varity. We had a room on front which could get a bit noise first thing at morning with spanish going to work. Price had gone up quite a bit from last year but still got value for money, All in all another great holiday, would definatly go back and recommend. PS great for beach lovers, 2 mins from beach under an underpass no road to cross.

We enjoyed staying at La Roca the rooms are spacious and comfortable, beds made and towels changed every day. The food is good you can always find something that you like. Close to beach and good bars and resturants if you fancy eating out for a change. I agree with Christine Burns that the pillows could do with changing, or maybe if i stay there again i take my own!!!

Great Hotel

09 February 2009
This is a very nice hotel, very clean, good food, Extremely good staff who make you most welcome. I travelled alone but my daughter (20 +) who lives in town came and stayed with me and she loved it too. Easy access to lots of great restaurants and trips. The only thing i would change is the pillows.....too small and hard!

Welcome to the Hotel Palia La Roca

11 August 2008
I really don't want to tell you how good a 3 star hotel this is, because if I do you'll all want to go there, then we won't be able to get in next year! But I'll tell you anyway... The first thing to bear in mind is this is a THREE star hotel, so if you want to pay twice the price and have gourmet food go to a five star hotel! As a three star hotel Palia La Roca has EVERYTHING you need and more! We really could not fault the hotel. The accommodation was great; air conditioned, sea view, cleaned every day and everything worked fine! We thought the food was excellent; they did try to vary the food every night, and it was all cooked fresh on the hot plate in front of you. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. There was entertainment all day and every night if you wanted it, but they soon got to know the people who didn't want it and they didn't bother us! GREAT location; one minute to the beach, 5 minutes by taxi to the station, plenty of things to do within walking distance or a 5/10 minute taxi ride. Just one more thing, if you do book a holiday here i took somebody else's advice and took the train from the airport and saved a small fortune! Because there are five of us we would have to get 2 taxis (as they can only take 4 each) which would have cost us 60 euros. Instead we waited 10 mninutes for the train which then took 20 minutes to get to Benalmadena Station all for 1.25 euros each. The taxis are waiting outside which cost 5 euros each (that came to just over 16 euros - instead of 60 euros!). Which just leaves me one thing to say... ENJOY YOUR HOLIDAY AT PALI LA ROCA!

24 June 2008
June 2008. Stayed at Palia La Roca for a short four night all inclusive break. The hotel was cheap & cheerful but is in need of further modernisation. Food rooms and pool were all acceptable for a 3 star hotel. The bar service really let the hotel down as most of the time there was only one stressed out bar person trying to keep up with serving too many people. This was made worse by the drinks being served in 200ml plastic beakers so customers were having to return to the bar frequently, also the bar staff would only serve 2 beakers per person, as there were several people in our party this required several of us to visit the bar together. Then to cap it all the all inclusive service ended at 10:30pm. We used the bar across the road from the hotel to avoid the unpleasant atmosphere in the hotel bar. Our gripes could easily be fixed by more bar staff being employed at busy times and serving drinks in reasonable sized glasses.

review of La Roca

15 May 2008
Stay 30/04/08 for 7 nights I have stayed hear a few times before, it is an ideal location for everything. The staff are amoungst the friendliest i have come across. The hotel is also one of the cleanest. But the food is shocking it seems to be now that they do all inclusive the std has gone down, it is cheap cuts of meat and really not much to chose from. The snacks which they include for the all inclusive are restricted to certain times and not very good. It is a shame as this used to be our favourite hotel in the area, but will not back.

review of la rocha

31 March 2008
We went 23rd march for 5 nights. We asked for seaview and got it, lovely view. rooms were cleaned everyday, the hotel is an ideal location for everything beach just across the road, bonanza square just up the hill from your hotel and the marina only 5 euros in a taxi or ten mins walk. The only gripe we had was the food did seem to be the same each night so we ended up eating out for three nights and just had lunch in the hotel. Overall I would go back there again for it's location and the pool area was a nice suntrap blocking out the wind at this time of year. Oh forgot to add there's entertainers who will try and get you involved in most things and they seem to make a lot of noise playing daft games whilst we just wanted to sunbathe in peace.

Review of 'La Roca'

14 March 2007
As regular visitors to La Roca, we have found the all the staff to be extremely friendly, helpful & efficient. The hotel is clean & comfortable. This year we noticed that the variety of food has deteriorated. obviously economies have been made in this area, which will no doubt lose the hotel some regular customers. That would be a great shame, because otherwise this is an excelent hotel, of which the Manager and Staff can be truly proud.
