Poor 4 star

15 April 2008
If you have a car there is an underground car park which is very convenient - but it costs 15 euros a night to park there. The pool was closed so we were given complimentary tickets to the Lido. They gave us just one days worth desptie being there for two days. The hotel is OK, but not of a four star standard. The food is plentiful, its a pity it is all cold. There was no vegetarian choice at the evening meal on both nights were stayed there until you just had salad. The choice of meat one night was chicken drumsticks or pork in mushroom sauce. The following evening there was just pork medalions on offer. The breakfast again was flat cold, but there was a choice between a fried breakfast and a continental one. The hotel is situated by two night clubs and although you cannot hear the music from them youths congregate outside them until 7am and the noise is horrendous. The rooms are OK, the only English channel on the TV is CNN, but you can pay extra to watch films. Upon checking out we were presented with a bill for the drinks we had at dinner on the Saturday night we had a bottle of wine (which half was left for Sunday) and a beer. On the Sunday we ordered just a beer. We were charged 10.50 euros for Saturday and then 12 euros for Sunday. We eventually the bill sorted out but I was not impressed, my husband nearly paid the whole bill as he couldn't read it. All in all the place is of a three star standard, but I would go back again if the price was very reasonable.

The hotel was ok,
It was right in the centre and not far from a small beach. The breakfast was really nice and staff were friendly.

Quite a few tv channals but only cnn and eurosport in English. The rest were either in Spanish or German.

The resort had more of an older crowed but t was nice. Food was really good and the view lovely.

This hotel is centally situated within 5 mins walking distance of the town, shops & restaurants, water front and the lido. The hotel facilities are all that you would expect from a good 4* establishment in Puerto de la Cruz.
On this occasion I stayed four nights in a Superior suite in the 12th floor of the hotel. The rooms were clean and comfortable with a jacuzzi bath complimenting the bathroom. There is a further jacuzzi hot tub on the extremely spacious terrace of this suite which is furnished with a table and chairs and two very comfortable sun-loungers. On the down-side the decor of this suite is a little 'tired', especially in the bathroom.
As ever, all the hotel staff were polite, courteous and helpful at all times. The hotel restaurant is maintaining its high standard of hot and cold buffet meals with something for every palet at what can only be described as excellent value for money.
The Solarium and pool areas of the hotel continue to be well equipped, clean, comfortable and easily accessible with full bar and snack facilities available.

This hotel is centally situated within 5 mins walking distance of the town, shops & restaurants, water front and the lido. The hotel facilities are all that you would expect from a good 4* establishment in Puerto de la Cruz. Bedrooms are large, clean and comfortable with well equipped bathrooms. Room service was good with bed linen changed every 3rd day of my 10 day stay. The reception staff were polite and helpful at all times. The restuarant provides a good standard of hot and cold buffet for all meals providing something for every palet. In my experience the dinningroom staff were extremely pleasant and helpful even although I don't speak Spanish. The Solarium and pool areas of the hotel are well equipped clean, comfortable and easily accessible. All in all, this hotel is excellent value for money, Travellers should bear in mind that 4* accomodation in Puerto de la Cruz is of a standard that would probably merit 3* in the UK. As one would expect during the month of September there was a high proportion of Spanish guests staying in this hotel and in Puerto de la Cruz in general.

This hotel is in a good position within walking distance of the town, shops & restaurants. My wife is disabled & the hotel offers good rooms for wheelchair users; well equiped bathroom with rails & a full walk in shower. The bedroom was large & had reasonable access for the wheelchair. Their are lifts to all facilities & the swimming pool is accessible with no steep steps. Access to reception by wheelchair is also easy, no steps.
Reception staff were very friendly & helpful but restaurant staff are not friendly or helpful unless you speak Spanish. The hotel had mostly Spanish guests. The town is very hilly but this hotel is one of the best for access for any one with walking problems.
