Review of 'OBAN CALEDONIAN'
05 December 2006
Having made the long drive from Glasgow to Oban on a typical West of Scotland November afternoon the Caledonian Hotel by the waterfront of Oban made a welcoming site. An obvious and recent upgrading showed a very tempting reception and bar area with friendly staff keen to help. My companion was slightly dismayed at the view from our room as she has a romantic attraction to the sea and the girls on reception were very helpful in allowing me to choose an " ocean view " room. Her jaw near hit the floor when she entered the massive, well decorated, comfy and most importantly - scenic room. An excellent start to our break. A large bathroom, changing area and fluffy towels added to our comfort. Everything about the hotel was class, from the food to the staff and I would have no qualms on recommending it. 4* comfort at affordable prices.
