Norwood Hall

I usually base much of my assessment on the quality of the staff and those at Norwood Hall were very friendly and helpful. I was staying on business and needed help in getting an email printed. The staff could not have done more to assist. Breakfast and reception staff were also very friendly. The hotel itself is very grand in terms of decor, but the dim lighting made it difficult to read. My room was very clean, functional and had everything I needed to make my stay enjoyable and the complementary water and bath products a nice touch. All in all, a fine establishment and one I would happily return to.

We had dinner in the hotel which was very good but our room was very disappointing. It was in the newer part of the hotel and was very pokey and dismal and definitely not worth £70. On the upside, the breakfast was delicious.

We are from Aberdeen so we knew the hotel from past experiences. Our friends deceided to hold their wedding at Norwood Hall and I have to say that the Hotel has not changed much which is good as it has always been lovely. The room we stayed in was very nice and quiet and the stff were all very polite and extremely helpful. Breakfast was delicious with lots of choices for everyone. I would stay here again when back in Aberdeen and would reccommend the hotel too.

Excellent rooms in the old part of the hotel. Dinner was superb and breakfast was excellent. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful even though there was a wedding going on that night. Our room wasn't affected by any noise from the wedding so a very enjoyable. visit. Would stay again.

A very grand building and location. Family suite of 2 rooms (1 double & 1 twin) plus shared bathroom suited us and the kids (12 & 9) admirably.
The staff were very friendly and helpful, but we got the impression that things were not always running smoothly in the background. The breakfast chef didn't show up one morning (!?) so there were long delays getting served and the 'poached' haddock which eventually came had been grilled to dryness.
There were weddings at the hotel on both Saturday and Sunday nights, which seemed to stretch things even further. The late night music from the reception kept some of us awake both nights.
Not a bad hotel, but it didn't quite live up to the promise of first impressions.

Review of 'Norwood Hall'
16 March 2007
I last stayed in Norwood Hall over 5 years ago - prior to my stay in 2007. On that earlier occasion, I had a somewhat damp and dismal room. How the place has changed! This time the room was very well appointed, bright, and comfortable. The breakfast was excellent and well presented in an impressive dining hall. The staff were helpful and very welcoming. I would certainly stay there again.
