Palazzo Guardi Hotel, housed in a 16th century Venetian Palace, has been completely re-modeled and transformed into a beautifully individual property without losing any of its period style. Opened by Andrea and Lucio in 2004, this intimate hotel, named after the famous painter Francesco Guardi, is just a few steps away from the world famous Accademia Gallery which houses many of his works - it is, in fact, said that many of his paintings were inspired by the panoramic views from some of the Palazzo Guardi windows. Situated in the Dorsoduro district of Venice, the hotel is within easy walking distance of St. Mark's Square (10 minutes) and the Rialto Bridge (15 minutes). In addition to the main part of the hotel being in the palazzo itself, additional rooms are located in neighbouring historic buildings - all are spacious and truly elegantly decorated in a rich and traditional Venetian style. Accommodation offers air-conditioning, mini bar, Internet link, satellite television, safe, private bathrooms and hairdryer as standard, and breakfast is served to all guests in either the main part of the hotel or in the neighbouring, historic buildings where some rooms are located. Offering a warm and personal welcome, either Andrea, Lucio or their staff are always on hand to assist guests and ensure they get to experience the best that Venice has to offer.

We enjoyed our stay in ‘one of the Palazzo Guardi’s annexes.’ When we booked with Alpha rooms we were given no indication that we would be in an annex which was some 3 or 4 minutes walk away. Having said that, the room was extremely spacious, tastefully decorated and comfortably furnished. However, it did not have satellite/cable TV. In fact there were no English speaking channels nor was there any internet link. Despite this, what we paid represented very good value for money and we were conveniently situated to visit all parts of Venice
