This hotel was wonderful. The service was great. I was most impressed with the enormity of the facilities. I have read some complaints about the walking but I thought it waas great. I was on the complete other side of the hotel from the beach in the garden view condominum type rooms, and we never walked more than five minutes. As we walked out of our room, there was an enormous pool with three parts and a swim up and pool bar. Also, there was a fifty person jacuzzi. This all sat next to one of the evening a la carte restaurants. We ate at the Mexican and Italian a la carte restaurants and they were both wonderful. The BBQ ribs and fire roasted mango salsa at the Mexican restaurant were both superb. The Italian restaurant had the best calamari I have ever tasted. You could have wine with every dinner at the a la carte restaurants but I would suggest the frozen margaritas at the Mexican restaurant. The bar at the beach was open 24 hours a day. There was always plenty to do. We ended up playing a little bit of ping pong and pool every night after dinner while we waited for the show to start. The beach was nice and relaxing which was what we were looking for in this vacation. It is perfect for people with small children as the water right in front of the hotel goes out for a long ways at only 1-2 feet in depth. The beach was not as nice as in Cancun, but it is better for kids. However, the hotel was far superior to the hotel we stayed at in Cancun. The facilities at this hotel are so impressive. I had to keep reminding myself we were in a third world country. The lobby is massive and everything is clean. The lobby floors are all marble and everything is open but with a breeze. The landscaping is beautiful throughout the hotel. There is also a spa, tennis courts, mini golf, and a jogging track around all of the facilities. The buffet is huge and the service is great. If you are not used to being complimented a lot, be ready for it. On the other hand, we were two girls that traveled alone, so that may have been a part of it. The only complaints I have was the wait at check in, but it was very busy and the beach was pretty but could have been better. Everything else was spectacular, and we got a great price through Alpharooms, Thanks!
