The Ocean Gardens is a pleasant hotel which enjoys a great location in the Madeira archipelago, nestled between the sea and subtropical gardens and wonderful mountainous landscapes. Madeira airport can be reached in only 17 km. This fully air-conditioned hotel comprises a total of 47 rooms spread over two floors. Guests are welcomed in an inviting lobby at the reception desk, which is manned around the clock. It is possible to store valuable in the hotel safe here, and lift access is also available. Culinary options in the hotel include a pleasant café, a cosy bar, and an elegant restaurant. Highchairs are provided for younger visitors. In the evenings it is possible to relax in the TV lounge, while business guests may make use of the hotel's conference facilities. In addition, the hotel features a public Internet terminal, and guests may park their cars in the hotel car park or garage. The rooms all come with a king-size bed, a hairdryer, a direct dial telephone, satellite/ cable TV, a radio, a minibar, and a private hire safe. We stayed at the Ocean Gardens for 14 nights in May/June and had a wonderful time. The staff were great, the room was very comfortable and the views superb. Transport into Funchal was very easy and we walked in several times however never summoned the energy to walk back up to the hotel. The garens and pool were absolute gems and made even better by the panoramic views as they are on the roof.
