Service was excellent, the staff very pleasant. Rooms adequate though no tea coffee facilities. We were in a non smoking room but it smelt of smoke so be warned. Very clean though. About 15 min walk to Times Square. Next door to the Station. Had a good stay! would return!

Stayed in this hotel on business and a bit of shopping the end of February 2008. Facilities and staff are top of the range, location is excellent, The room had 2 double beds, plenty of space, due to my schedule I ended up using room service a lot but for the convenience and peace I found the prices well worthwhile, making phone calls especially international are crazy expensive but this really is with all hotels. Overall I would definately recommend this hotel, drinks at the bar are priced above average but the friendly staff made it worthwhile for the limited time I was there. All in all I would say I got what I paid for.

My wife and I stayed at the New York Helmsley for four nights at the end of October 2006. We had a spotlessly clean room which had the added bonus of dual aspect windows. We chose a room with a King Size bed and it was one of the biggest beds ever!!!!!The staff were really helpful and friendly. My only complaint was there were no coffee / tea facilities in the room but to be fair I didn't ask for any either. Maybe next time we go I will ask. There is an excellent Deli right next door to the hotel so I made good use of that! The Helmsley is in an excellent location and is within easy walking distance of most attractions. We will definitely stay at the Helmsley on our next visit to Ney York.

We stayed at this hotel between 2nd and 5th September and shared 2 rooms between my wife and I and my daughter and her friend.
The staff are very friendly and helpful. The rooms were a good size with 2 double beds in each and the bathrooms are also of a good size. The rooms had free safe, fridge iron and ironing boarsd as well as the usual TV clock radio etc. The rooms and public areas are spotlessly clean. My only complaint was the prices charged at Harrys Bar for food and drink, however there is an excellent Deli just next door which is open from early morning and sells just about anything you would want for breakfast. The hotel is well positioned being only 2 blocks from Grand Central Station and if you are fit you can walk just about anywhere. We all enjoyed our stay there and when we return to New York I would definitley stay there again.

We stayed here over new year 04/05 for a week and loved every minute of it!!! fantastic location fantastic rooms, we looked out of our window to see the Empire State Building looking back at us....amazing!!!! rooms spacious and clean and the beds are really comfy! we only used the bar in the hotel once, Very expensive! The hotel is in a brilliant location Grand Central Station is a short walk up the road 5th Ave and Times Square are only a short stroll away, fantastic location. Cant wait to go again!!!!!
