Very Pleased
14 October 2008
This was our first stay at the Panama, & whilst, admittedly, it was not our first choice, we were pleasantly surprised!
From arrival, reception very friendly, Large room 2 x dbl beds. It caters mainly for French & Dutch visitors, but we did not have a problem at all, in fact in many ways it felt like actually being abroad (rather than all Brit hotels)! The food at main meal times was varied & decent quality. The snacks (cold buffet/sweets/crisps/fruit) could top you up whenever. The self service bar was great (apart from tiny plastic cups-though understandable). We stayed at end of season, closing same weekend, so some drinks ran out, even soft ones, but enough alternatives to survive! Quiet! Clean! Lots of activities, eg crazy golf, darts, rifle, archery, sauna, jacuzzi...all free!!!

Superb value for money

If you are looking for a cheap decent hotel then look no further!
We came here for a cheap break away so wasn't expecting too much from a 3 star all inclusive but were very pleasantly surprised!
Food and drink was great.
Bedrooms large with lots of storage.
Huge swimming pool with plenty of sunbeds.
Good entertainment during the day.
When I go back to Palmanova I'll definitely stay here again!

A great hotel
23 September 2008
Myself and my boyfriend came to Majorca for a cheap break away so opted for all inclusive. We weren’t expecting that much from this place but I must say we were very pleasantly surprised!
The bedroom itself was very large and spacious with plenty of storage facilities along with a nice bathroom.
The meals themselves were great with plenty of choice even for fussy eaters, although the times were pretty restrictive as breakfast was 8-10am , lunch 12.30-2.30pm and dinner 7pm to 9pm. As dinner was so early we did decide to eat out a couple of evenings- recommend Tabu and the Fish restaurant- their lobster paella is to die for!!
The bar itself was a good set up as it was self service. The only pain was the plastic cups but is a good idea from the hotel’s point of view! There was a toaster along with bread, cheeses and hams so you could always make yourself a snack if you missed breakfast or lunch for example, plus there were crisps, nuts and biscuits always available- so you would never starve!
The entertainment was pretty good- well the daytime activities anyway! We tried our hand at Archery, darts, pool, and table tennis. Although it was only the French that seemed to do the activities but they were all a good laugh! So come on English join in if you go! It’s a good way to meet others!
The pool area was good although a little shaded with all the palm trees so you had to strategically place your sunbed in the right place each day. The pool itself was great, nice and big if not a bit cold- great for a good swim. The beach itself is only a 5 minute walk and is well worth a visit.
All in all we could not fault the hotel and will definitely stay there again. I am pretty fussy so if I recommend it, its got to be good!!
Palmanova is a great resort too!
Go on give it a go...have fun!

This hotel was very good the staff were really frinedly and helpful..the all-inclusive meals were very nice with good variety each day...the fresh fruit was lovely..it was a pity that the evening meal was only from 7 to 9 because the evening was nearly gone by d time u had dinner finished, if u wanted to go into palma or so0mething...but generally i had no complaints..we were allowed keep our hotel on the day we were checking out which was very handy..all in all it was gud &had gud location..

outstanding
19 May 2008
i was really surprised by this hotel. having read other reviews i wasn't really sure what to expect, but although the hotel has mainly french visitors we found everyone very cheerful. the food was very good with an english breakfast available each day. the bar was open from 10am until 11pm, it was self service with plenty of choice, with buffet style snacks avaiilable, the entertainment team where very good and spoke in three languages and tried their hardest to get everyone involved in the activities. they never forgot your names and really made a fuss of you. the room was quite large with a large double bed and also a couch that pulled out into two single beds. the rooms where cleaned daily with fresh towels everyday. the value for money was excellent approx £100 cheaper than other all inclusive hotels in palmanova/magaluf. all in all i cannot think of any criticysm of this hotel, i would definetly go back again. my wife and daughter aged 14 stayed with me from the 5th may to the 9th may

buggy beware!!
09 August 2007
If you need to take a Buggy then this is NOT the place for you! Steps everywhere. Location great, Food great, staff not that friendly, but the worst of all is the PLASTIC CUPS from the bar!!! It was a self service bar which worked well but the plastic cups were a nightmare!!
The hotel decor is major need of updating! The rooms leave a lot to be desired as they are all in need of total refurbishment.
The biggest plus this hotel has is the Entertainment team!! I have never seen a team to work so hard at entertaining the guests. They were brilliant!
Another down side was the air conditioning, it was on too early in the evening and off too early in the morning!!
All in all I wouldn't be returning to this hotel. Also keep you hand on your handbag!! Pick pockets were everywhere in Palma Nova, we had a narrow escape in the local Euopspar supermarket!!

recent holiday july 07
13 July 2007
We were a party of 8 including mum and dad 4 aged 17 to 19 and two aged 13 and 14. We were booked to stay at the hotel Bermudas which is the Panamas sister hotel a minutes walk away. When we arrived at the Bermudas we were informed that we had been moved to the Panama. We were not happy as we had researched the Hotel Bermudas on the internet. As soon as we said we were not happy the manager offered us X2 free excursions each which equated to a Max Value of 800 euros which we accepted.
The manager also said we could use the facilities at the Bermudas any time we liked.
We were driven to the Panama and were welcomed by very helpful staff.
We found the rooms to be fine although the aircon is only switched on at 1400 to 1600 and 2300 to 0500 that said this was not a problem as we were out most of the time. There was a TV and fridge in the room which was great. The maid service was excellent.
The bar was self service which suited our party and seemed to work very well and food was available all day which was very adequate.
The pool area was very good but the poolside furniture left something to be desired there was insufficient tables and not enough of the more comfortable sunbeds. There was a permanent lifeguard however she did little and did not once approach the boisterous groups around the pool that said at times our kids were perhaps part of the boisterous groups.
The kids were very well catered for with the mini club activities and parents of younger kids seemed very happy with the respite offered. Daytime entertainment and games around the pool was very good. Unfortunately night entertainment was poor.
The food hall is clean and well managed and the food is basically OK the bacon and sausages will repeat on you all day.
For a family with older children this hotel was just fine but I would not wish to take little children or plan a romantic holiday here.
We found all staff to be very helpful and multi lingual and excursions booked via the hotel were excellent in particular water sports.
The hotel is predominantly French which we were happy with we don’t go on holiday abroad to experience English people etc.
All in all this holiday was what we expected it to be if you are looking for 5 star at 3 star prices but you will be bitterly disappointed but if you are looking for fun and a basically good place close to the beach in an excellent location this will fit the bill perfectly

recent holiday at this hotel
30 June 2007
i have just returned from a week in palma nova staying at the ola club panama with my partner, before going i read many reviews on the hotel and was doubtful about the 'dated' rooms and service of the hotel however i can happily say i was shocked when i arrived at this resort. the location was excellent just round the corner from the sandy beach and clear waters, hundreds of shops bars and restaurants, all of which were very cheap. the appearance of the hotel itself was very nice, quite exotic looking surrounded by palm trees. the entertainment team were fantastic really friendly and spoke a number f languages to accomodate all guests staying at the hotel. the food and all inclusive system was also very good self service a good idea. the people staying at the hotel were also very polite and helpful. i did not agree with other reviews abut the rooms being dated they were both comfortable and spacious with relaxing airconditioning and a balcony which overlooked the area. overall i would most definantly recoomend this holiday to others whether it is a quiet break you deserve or your are going for the nightlife palma nova is the place to be and this hotel is the best around. me and my partner both took part in the facilities on offer from the hotel such as jet skiing and paragliding both at only 6 euros each a worthwhile experience and frankly the best value for money i have ever recieved. if there were one point to pick with the hotel it would be the pool although it was very satisfactory it wqas a little deap however the overal holiday and accomodation compensated for this.

Ola Club Panama
23 May 2007
We have just returned from a week at this hotel where we really enjoyed our stay. I agree with the other reviewers about the bedrooms being very dated but they were spotlessly clean. We enjoyed the "Frenchness" of the hotel and it was good to see the manager walking through the restaurant most evenings wishing everyone "bon appetit". The entertainment team (3 of them) did a marvellous job and had a very "wacky" sense of humour. If we were to go to Palma Nova again (which we probably wont as we were not that keen on the resort) we would most definitely stay at this hotel. The value for money was quite amazing!

14 March 2007
Rooms are dated but the Ola Panama has a little bit of magic on its side, ill start with the bar-help yourself, fabulous but it does end at 11pm so fill your table, the food is better than most 3 and 4 stars we have stayed in and lastly the pool, well old ladies fighting over sunbeds at 9am what a bonus. Get down early for a sunbed or you wont get one in july, like hens teeth! Pool is fantastic with a slide for the kids and for us yes we will be back just not this year as were going to try the Sol Tordos on our honeymoon, kids kept busy you know!

Hotel rooms are in need of a makeover the photo of the rooms are misleading, the hotel reception is nice and the pool is great but bed space is tight. Unless you wake before 8.30am to get breakfast then sun loungers you might as well make arrangements to venture outside of the hotel. The staff are great and my appraisal goes to the entertainment staff they are fantastic they get everyone involved if they can but they are also involved in the evening shows as well. Now the worst part of it all is the dining room, the food isn,t bad and it isn,t great but the people are like ants round a sticky doughnut it is a nightmare unless you get there as soon as it opens or when it is closing my advice dont go until those times.

Very good hotel. Rooms cleaned & towels changed daily. Food good, self sevices bar even better. Entertainment reps do not stop day or night, plenty to do through the day for all ages, mini, teen and adult activities. Reps were fantastic and very friendly especially to the children. Evening entertainment inside, but fun & worth seeing. I will return to this hotel in the future.

May bank holdiday week, was a little reserved when booking this hotel, due to reading bad reviews? Booked 2 rooms although a little dated, very clean and any minor repairs/replacements done immediately. Rooms come with air conditioning hairdryers complimentary packs. used to be self catering with kitchenette but now all inclusive. Free bar self service no ques worked very well and staff constantly on hand cleaning and refilling the EMPTIES!! Towels changed daily and linen once a week. Good selection hot and cold ice etc Good pool with slide a bonus can be enjoyed by all be warned pool very deep for non swimmers but there is a lifeguard. Plenty of sunbeds no early starts and shady spots so no brolly hugging. Tasters for 6 Euros on jet ski horseriding paragliding banana boat i event can be pre booked daily this was very good value. Mainly French, but likeable and friendly enough English when we were there. The entertainers were brilliant with children and adults The negative side were quite a lot of stairs not pushchair friendly Entertainment on a night was not very good it was again for French taste. The food was basic mainly to French Taste but still managed to put on weight! The snacks were very good which includes crisps/nuts etc. Good location with bars beach shops close at hand. We would definately go back as had a great hol at the OLA PANAMA!!

This was a great hotel to stay in it was only a 10min stroll to the strip and 2mins away from the beach. The food is what you would expect from an all inclusive hotel in magaluf (edible). The bar was the best thing about this hotel it was help yourself and you did your own measures on your spirts WOW we had fun. The staff were helful when called upon and the hotle itself was very clean, all in all a hotel i would revist, although they were a lot of french people there.

Great holiday .. The hotel is a wee bit dated - stuck in the eighties - and needs refurbished, but it's freshly painted, and very clean. Pool terrace great. Open bar for all-inclusive is good - plenty of choice of drinks and snacks. Entertainment fab - always something going on and pass the time if you don't fancy lying in the sun all day. Very friendly and helpful staff, fantactic value.

The Hotel is in serious need of a makeover, the rooms are dated and old fashioned. However the hotel was spotless and the staff were fantastic, especially the entertainment staff. Good pool area and loads going on, you can jetski, horseride etc all for only 6 euro. All in all the hotel is good value for money and I couldn't fault the food or the drink. Well situated opposite the Don Bigote approx 3mins walk from the beach. I would def stay again as there were so many good points that allowed you to ignore the dated decor.

We found the staff very friendly, especially the Entertainment Reps. Food was good and plentiful, a good variety of salads although the desserts very rather bland. The hotel shut down on our last day for the winter but we were made welcome regardless. The French guests were in the majority and sometimes this was made very obvious. We will be going back next year!!!!

hotel in an excellent central location, all of the staff very helpful & friendly. rooms could do with redecoration - but very spacious with own kitchenette. nice large pool area with separate kids pool & slide, day & evening entertainment very good but is french/german orientated. we found the french to be rude & bad mannered so be aware of this. all inclusive drinks is 'self service' which we found strange at first but it is fantastic!!! no queing at the bar for drinks! food on the whole good but the resturant very busy all of the time so you do have to wait for a table. all in all we had a great time & would visit the hotel again, good value for money. cost in a taxi from airport approx 30 euros.

hotel in good location to main strip of palma nova with shops and bars right outside. hotel is clean and staff/animation team very helpful. rooms are cleaned daily but could do with a refurb abit 70's. food was ok when you could get a table, we went end of sept and struggled to get seated for lunch and dinner!bar is self service which we thought strange but worked very well no queues and can have as much as you want! they asked you to sign a disclaimer when you arrive so they are not responsible for you if you have accident after a few! entertainment ok very much made for the french tourist. beware of the french they are very rude and will physically pushed you out of the way. this did mare the enjoyment of our holiday quiet abit. pool area nice with seats and free sunbeds and water slide with small kids pool. has jacuzzi and gym and uv sunbeds, like being under a light bulb! you have a free 10 min massage included which was great -recommended! everyone was bit by mosquitoes when we were there so take repellant. on the whole a nice holiday met lots of nice english, we all stuck together. but be aware of the french they are very aggressive.

This hotel was great. Never been to it before and wasn't sure what to expect. Hotel was very clean with rooms cleaned daily, Pool area was fantastic with a small kids pool next to a large pool with slide into it which kids loved (Have to be careful of steps though as very steep and slippery)Food fantastic varied choice for all, Entertainment good and different for the full 10 days we stayed And all inclusive bar well what more can i say open from 10.30am till 11pm every day with a varied selection of snacks too. Only downfall for me was the language barrier with some other guests as majority were french but don't be disheartened there were a lot of English too Also got hot in entertainment area on a night aircon just didn't feel strong enough
