What our customers say

I've just had a fantastic stay at the Lord Charles Hotel. The hotel is about 45 minutes from the airport. It is set in the Stellenbosch wine region. The hotel is set back from the road and has immaculate and lush gardens with a lily pond. The staff are extremely friendly and go out of their way to make you feel at home. The reception area has a large open fire which came in handy as the weather during my stay was appaling. It was great to have tea and cakes by the fire. The rooms were very clean and spacious and had the usual amenities that you would expect froma 4 star hotel. There are regular shuttles to the local shopping mall which was useful to stock up on for some excellent and very cheap south african wines. The hotel has a very good restaurant called La Vigna and a bar named St Andrew's Bar, The 19th Hole. This is a great place to meet up with friends.
We hired a car and drove to the waterfront where there are lots of shops and restaurants. It was from here that we took the ferry to Robben Island. The journey took about 30 minutes and was very rough because of the windy conditions. Robben Island is both a museum, nature reserve and unesco heritage site. When we got there we we took a bus around the island with a guide. We then were shown around the prison by a guide who had been incarceratted there during the 60's. The prison was of course where nelson mandela was held for many years. The trip was very moving and one that i think that everyone visiting cape town should undertake. My stay in cape town was extremely enjoyable despite the weather.
